Book Inner Views on Sexuality Politics and Religion

Download or read book Inner Views on Sexuality Politics and Religion written by Tina Peters and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I first began my efforts to spread this message of hope and deliverance to the gay community through my 2008 publishing of The Barbed Wire Fence. While remaining strong in my faith as a devout Christian, I am still a Georgia resident. INNER-VIEWS contains individual input from gays and lesbians, selected at random, concerning their views on sexuality politics and religion; as such subjects pertain to their own lives and their own personal experiences. It is not intended to be any manner of a study.....One would need far more than the amount of interviews I have included within these pages in order to do such a study, for any reason. This is ministry to homosexuals who might be seeking freedom from the behavior, or anyone struggling with any manner of addiction which perplexes them in their own unaided efforts to find freedom. Well over fifteen years ago, I felt spiritually inspired to devise a manner of ministering to gays and lesbians that would hopefully be a useful source of hope and inspiration to those seeking relative ministerial input. And so, with pen in hand, I scrutinized my own recovery process, which I was still undergoing, in order to compile what I believed were pertinent questions. These questions would hopefully serve to enlighten an individual on just how, when and where their own homosexual inclinations came to be and whether or not seeking to overcome those inclinations would be an undertaking they'd care to take. According to scripture, God knew me long before I came into existence. He knew the struggles I would have and my shortcomings. God knew me. To this extent, alone, I am qualified to provide the input read within these pages. I sincerely hope it's enjoyed and simply appreciated for what it is.

Book excerpt: Clinical theory is becoming a way of understanding oneself and one's patients rather than a tool for determining the best technical intervention as a thing in itself. This change has brought increased recognition that different therapists need different theories with their patients, and that even the same clinician may need different theories at different times. As a result there is a new tolerance for and even an encompassing of divergent viewpoints. Today is an age of multiple models in psychotherapy. From Inner Sources: New Directions in Object Relations Psychotherapy includes chapters by the most prominent contributors to this change - Kernberg, Adler, Ogden, McDougall, Pine, and the Scharffs. These clinicians, among others included, originally laid the base for object relations theories in the United States. Their ideas about how individuals grow and change by internalizing and externalizing experience were derived from psychoanalytic investigations into severe mental disorders. As these concepts have been more widely understood and accepted, they have been applied to a wider range of disorders and problems. Each chapter reflects in a different way how object relations psychotherapies are moving in new directions while maintaining their connection with the original inner source. The central concepts such as empathy, containment, object identification, splitting, counter-transference, and the examination of internal object relations' newness are emphasized in each of the contributions. The chapters are clinically relevant and contain significant case material. Although it is not an introduction to object relations theory, this book is understandable to beginning therapists, whilecontaining sufficient depth and controversial discussion for advanced clinicians. The focus of this book is on individual psychotherapy with emphasis on examination of the therapist's intersubjective experience in relation to the patient, as opposed to focusing on the patient's experience alone.

Book The Complete Lynch

Download or read book The Complete Lynch written by David Hughes and published by Random House. This book was released on 2014-04-30 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After working with David on his previous work for the series, The Complete Kubrick, we knew we were on to a winner for this book. Not only is David Lynch a master of modern film-making but David Hughes is well-qualified to write this 'complete' book. The book covers all Lynch's films including Mulholland Drive, TV and other projects, as well as the unrealised ventures such as Revenge of the Jedi (later directed by Richard Marquand as Return of the Jedi). It also includes a foreword by Barry Gifford - the novelist behind Wild at Heart and co-writer with Lynch of the screenplay for Lost Highway - and excerpts from a new interview David Hughes carried out with David Lynch himself. The Complete Lynch is the only comprehensive study of this great director.
