Inicialmente examina algunos conceptos macroeconómicos básicos para la economía de cualquier país, argumentando que los riesgos financieros que tiene cualquier empresa, se deben en gran medida, a las turbulencias que en el aspecto financiero que puede tener la economía de un país, de alguna región, o incluso del mundo entero, como la última gran crisis financiera del 2008 que afectó a países y empresas a nivel mundial. Se trató de evitar en lo posible, el uso de fórmulas “complicadas”, aunque el aspecto cuantitativo de la Ingeniería Financiera es inevitable, por lo que se presenta, de manera somera, los conceptos principales del valor del dinero a través del tiempo, que a su vez son la base para comprender conceptos como valor de un punto base, duración, convexidad, sensibilidad del valor de las acciones a cambios de las tasas de interés y al vencimiento de las acciones, algunos modelos de cobertura de riesgos financieros, entre otros temas. La parte toral de la obra se centra en la forma en la cual se detectan y miden los riesgos financieros a partir de las declaraciones contables y en los tres principales instrumentos de cobertura de riesgos financieros, futuros, swaps y opciones, disponibles para cualquier empresa en las principales bolsas de valores del mundo, incluyendo la de México, por lo que también se presenta la forma en que opera, en general, una bolsa de valores, y como opera en particular, el Área de Derivados de una bolsa de valores, que es donde se negocian los instrumentos de cobertura de riesgos financieros. Para los futuros y los swaps, se presenta un ejemplo de su uso en una empresa con riesgos financieros, excluyendo de esta parte a las opciones, por considerar que son instrumentos más especulativos, aunque eventualmente se pueden utilizar para cubrir algunos riesgos financieros empresariales.

Similar to LaTeX, you can number and cross-reference these elements with bookdown. Your document can even include live examples so readers can interact with them while reading the book. The book can be rendered to multiple output formats, including LaTeX/PDF, HTML, EPUB, and Word, thus making it easy to put your documents online. The style and theme of these output formats can be customized. We used books and R primarily for examples in this book, but bookdown is not only for books or R. Most features introduced in this book also apply to other types of publications: journal papers, reports, dissertations, course handouts, study notes, and even novels. You do not have to use R, either. Other choices of computing languages include Python, C, C++, SQL, Bash, Stan, JavaScript, and so on, although R is best supported. The first is a risk assessment problem. The second relates to risk management. This book provides background on the risks relevant in water systems planning, the different approaches to scenario definition in water system planning, and an introduction to the decision-scaling methodology upon which the decision tree is based. The decision tree is described as a scientifically defensible, repeatable, direct and clear method for demonstrating the robustness of a project to climate change. While applicable to all water resources projects, it allocates effort to projects in a way that is consistent with their potential sensitivity to climate risk. The process was designed to be hierarchical, with different stages or phases of analysis triggered based on the findings of the previous phase. An application example is provided followed by a descriptions of some of the tools available for decision making under uncertainty and methods available for climate risk management. The tool was designed for the World Bank but can be applicable in other scenarios where similar challenges arise.
