Download or read book Influence des pertes thermiques sur les performances des turbomachines written by Kouadio Alphonse Diango and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Turbomachinery Performance Analysis

Download or read book Turbomachinery Performance Analysis written by R. I. Lewis and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 1996 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This modern overview to performance analysis places aero- and fluid-dynamic treatments, such as cascade and meridional flow analyses, within the broader context of turbomachine performance analysis. For the first time ducted propellers are treated formally within the general family of turbomachines. It also presents a new approach to the use of dimensional analysis which links the overall requirements, such as flow and head, through velocity triangles to blade element loading and related fluid dynamics within a unifying framework linking all aspects of performance analysis for a wide range of turbomachine types. Computer methods are introduced in the main text and a key chapter on axial turbine performance analysis is complemented by the inclusion of 3 major computer programs on an accompanying disc. These enable the user to generate and modify design data through a graphic interface to assess visually the impact on predicted performance and are designed as a Computer Aided Learning Suite for student project work at the professional designer level. Based on the author's many years of teaching at degree level and extensive research experience, this book is a must for all students and professional engineers involved with turbomachinery.

Book Modeling and Simulation of Thermal Power Plants with ThermoSysPro

Download or read book Modeling and Simulation of Thermal Power Plants with ThermoSysPro written by Baligh El Hefni and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-01-24 with total page 502 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explains the modelling and simulation of thermal power plants, and introduces readers to the equations needed to model a wide range of industrial energy processes. Also featuring a wealth of illustrative, real-world examples, it covers all types of power plants, including nuclear, fossil-fuel, solar and biomass. The book is based on the authors’ expertise and experience in the theory of power plant modelling and simulation, developed over many years of service with EDF. In more than forty examples, they demonstrate the component elements involved in a broad range of energy production systems, with detailed test cases for each chemical, thermodynamic and thermo-hydraulic model. Each of the test cases includes the following information: • component description and parameterization data; • modelling hypotheses and simulation results; • fundamental equations and correlations, with their validity domains; • model validation, and in some cases, experimental validation; and • single-phase flow and two-phase flow modelling equations, which cover all water and steam phases. A practical volume that is intended for a broad readership, from students and researchers, to professional engineers, this book offers the ideal handbook for the modelling and simulation of thermal power plants. It is also a valuable aid in understanding the physical and chemical phenomena that govern the operation of power plants and energy processes.

Book Boundary Layer Effects in Turbomachines

Download or read book Boundary Layer Effects in Turbomachines written by Jean Surugue and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report is a study organized by the AGARD Propulsion and Energetics Panel with the collaboration of the Fluid Dynamics Panel and contains the papers, discussions and conclusions from the culminating meeting held at ONERA, France, during April 1972. The study provided opportunities for fruitful exchanges between aerodynamicists and engine specialists concerned with turbomachines, from the major aeronautical nations within NATO. The study resulted in clarification of the current states of knowledge within the two specialities relevant to turbomachines and highlighted the interest and importance of past and current research, while the discussions indicated a number of avenues for further work. Book Prediction of Turbulent Flows

Download or read book Prediction of Turbulent Flows written by Geoff Hewitt and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2005-06-08 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The prediction of turbulent flows is of paramount importance in the development of complex engineering systems involving flow, heat and mass transfer, and chemical reactions. Arising from a programme held at the Isaac Newton Institute in Cambridge, this volume reviews the current situation regarding the prediction of such flows through the use of modern computational fluid dynamics techniques, and attempts to address the inherent problem of modelling turbulence. In particular, the current physical understanding of such flows is summarised and the resulting implications for simulation discussed. The volume continues by surveying current approximation methods whilst discussing their applicability to industrial problems. This major work concludes by providing a specific set of guidelines for selecting the most appropriate model for a given problem. Unique in its breadth and critical approach, this book will be of immense value to experienced practitioners and researchers, continuing the UK's strong tradition in fluid dynamics.
