Book Analyse complexe et applications

Download or read book Analyse complexe et applications written by Hervé Queffélec and published by . This book was released on 2017-04-13 with total page 468 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Cell Biology and Immunology of Leukocyte Function

Download or read book Cell Biology and Immunology of Leukocyte Function written by Efraim Racker and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 990 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cell Biology and Immunology of Leukocyte Function is a collection of papers presented at the 12th International Leukocyte Culture Conference, held in Beersheba, Israel on June 1978. This book is organized into seven parts encompassing 111 chapters. The contributors cover the different aspects of cell biology and immunology and the unique leukocyte function. Part I describes the mechanism of lymphocyte activation, the structure and function of the plasma membrane, and the macromolecular synthesis during lymphocyte activation. This part also deals with the interaction of lymphocytes with mitogenic lectins, the comparison of the mitogenic and nonmitogenic lectin binding, and the role of macrophages in the response of lymphocytes to lectins. Part II explores the thymic factors and the development of characteristic markers, antigens, and receptors. This part particularly emphasizes lymphocyte differentiation. Parts III and IV examine the genetic control and intercellular interactions involved in leukocyte function and the parameters of the immune response under in vitro conditions. Chapters on cytotoxicity, the mechanisms of phagocytic killing, autoimmunity, and the responses of leukocytes to tumor cells are included in these parts. Part V discusses the interactions of viruses and leukocytes and provides data on the physical mapping and analysis of sarcoma and leukemia viruses, while Part VI considers the application of leukocyte culture to problems of clinical medicine. Part VII involves the study of radiation effects, with an emphasis on the application of total lymphoid irradiation to the induction of transplantation tolerance. This part also looks into the role of the DNA repair process. Cell biologists, immunologists, and biomedical scientists and researchers will greatly benefit from this book.

Book Korovkin type Approximation Theory and Its Applications

Download or read book Korovkin type Approximation Theory and Its Applications written by Francesco Altomare and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2011-07-21 with total page 641 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The series is devoted to the publication of monographs and high-level textbooks in mathematics, mathematical methods and their applications. Apart from covering important areas of current interest, a major aim is to make topics of an interdisciplinary nature accessible to the non-specialist. The works in this series are addressed to advanced students and researchers in mathematics and theoretical physics. In addition, it can serve as a guide for lectures and seminars on a graduate level. The series de Gruyter Studies in Mathematics was founded ca. 30 years ago by the late Professor Heinz Bauer and Professor Peter Gabriel with the aim to establish a series of monographs and textbooks of high standard, written by scholars with an international reputation presenting current fields of research in pure and applied mathematics. While the editorial board of the Studies has changed with the years, the aspirations of the Studies are unchanged. In times of rapid growth of mathematical knowledge carefully written monographs and textbooks written by experts are needed more than ever, not least to pave the way for the next generation of mathematicians. In this sense the editorial board and the publisher of the Studies are devoted to continue the Studies as a service to the mathematical community. Please submit any book proposals to Niels Jacob.

Download or read book Essais de linguistique fran aise et anglaise written by Rostislav Kocourek and published by Peeters Publishers. This book was released on 2001 with total page 464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This collection of eighteen French and English linguistic essays is bilingual: French essays are followed by English summaries, and vice versa. The topics, while quite varied, belong to the lexico-semantico-textual area of linguistics. Examples of topics dealt with: lexical and terminological formation and semantics (neology, synonymy, metaphor, definition, motivation); text linguistics; English-French comparison; linguistic theory (structure, openness of the lexical system, poststructuralism); linguistics of specialized language and terminology (area in which the author has particularly gained international recognition); descriptions of the poetic language (Hugo's octopus metaphors, language and translations of a play by Shakespeare and Fletcher). The author's linguistics is reason-oriented rather than postmodern, his analysis is empirically based on texts, opting for a 'recognitive' rather than a generative approach. The language of the essays is not formalyzed, it is a clear specialized natural language. The essays are provided with extensive bibliographies and with a detailed index of terms and authors.
