Book Industrial Cooperation between East and West

Download or read book Industrial Cooperation between East and West written by Friedrich Levcik and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-09-08 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title was first published in 1979. A number of valuable and interesting publications have appeared in the last few years on East-West cooperation. These studies, which by means of interviews and direct contacts with the firms concerned have shed some light on a subject that in the past had remained little known, also provided us with extremely valuable incentives. Most of these studies dealt only with individual aspects of cooperation, particularly the legal and microeconomic aspects. The quantitative data used, however, did not easily lend themselves to comparison. Eastern European studies more often contained the views of the respective governments than the experiences of enterp rises involved in cooperative undertakings. In this book the authors have attempted to provide a unified picture of the most important problems of East-West cooperation. The motivations and goals of those concerned, in all their m icroeconomic, macroeconomic, commercial, and political aspects, are brought together with the pertinent legal and institutional factors and are analyzed.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Partners in East-West Economic Relations: The Determinants of Choice covers the proceedings of an international conference of the same name held at Montebello, Quebec on April 26-29, 1978. This conference brings together various professionals to address contemporary international economic relations issues. One of the three major issues tackled in this compilation is the reintegration of the economics of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe into the international division of labor. This compendium also studies the determinants of the choice of partners in East-West relations at the national and subnational levels. The last major topic concerned in this selection is the similarities and differences between partnerships in the East-West and North-South contexts. This compendium will be of interest to those interested in economics and related disciplines.

Book Economic Warfare Or Detente

Download or read book Economic Warfare Or Detente written by Reinhard Rode and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-03-04 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyzes East-West economic and political relations in the context of the policies of the major Eastern and Western countries. The authors, a group of international scholars, examine the potential use of East-West trade as an instrument to influence Eastern policies, and they assess the effects of U.S. unilateral imposition of embargoes and sanctions against the Soviet Union and Eastern European countries. They conclude that although East-West economic relations suffer during times of increased international tension, trade between them is an important stabilizing element.

Book France and the German Question 1945 1990

Download or read book France and the German Question 1945 1990 written by Frédéric Bozo and published by Berghahn Books. This book was released on 2019-07-12 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the immediate aftermath of World War Two, the victors were unable to agree on Germany’s fate, and the separation of the country—the result of the nascent Cold War—emerged as a de facto, if provisional, settlement. Yet East and West Germany would exist apart for half a century, making the "German question" a central foreign policy issue—and given the war-torn history between the two countries, this was felt no more keenly than in France. Drawing on the most recent historiography and previously untapped archival sources, this volume shows how France’s approach to the German question was, for the duration of the Cold War, both more constructive and consequential than has been previously acknowledged.
