Los contenidos no son otros que la realidad misma de Dios, filtrada por la figura de Jesús, centro y modelo de toda experiencia cristiana. Y el método tiene su punto de apoyo en la figura del «guía» o «maestro de oración», esa persona que se compromete a ayudar a otras ?individualmente o en grupo? para orientarlas en todos los elementos de que consta este método: la oración personal, el ritmo y la calidad de la misma, el intercambio de la experiencia para aclarar situaciones tanto favorables como desfavorables, el discernimiento, etc. Este itinerario está abierto a toda persona, joven o adulta, más o menos cultivada en su vida cristiana, o que incluso esté pasando por una crisis de fe, que quiera adentrarse personalmente en la experiencia del misterio insondable de Dios. Para todas ellas podrá ser, sin duda, una ayuda inestimable. Con estos buenos deseos, el Centro de Espiritualidad San Ignacio de Salamanca ha preparado este «Itinerario 1» que deja entrever que le seguirán otros para aquellas personas que, habiendo hecho el primero, quieran seguir profundizando en su experiencia personal de Dios.

Oliver Dunn received the PH.D. degree from Cornell University. He is Professor Emeritus in Purdue University and a longtime student of Spanish and early history of Spanish America. James E. Kelley, Jr., received the M.A. degree from American University. A mathematician and computer and management consultant by vocation, for the past twenty years he has studied the history of European cartography and navigation in late-medieval times. Both are members of the Society for the History of Discoveries and have written extensively on the history of navigation and on Columbus's first voyage, Although they remain unconvinced of its conclusions, both were consultants to the National geographic Society's 1986 effort to establish Samana Cay as the site of Columbus's first landing.
