Por esta razón existe la función de protección para pérdida de sincronismo o out-of-step (ANSI 78) que reconoce si el comportamiento de la impedancia vista por el generador tiene un comportamiento característico dada una oscilación de potencia inestable generando una orden de apertura en el relé.
