Book Influence of Ethics and Integrity in Peruvian Managers Leadership Styles

Download or read book Influence of Ethics and Integrity in Peruvian Managers Leadership Styles written by Juan Cielo and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scientific interest in the leadership process has increasingly paid attention to the issues of ethics and integrity. Communities served by leaders are demanding a more ethical and inclusive leadership style. The purpose of this research proposal is to examine the relationship between ethics orientations and integrity types, as independent variables, and Peruvian managers' leadership styles, as the dependent variable. The research method involves a literature review of leadership theories, leadership styles, ethical orientations, and integrity types. The research model includes transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership styles; deontological and teleological ethical orientations; and intelligence and moral integrity types. The study will use a quantitative approach with hypotheses related to the relationships between variables. The empirical examination will be applied to Peruvian managers. The psychometric instruments will be the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire 5x - MLQ 5x (Bass & Avolio, 2004), Ethics Perspective Case Survey (Ampofo, 2004), Perceived Leader Integrity Scale - PLIS (Craig & Gustafson, 1998 ), and Aronson's Integrity Questionnaire (Aronson, 2003). Demographic information collected will be age, gender, educational level, and the number of years with the present company. Data analyses will include the use of statistical techniques such as the distribution of frequencies and descriptive statistics such as the median, mode, standard deviation, variance, Cronbach alpha, correlation, factorial analysis, scale of confidence, and multiple regressions. The software, namely, the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS v.15 ), and AMOS v.6 will be used. The research will test the relationships between deontological and teleological ethical orientations, intellectual and moral integrity types, and leadership styles.

Book The Influence of Personality Domains and Working Experience in Peruvian Managers Leadership Styles

Download or read book The Influence of Personality Domains and Working Experience in Peruvian Managers Leadership Styles written by Fernando D'Alessio and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this quantitative investigation is to examine the relationships that may exist among the five personality domains, working experience, and the three leadership styles in a sample of 500 managerial Master of Business Administration (MBA) students of a leading business school in Peru. Similar studies have previously been performed in developed countries; well-known examples come from the United States of America, Norway, Germany, Australia, Canada, and Singapore, but no such studies are found in a developing country. The Neuroticism Extraversion Openness to Experience Personality Inventory Revised (NEO-PI-R) and Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) were the instruments used for personality and leadership, respectively. In this sample, conscientiousness demonstrates the strongest and most consistent correlation with transformational (.426 ), transactional (.43 0), and passive-avoidant (-.354 ) leadership styles. Extraversion has the next highest correlation with transformational (.400) leadership styles and a weak correlation with transactional (.152) and passive-avoidant (-.166) leadership styles. Agreeableness has no significant correlation with any of the leadership styles, and openness to experience shows a significant correlation only to transformational (.201) leadership styles. Neuroticism shows weak correlations with transformational (-.214 ) and passive-avoidant (.26 7) leadership styles. Conscientiousness and extraversion may encourage individuals to emerge as leaders. Transformational and transactional leadership behaviors are demonstrated more frequently with increasing working experience.

Book The Integrity of the Servant Leader

Download or read book The Integrity of the Servant Leader written by Robert Sumi and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2016-10-04 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The impact of the global financial crisis is still being felt today and the deeply unethical behaviour of the top level leaders at those economic and financial organizations, that were at the heart of the crisis, has served to highlight the importance of integrity, and in particular the need for servant leadership, if we are to avoid another major catastrophe in the management of both commercial and non-profit organizations. Servant leadership has many features in common with transformational leadership but is primarily focused on caring about employees and their personal development. Ethical behaviour is one of the most important components of successful leadership yet this remains insufficiently investigated, especially from an interdisciplinary perspective. With the help of theory, empirical analysis and the relevant methodological apparatus, the authors fill the gap in the analysis of integrity and its impact on leadership and locate the significant factors which affect integrity in general. They develop and assess the forces that impact Servant Leadership style, as well as the ability to engender trust. As a starting point they make two assumptions: An important element in leading is the ethical dimension of leadership; The ratio of factors that affect leading and the servant leadership style is complex, but the integrity of leaders is the most important among them. The authors examine four integrated scientific areas: ethics and business ethics, human resource management and psychology and focus on the analysis of the process of leadership and the factors within that process of leading that influence its success and its ethical dimension.

