Book In Defence of Jesus the Christ

Download or read book In Defence of Jesus the Christ written by G. C. Ezeigwe and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2021-09-23 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book of mine diligently but strictly challenges another book that viciously insults God, Jesus Christ and Christianity in various matters. Some of the matters: - God does not exist – Jesus was a fiction, he was no son of God, he was a trickster, a criminal. He depended upon the power of witchcraft for his miracles. His teaching is responsible for the backwardness of African countries. If his death washes away our sins. Judas Iscariot and the Jews are to be praised not blamed. He escaped crucifixion (someone else died in is place) and elope with Mary Magdalene to Europe and married her. The insult goes on. In addition to challenging the book, my book reveals the history of Jesus early life, unaccounted for in the popular Christian Bible, explains the difference between the status of Jesus and the status of Christ. Looks into the real meaning of “forbidden fruit” the Holy Trinity, the virgin birth, reincarnation, good Friday, compares Christianity (from emperor Constantine era to our present time) to paganism, considers who took over from Peter, the apostle of Jesus, and give the true meaning of Sabbath. Finally, my book outlines the legacies of Jesus Christ to the world. To Christian my book is a buttress. To non-Christians, it is an enticing invitation to come to Christian fold and taste and see that God is good.

Book excerpt: An enlightening follow-up to the bestselling book The Case for Christ, In Defense of Jesus follows award-winning journalist Lee Strobel as he explores the most explosive arguments against the identity of Christ as the Messiah. Has modern scholarship debunked the traditional Christ? Has the church suppressed the truth about Jesus to advance its own agenda? What if the real Jesus is far different from the atoning Savior worshiped through the centuries? In Defense of Jesus explores such hot-button questions as: Did the church suppress ancient non-biblical documents that paint a more accurate picture of Jesus than the four Gospels? Did the church distort the truth about Jesus by tampering with early New Testament texts? Do new insights and explanations disprove the resurrection? Have fresh arguments disqualified Jesus from being the Messiah? Did Christianity steal its core ideas from earlier mythology? Evaluate the arguments and evidence being advanced by prominent atheists, liberal theologians, Muslim scholars, and others. Sift through expert testimony. Then reach your own verdict with In Defense of Jesus. This title is also available in Spanish, En defense de Jesús.

Book excerpt: A fresh look at the earliest Christian movement reveals what made the new faith so compelling...and what we need to change today to make it so again. Once upon a time there was a version of the Christian faith that was practically irresistible. After all, what could be more so than the gospel that Jesus ushered in? Why, then, isn't it the same with Christianity today? Author and pastor Andy Stanley is deeply concerned with the present-day church and its future. He believes that many of the solutions to our issues can be found by investigating our roots. In Irresistible, Andy chronicles what made the early Jesus Movement so compelling, resilient, and irresistible by answering these questions: What did first-century Christians know that we don't—about God's Word, about their lives, about love? What did they do that we're not doing? What makes Christianity so resistible in today's culture? What needs to change in order to repeat the growth our faith had at its beginning? Many people who leave or disparage the faith cite reasons that have less to do with Jesus than with the conduct of his followers. It's time to hit pause and consider the faith modeled by our first-century brothers and sisters who had no official Bible, no status, and little chance of survival. It's time to embrace the version of faith that initiated—against all human odds—a chain of events resulting in the most significant and extensive cultural transformation the world has ever seen. This is a version of Christianity we must remember and re-embrace if we want to be salt and light in an increasingly savorless and dark world.

Download or read book In Defense of the Cross of Christ written by Steven Holley and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2013-11 with total page 229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who are enemies of the cross, and who are defenders of the faith? In Defense of the Cross of Christ is a wake-up call to sleeping Christians who keep hitting the conviction snooze button of God's command for obedience and holiness through His grace that compels us and equips us to personify Jesus in selfless love. In Defense of the Cross of Christ is an uncompromising warning to church leaders who have invaded the church with humanistic thinking and become stumbling blocks for babes in Christ while deceiving others to follow their pernicious ways of iniquity and to rejoice in it. Over a decade in preparation, In Defense of the Cross of Christ is now ready for you. The question is, are you ready for it? "I know of no other current author who addresses the issue of iniquity among the body of Christ as clearly and concisely as it is dealt with in this work. Just as importantly, I testify that the words written have the testimony of the Spirit by the demonstration of a life lived by the principles here taught." Corey Dawes, Father's Honor Ministry "With passion and conviction, Steven has presented an excellent defense of the cross. Through Scripture and his insight, the reader is drawn to move away from elementary teachings of Scripture and toward deeper water by allowing the love of Christ to guide every decision of their lives. In Defense of the Cross of Christ is intended for slow digestion so the reader may obtain the full nutrients it contains." Kevin Clouse, pastor and writer, First Church of God
