Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Challenge: “I attempted to shed English blood intentionally and of purpose, as a humble protest against the inhuman transportations and hangings of Indian youth. In this attempt I consulted none but my own conscience; conspired with none but my own duty. I believe that a nation unwillingly held down by foreign bayonets is in a perpetual state of war. Since open battle is rendered impossible I attacked by surprise - since canon could not be had I drew forth and fired a revolver. As a Hindu I feel that the slavery of my nation is an insult to my God. Her cause is the cause of freedom. Her service is the service of Sri Krishna. Neither rich nor able, a poor son like myself can offer nothing but his blood on the altar of Mother’s deliverance and so I rejoice at the prospect of my martyrdom. The only lesson required in India is to learn how to die and the only way to teach it is by dying alone. The soul is immortal and if everyone of my countrymen takes at least two lives of Englishmen before his body falls the Mother’s salvation is a day’s work. This war ceases not only with the independence of India alone, it shall continue as long as the English and Hindu races exists in this world. Until our country is free Sri Krishna stands exhorting, if you are killed you, attain heaven; if successful you win the earth. It is my fervent prayer, may I be reborn of the same mother, and may I re-die in the same sacred cause, till my mission is done and She stands free for the good of humanity and to the glory of God.” —Madan Lal Dhingra Immerse yourself in the gripping tale of Madan Lal Dhingra, a courageous freedom fighter who sacrificed his life for India's independence struggle. Book The Great Indian Genius Har Dayal

Download or read book The Great Indian Genius Har Dayal written by Bhuvan Lall and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2020-01-11 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a lost episode of Indian history. Before Bose, much before Nehru and even before Mahatma Gandhi...there was Har Dayal. On the morning of December 23rd, 1912, a powerful bomb targeted at the Viceroy Lord Hardinge exploded as he entered the new capital city of Delhi. Though the assassination bid failed it brought back the spectre of the Ghadr of 1857 and challenged the might of the British Empire. The British Secret Service connected the bomb outrage to the brain of Har Dayal (1884-1939) a former Stanford University lecturer based in San Francisco. The history of the Indian freedom struggle has produced no greater enigma than this heroic leader. Har Dayal was the architect of the largest international anti-colonial resistance movement - the Ghadr Party, with its nerve center in California. His mission was to destroy the British Empire by an armed revolt and his weapon of choice was the colossal power of his intellect. Cerebrally light-years ahead, Har Dayal a super brilliant scholar at Oxford and St. Stephen's College was eloquent in seventeen languages and an author par excellence. Exiled from India for life Har Dayal became Ghadr personified. This gentleman revolutionary was the first Indian to teach at American and Swedish universities and an extraordinary mix of an Anarchist and a Pacifist, a Sanskritist and a Rationalist, a Marxist and a Buddhist, a Feminist and a Humanist as also an ultranationalist and an internationalist. For millions who sought to emulate the quintessential Dilliwallah, he was The Great Indian Genius.

Download or read book Unsung Stories of Indian Freedom Movement written by Mahesh Sharma and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-05-31 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: British East India Company came to India as traders but became the rulers of the country. Slowly, they turned the face of our natural wealth towards their own country. The raw material was imported from here to Britain and the finished product ready for sale came to India. In this very way, they kept on exploiting the wealth of India. During the struggle for independence, movements sometimes became sweet and sometimes sour. Tribal people had to do violent movements from their traditional weapons to sustain. Farmers fought in both violent and non-violent ways. The Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 proved to be a milestone. The brave warrior Mangal Pandey sacrificed his life, which added fuel to the fire, which made other warriors like Nana Sahib, Queen of Jhansi Laxmi Bai, Tantya tope, Bahadur Shah Jafar too made precious sacrifices. Soon after this revolt, the rule of East India Company ended and the administration of India fell into the hands of the Queen of England. Further, revolutionists like Chandra Shekhar Azad, Subhash Chandra Bose, Ashfkullah Khan, Batukeshwar Dutt, Khudiram Bose adopted the policy of Tit for tat and taught Britishers in their language. National Leader, Bal Gangadhar Tilak gave a public outlook to Ganesh Mahotsav and added lakhs of people to this movement. Mahatma Gandhi started a movement of independence from Champaran and adopted non-violence and Satyagraha as his basic principles. His movements like Swadeshi, Home rule, Non-cooperation, Dandi march and August Kranti sparked a new consciousness in the people of India towards the spirit of independence which made people join together, advancing towards freedom. After thousands of sacrifices and movements, India finally got freedom but the Britishers divided our country into two parts and gave us such a wound while going which continues to give us pain even today and is as fresh as ever. The book describes some of the most important movements, which is like a short document of various movements related to Indian independence.
