Book Industrial Solid Wastes

Download or read book Industrial Solid Wastes written by A. D. Patwardhan and published by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). This book was released on 2013-01-01 with total page 199 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Industrial solid wastes, unlike liquid effluents and gaseous emissions, receive relatively less attention in terms of treatment, reuse, recycle, and recovery of useful by-products. These solid wastes have great potential for recovery and reuse. Predominantly organic wastes can be effectively treated by biological means to yield useful end products like methane gas as fuel and digested slurry as soil conditioner. Inert materials like plastics are effectively blended with other building materials, thereby improving the quality of the finished product and at least partially solving the problem of disposal of plastics. Inorganic wastes are excellent candidates for recovery of reusable building materials like sand and fine aggregate. Recycling of useful components from e-wastes goes a long way in reducing environmental pollution by toxic and hazardous wastes. This book places before the reader different ways and means used by scientists and engineers to minimize pollution of our natural resources and their overexploitation.

Book Industrial Solid Waste Recycling in Western China

Download or read book Industrial Solid Waste Recycling in Western China written by Fenglan Han and published by Springer. This book was released on 2020-08-14 with total page 391 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces the latest results in research and practice of industrial solid waste recycling in China's western regions, where more than 50% of the waste in the whole country was produced. With rapid development in recent years, the massive industrial solid waste has become a serious problem in China. This book summarizes information and results of several National Research Programs of China concerning the typical solid wastes of the metallurgical and energy industry in western China, such as magnesium slag, manganese slag, acid sludge of lead and zinc smelting, fly ash, steel slag and carbide slag. It will be highly beneficial to scholars and engineers of environmental science and engineering.

Book Industrial Waste Treatment Handbook

Download or read book Industrial Waste Treatment Handbook written by Woodard & Curran Woodard & Curran Inc. and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2011-08-30 with total page 533 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Industrial Waste Treatment Handbook provides the most reliable methodology for identifying which waste types are produced from particular industrial processes and how they can be treated. There is a thorough explanation of the fundamental mechanisms by which pollutants become dissolved or become suspended in water or air. Building on this knowledge, the reader will learn how different treatment processes work, how they can be optimized, and the most efficient method for selecting candidate treatment processes. Utilizing the most up-to-date examples from recent work at one of the leading environmental and science consulting firms, this book also illustrates approaches to solve various environmental quality problems and the step-by-step design of facilities. - Practical applications to assist with the selection of appropriate treatment technology for target pollutants - Includes case studies based on current work by experts in waste treatment, disposal, management, environmental law and data management - Provides glossary and table of acronyms for easy reference

Book Quad City Solid Wastes Project

Download or read book Quad City Solid Wastes Project written by William Thomas Ingram and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Project work reported here has two prime purposes; the first is that of finding a legal pathway that will permit four communities with a combined population now approaching 350,000 to manage jointly a total solid waste program. The second is that of developing technically for the Quad-City Community the most efficient, least expensive, and best controlled methods for treating and disposing of the total solid waste generated in the region. Our work for the past year has been dedicated to these purposes. We believe that steady progress has been made and that our plans for meeting the Quad-City Community need are fast approaching realization.

Book Waste Management and Resource Recovery
