Book Iniciaci n a la producci n y manejo del ganado porcino

Download or read book Iniciaci n a la producci n y manejo del ganado porcino written by Gasa, Josep and published by Servei de Publicacions de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This book was released on 2015 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Quantitative Methods for the Social Sciences

Download or read book Quantitative Methods for the Social Sciences written by Daniel Stockemer and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-11-19 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook offers an essential introduction to survey research and quantitative methods. Building on the premise that statistical methods need to be learned in a practical fashion, the book guides students through the various steps of the survey research process and helps to apply those steps toward a real example. In detail, the textbook introduces students to the four pillars of survey research and quantitative analysis: (1) the importance of survey research, (2) preparing a survey, (3) conducting a survey and (4) analyzing a survey. Students are shown how to create their own questionnaire based on some theoretically derived hypotheses to achieve empirical findings for a solid dataset. Lastly, they use said data to test their hypotheses in a bivariate and multivariate realm. The book explains the theory, rationale and mathematical foundations of these tests. In addition, it provides clear instructions on how to conduct the tests in SPSS and Stata. Given the breadth of its coverage, the textbook is suitable for introductory statistics, survey research or quantitative methods classes in the social sciences.

Book Cultural Materialism

Download or read book Cultural Materialism written by Marvin Harris and published by AltaMira Press. This book was released on 2001-08-28 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cultural Materialism, published in 1979, was Marvin Harris's first full-length explication of the theory with which his work has been associated. While Harris has developed and modified some of his ideas over the past two decades, generations of professors have looked to this volume as the essential starting point for explaining the science of culture to students. Now available again after a hiatus, this edition of Cultural Materialism contains the complete text of the original book plus a new introduction by Orna and Allen Johnson that updates his ideas and examines the impact that the book and theory have had on anthropological theorizing.

Book Advances in Fibre Production Science in South American Camelids and other Fibre Animals

Download or read book Advances in Fibre Production Science in South American Camelids and other Fibre Animals written by Martina Gerken and published by Göttingen University Press. This book was released on 2019 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Animal fibres from South American camelids and other fibre or wool bearing species provide important products for use by the human population. The contemporary context includes the competition with petrocarbon-based artificial fibres and concern about excessive persistence of these in the natural environment. Animal fibres present highly valuable characteristics for sustainable production and processing as they are both natural and renewable. On the other hand, their use is recognised to depend on availability of appropriate quality and quantity, the production of which is underpinned by a range of sciences and processes which support development to meet market requirements. This collection of papers combines international experience from South and North America, China and Europe. The focus lies on domestic South American camelids (alpacas, llamas) and also includes research on sheep and goats. It considers latest advances in sustainable development under climate change, breeding and genetics, reproduction and pathology, nutrition, meat and fibre production and fibre metrology. Publication of this book is supported by the Animal Fibre Working Group of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP). ‘Advances in Fibre Production Science in South American Camelids and other Fibre Animals’ addresses issues of importance to scientists and animal breeders, textile processors and manufacturers, specialised governmental policy makers and students studying veterinary, animal and applied biological sciences.