Book The Effects of Leaderships Moral ethical Behavior Quality on Family and Organizational Social Capital and Organizational Health

Download or read book The Effects of Leaderships Moral ethical Behavior Quality on Family and Organizational Social Capital and Organizational Health written by Raid Alzoumah and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ninety percent of all businesses in the Gulf States are family businesses. Yet only 10%-14% survive to the third generation of leaders, due mostly to internal problems that fundamentally reflect poor leadership. This study postulates that family businesses’ poor survivability rates in Saudi Arabia are rooted in the interrelated elements of the founder(s) implicit leadership styles (traits and moral/ethical orientation), the leadership’s influence developing the organization’s culture, and the failure of the leadership to successfully balance family, business, and individual stakeholders’ interests. The research question is: Do the founder(s) moral/ethical qualities of leadership have significant positive/negative effects on the integrity and cohesion of the family (social capital), protection of ownership assets and business growth (organizational capital), and the preservation of the organizational health of the family company? Moreover, what happens when the ethical systems of the founding leadership are ‘nonaligned’? The study is an ethnographic case study of one multinational family business in Saudi Arabia (700 employees in five cities) founded in the 1970s by two brothers, conducted by a founder’s son who is a company senior officer. The study hypothesis is: unethical leadership will have a significant corrosive effect on the family relationships, the business, and stakeholders/employees because of the unethical founder’s power-position/authority and proximity to the families and stakeholders. Tools of analysis include a pre-validated 66-question survey (Organizational Leadership Assessment) to measure the quality of leadership along a scale of autocratic, paternalistic and servant-leadership, and leadership’s effect on the company’s “organizational health” and job satisfaction. The Assessments were completed in October 2017 and November 2019. Also utilized are perceptions charts of the business and family performance, which measure the emotional ties between the among the two founders’ sons, the strengths and weaknesses of the individual leadership of the two founders’ sons; and the Olson’s Circumplex Model which reflects the “cohesion” of the two founders’ families. There are also: Family Firm Symptom Check List, Questionnaire on the Leadership Styles of the 2 Founders for the 2nd generation leaders, Leadership Characteristics and Effectiveness of the case study’s Family Business CEO and COO, Questionnaire on the Leadership values related to OLA 6 values, KPMG Gulf Family Business Survey, and a Family Health Index.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These chapters on ‘Responsible Leadership’ represent the latest thinking on a topic of increasing relevance in a connected world. There are many challenges that still remain when it comes to establishing responsible leadership both in theory and practice. Whilst offering conceptualisations for the improvement of leadership is a first and perhaps easier response, what is more difficult is to facilitate the actual change to happen. These chapters will not only generate interest in the emerging domain of studies on responsible leadership, but also will pave the way for future research in this area in the years to come. Book Ethical Leadership and Decision Making in Education

Download or read book Ethical Leadership and Decision Making in Education written by Joan Poliner Shapiro and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-11-29 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fifth edition of the best-selling text, Ethical Leadership and Decision Making in Education, continues to address the increasing interest in ethics and assists educational leaders with complex dilemmas in today’s challenging, divided, and diverse societies. Through discussion and analysis, Shapiro and Stefkovich demonstrate the application of four ethical paradigms – the ethics of justice, critique, care, and the profession. After illustrating how the Multiple Ethical Paradigms may be applied to authentic dilemmas, the authors present cases written by graduate students, practitioners, and academics representing dilemmas faced by educational leaders in urban, suburban, and rural public and private schools and universities, in the U.S. and abroad. Following each case are questions that call for thoughtful, complex thinking and help readers apply the Multiple Ethical Paradigms to practical situations. New in the Fifth Edition are more than ten new cases that cover issues of food insufficiency, the pandemic’s effects on diverse school populations, a student’s sexual orientation, transgender students in the university, lock-down drills for young children, refugees in a Swedish school, boundaries in high school sports, generational differences in an adult diploma school, acceptance of animals on campus, and hate speech in the academy. This edition also includes teaching notes for the instructor stressing the importance of self-reflection, use of new technologies, and global appeal of ethical paradigms and dilemmas. This book is a critical resource for aspiring and practicing administrators, teacher leaders, and educational policy makers.

Book Leadership Gender and Organization

Download or read book Leadership Gender and Organization written by Mollie Painter-Morland and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-04-23 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text provides perspectives on the way in which gender plays a role in leadership dynamics and ethics within organizations. It seeks to offer new theoretical models for thinking about leadership and organizational influence. Most studies of women’s leadership draw on an ethics of care as characteristic of the way women lead, but as such, it tends towards essentialist gender stereotypes and does little to explain the complex systemic variables that influence the functioning of women within organizations. This book moves beyond the canon in exploring alternative paradigms for thinking about leadership and gender in organizations. The authors draw on the literature available in systems thinking, systemic leadership, and gender theory to offer alternative perspectives for thinking about the ways women lead. The book offers invaluable theoretical perspectives and insightful narratives to graduate students and researchers who are interested in women’s leadership, gender and organization. It will be of interest to all women in leadership positions, but specifically to those interested in understanding the systemic nature of leadership and their role within it.
