Book Inside Nuvola Lavazza

Download or read book Inside Nuvola Lavazza written by AA.VV and published by EGEA spa. This book was released on 2024-09-27T00:00:00+02:00 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The study of corporate headquarters is an interdisciplinary field in which architecture and sociology often intersect. This book describes the different communicative functions that a corporate headquarters can embody. Specifically, it analyzes how strategic communication can contribute to the transformation of a building into a vibrant combination of messages, people, relationships, visual stimuli, stories, and more. Communication itself has shaped the Nuvola Lavazza project from the very beginning and continues to do so, highlighting the communicative side of each decision taken by the top management and leading the project to incisively unfold its effects in and for society. Nuvola is a flagship of Lavazza’s way of communicating, a symbolic and “living” manifesto of strategic communication in its broadest sense. The Nuvola Lavazza project serves as a valuable case study for communication scholars, professionals, and students. This book aims to strengthen the bridge between academic research and professional practice. On the one hand, the study reflects on how an already completed project can offer stimuli for academic research. On the other hand, the book includes fourteen contributions by scholars from all over the world on the most relevant and current issues in the strategic communication debate, which are employed here to interpret and highlight the choices made by the Lavazza family and the management team.

In a wink and nod to the book’s “academic” identity, the 200 mini-essays are arranged alphabetically and accompanied by charming illustrations throughout. A special traveler’s topic index is provided at the end of the book.

Book Inside Nuvola Lavazza

Download or read book Inside Nuvola Lavazza written by Stefania Romenti and published by . This book was released on 2024-08 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book tells the story of the Lavazza Nuvola project, the headquarters of the Lavazza Group inaugurated in Turin in 2017, from a strategic communication perspective, explaining how communication contributed to the conception, development, implementation and promotion of the project. The authors explain how communication becomes strategic when it helps a project take shape, imbuing it in " all its folds" with the mission, values, culture and strategy of the company for which it was created. In this way, communication is listening, it is the involvement of the internal and external community, it is the flywheel of cultural and intellectual initiatives, it is a platform on which the role of business in civil society is grafted onto local and national society, it is what makes the vocation for corporate sustainability alive and vibrant in everyday life. Nuvola is a cultural factory, a corporate citizen, a sustainability shaper, a co-leadership activator, an educational agent, an experiential driver, a multivalent developer, an expressive aligner.

Book The Camera

    Book Details:
  • Author : Victor Burgin
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2018
  • ISBN : 9781912339068
  • Pages : 259 pages

Download or read book The Camera written by Victor Burgin and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page 259 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Victor Burgin is one of the most influential artists and writers working today. He came to prominence as a key figure in the Conceptual Art of the late 1960s. After turning to photography in his artistic practice he produced a series of groundbreaking theoretical essays that drew on semiotics, psychoanalysis and feminism in order to think through the ideological role of photographs in the production of beliefs and values, and in the understanding of memory, history, subjectivity and space. In the last decade or so, Burgin has worked with computer-generated imagery and the virtual camera. But rather than accepting a radical divide between so-called 'analogue' and 'digital' realms, Burgin has emphasised the continuity of the virtual camera, the various physical cameras in use today, and the painted images of Quattrocento painting - all of which have their essence in the perspectival system of representation. Further to this, Burgin argues that no image is merely an optical experience - all images are essentially psychological events and thus virtual also. Inseparable from language, they form the psychical spaces of fantasy and projection, recognition and misrecognition. Whether on pages, walls or screens, in galleries or online, single views, or swarms of picture fragments, images are the making and unmaking of our sense of self, and the world around us. This collection brings together for the first time Victor Burgin's writings related specifcally to the camera, following the shifts and nuances in his thinking over nearly five decades. Moreover, it allows us to chart the evolution of what the camera was and is, and how its affects are to be understood."--Publisher's website

Book The Art of City Making

Download or read book The Art of City Making written by Charles Landry and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2012-05-16 with total page 498 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: City-making is an art, not a formula. The skills required to re-enchant the city are far wider than the conventional ones like architecture, engineering and land-use planning. There is no simplistic, ten-point plan, but strong principles can help send good city-making on its way. The vision for 21st century cities must be to be the most imaginative cities for the world rather than in the world. This one change of word - from 'in' to 'for' - gives city-making an ethical foundation and value base. It helps cities become places of solidarity where the relations between the individual, the group, outsiders to the city and the planet are in better alignment. Following the widespread success of The Creative City, this new book, aided by international case studies, explains how to reassess urban potential so that cities can strengthen their identity and adapt to the changing global terms of trade and mass migration. It explores the deeper fault-lines, paradoxes and strategic dilemmas that make creating the 'good city' so difficult.

Book Phoenix Cities

Download or read book Phoenix Cities written by Anne Power and published by Policy Press. This book was released on 2010 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'Weak market cities' across European and America, or 'core cities' as they were in their heyday, went from being 'industrial giants' dominating their national, and eventually the global, economy, to being 'devastation zones'. In a single generation three quarters of all manufacturing jobs disappeared, leaving dislocated, impoverished communities, run down city centres and a massive population exodus. So how did Europeans react? And how different was their response from America's? This book looks closely at the recovery trajectories of seven European cities from very different regions of the EU. Their dramatic decline, intense recovery efforts and actual progress on the ground underline the significance of public underpinning in times of crisis. Innovative enterprises, new-style city leadership, special neighbourhood programmes and skills development are all explored. The American experience, where cities were largely left 'to their own devices', produced a slower, more uncertain recovery trajectory. This book will provide much that is original and promising to all those wanting to understand the ground-level realities of urban change and progress.

Norbert Niederkofler has dedicated his life and work to South Tyrol's culture and cuisine. He translates the beauty and vivid character of the mountains into his dishes at St. Hubertus, the only Michelin 3-starred restaurant with completely regional cuisine. Niederkofler's philosophy, summarized as "Cook the Mountain," is to choose local and seasonal ingredients only after talking to the producers and growers in person and to honor the ingredients by keeping food waste to a minimum. In the first volume of this 2-book set, brilliant photographs reveal both unspoiled landscapes and the agricultural and architectural changes humans have made in the past millennia. Striking portraits of locals capture the people and producers Niederkofler works with. Breathtaking food photography conveys the stunning ingredients and creations that Niederkofler develops. The second volume includes 80 of Niederkofler's recipes, divided into the four seasons to reflect his ethos of sustainability. Taken together, Cook the Mountain showcases the unique terroir and cuisine of South Tyrol through the eyes of Niederkofler, who has embraced his home and given it a new culinary identity.
