Book Multi Agent Systems and Applications IV

Download or read book Multi Agent Systems and Applications IV written by Michal Pechoucek and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-09-06 with total page 684 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of the CEEMAS conference series is to provide a biennial forum for the presentation of multi-agent research and development results. With its p- ticular geographicalorientation towards Central and Eastern Europe, CEEMAS has become an internationally recognised event with participants from all over the world. After the successful CEEMAS conferences in St. Petersburg (1999), Cracow (2001) and Prague (2003), the 2005 CEEMAS conference takes place in Budapest. The programme committee of the conference series consists of est- lished researchers from the region and renowned international colleagues, sh- ing the prominent rank of CEEMAS among the leading events in multi-agent systems. In the very competitive ?eld of agent oriented conferences and workshops nowadays(suchasAAMAS,WI/IAT,EUMAS,CIA,MATES)thespecialpro?le of CEEMAS is that it is trying to bridge the gap between applied research achievements and theoretical research activities. Our ambition is to provide a forum for presenting theoretical research with an evident application potential, implemented application prototypes and their properties, as well as industrial case studies of successful (but also unsuccessful) agent technology deployments. This is why the CEEMAS proceedings volume provides a collection of research and application papers. The technical research paper section of the proceedings (see pages 11–499) contains pure research papers as well as research results in application settings while the application papers section (see pages 500–530) contains papers focused on application aspects. The goal is to demonstrate the real life value and commercial reality of multi-agent systems as well as to foster communication between academia and industry in this ?eld.

Book Skill Based reconfiguration of industrial mobile robots

Download or read book Skill Based reconfiguration of industrial mobile robots written by Stefanie Angerer and published by Cuvillier Verlag. This book was released on 2012-07-23 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Caused by a rising mass customisation and the high variety of equipment versions, the flexibility of manufacturing systems in car production has to be increased. In this thesis a skill-based reconfiguration mechanism is presented to enhance functional reconfigurability of industrial mobile robots. A novel reconfiguration mechanism allows to react self-organised to functional process changes. The result of this mechanism is the on-line integration of new robot functionalities into the current manufacturing process while maintaining the productivity of the mobile robot. Applied to an industrial mobile robot that is provided by AUDI AG, the suggested mechanism is validated in a real-world environment including the on-line verification of the reconfigured robot functionality in a Validity Check.

Book New Trends in Agent Based Complex Automated Negotiations

Download or read book New Trends in Agent Based Complex Automated Negotiations written by Takayuki Ito and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-10-08 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Complex Automated Negotiations represent an important, emerging area in the field of Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems. Automated negotiations can be complex, since there are a lot of factors that characterize such negotiations. These factors include the number of issues, dependencies between these issues, representation of utilities, the negotiation protocol, the number of parties in the negotiation (bilateral or multi-party), time constraints, etc. Software agents can support automation or simulation of such complex negotiations on the behalf of their owners, and can provide them with efficient bargaining strategies. To realize such a complex automated negotiation, we have to incorporate advanced Artificial Intelligence technologies includes search, CSP, graphical utility models, Bayes nets, auctions, utility graphs, predicting and learning methods. Applications could include e-commerce tools, decision-making support tools, negotiation support tools, collaboration tools, etc. This book aims to provide a description of the new trends in Agent-based, Complex Automated Negotiation, based on the papers from leading researchers. Moreover, it gives an overview of the latest scientific efforts in this field, such as the platform and strategies of automated negotiating techniques.

Book Agent Based Defeasible Control in Dynamic Environments

Download or read book Agent Based Defeasible Control in Dynamic Environments written by John-Jules Ch. Meyer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume, the 7th volume in the DRUMS Handbook series, is part of the aftermath of the successful ESPRIT project DRUMS (Defeasible Reasoning and Uncertainty Management Systems) which took place in two stages from 1989- 1996. In the second stage (1993-1996) a work package was introduced devoted to the topics Reasoning and Dynamics, covering both the topics of "Dynamics of Reasoning", where reasoning is viewed as a process, and "Reasoning about Dynamics", which must be understood as pertaining to how both designers of and agents within dynamic systems may reason about these systems. The present volume presents work done in this context extended with some work done by outstanding researchers outside the project on related issues. While the previous volume in this series had its focus on the dynamics of reasoning pro cesses, the present volume is more focused on "reasoning about dynamics', viz. how (human and artificial) agents reason about (systems in) dynamic environments in order to control them. In particular we consider modelling frameworks and generic agent models for modelling these dynamic systems and formal approaches to these systems such as logics for agents and formal means to reason about agent based and compositional systems, and action & change more in general. We take this opportunity to mention that we have very pleasant recollections of the project, with its lively workshops and other meetings, with the many sites and researchers involved, both within and outside our own work package.
