Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES, WALL STREET JOURNAL, AND USA TODAY BESTSELLER "This book will shine new light on your journey, ignite your practice with new power, inspire new possibilities for growth, and infuse your life with the grace and confidence you seek." --Baron Baptiste A little over a decade ago, Baron Baptiste published his seminal book, Journey into Power. The first of its kind, it introduced the world to Baptiste Yoga, his signature method that marries a lifetime of studying with some of the world's most renowned yoga masters with his uniquely powerful approach to inner and outer transformation. Since then, yoga has steadily moved into the mainstream in our culture, and Baron's unique contribution has played a key role. With Perfectly Imperfect, he proves once again to be a true yoga master for the modern world.

Book excerpt: As a response to the high-dollar billet-based street rod trend, budget-limited home builders looked to the past for inspiration and style, and Rat Rods were the result. These 'imperfectly fine' rods rarely sport paint jobs of any kind, and their owners aren't scared to drive them. They represent a rebellious attitude, but never take anything too seriously either. Rat Rods are high on style but low on budget, and that's why so many love them. Rat Rod's: Rodding's Imperfect Stepchildren is a celebration of this trend, and just as importantly, the lifestyle that accompanies it.

Book Imperfect Chemistry A Nerdy Romantic Comedy

Download or read book Imperfect Chemistry A Nerdy Romantic Comedy written by Mary Frame and published by Mary Frame. This book was released on 2014-04-23 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First in series! Can be read as a stand alone novel! If you like nerdy romantic comedies with strong female leads this is the book for you! Lucy London puts the word genius to shame. Having obtained her PhD in microbiology by the age of twenty, she's amassed a wealth of knowledge, but one subject still eludes her—people. The pendulum of passions experienced by those around her both confuses and intrigues her, so when she’s offered a grant to study emotion as a pathogen, she jumps on the opportunity. When her attempts to come up with an actual experiment quickly drop from lackluster to nonexistent, she’s given a choice: figure out how to conduct a groundbreaking study on passion, or lose both the grant and her position at the university. Put on leave until she can crack the perfect proposal, she finds there’s only one way she can study emotions—by experiencing them herself. Enter Jensen Walker, Lucy's neighbor and the one person on the planet she finds strangely and maddeningly appealing. Jensen's life is the stuff of campus legend, messy, emotional, complicated—in short, the perfect starting point for Lucy's study. When her tenaciousness wears him down and he consents to help her, sparks fly. To her surprise, Lucy finds herself battling with her own emotions, as foreign as they are intense. With the clock ticking on her deadline, Lucy must decide what's more important: analyzing her passions...or giving in to them? "Perfectly imperfect characters and situations make Frame's debut novel sparkle...there's a very real sense of character growth, brought to life by an evolving narrative style that parallels Lucy's metamorphosis. The blend of humor and heart makes for a thoughtful, highly entertaining read." --Publishers Weekly keywords: college romance, new adult, genius heroine, found family, women friendships, girl next door, boy next door, romantic comedy, friends to lovers, chick lit

Book Love Imperfectly Known

    Book Details:
  • Author : Brother Emmanuel of Taizé
  • Publisher : A&C Black
  • Release : 2011-05-19
  • ISBN : 1441116370
  • Pages : 194 pages

Download or read book Love Imperfectly Known written by Brother Emmanuel of Taizé and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2011-05-19 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This unique work analyzes the crisis in modern society, building on the ideas of the Frankfurt School thinkers. Emphasizing social evolution and learning processes, it argues that crisis is mediated by social class conflicts and collective learning, the results of which are embodied in constitutional and public law. First, the work outlines a new categorical framework of critical theory in which it is conceived as a theory of crisis. It shows that the Marxist focus on economy and on class struggle is too narrow to deal with the range of social conflicts within modern society, and posits that a crisis of legitimization is at the core of all crises. It then discusses the dialectic of revolutionary and evolutionary developmental processes of modern society and its legal system. This volume in the Critical Theory and Contemporary Society by a leading scholar in the field provides a new approach to critical theory that will appeal to anyone studying political sociology, political theory, and law.

Book Theories of Imperfectly Competitive Markets

Download or read book Theories of Imperfectly Competitive Markets written by Luis Corchon and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most fascinating debates of our times is the discussion over the merits and capabilities of market economies. Very often, one sees strong endorsements to the idea that markets provide an efficient way of allocating resources. Some years ago, opposite views on this issue used to be very popular (at least in Europe) and were held by similarly qualified people. In my opinion, the contribution of economics to this question can not be dismissed on the grounds that economics still in its infancy and that this question is a "practical" one (whatever this means). Economics started with similar naive ideas, two hundred years ago. In particular it has taken a long time to realize that competition does not work in such a smooth way as many classical writers thought it did, and that many facts can not be explained by the theory of perfectly competitive markets. This issue is explored at depth in the Introduction to this Lectures. In this sense the contribution of the Theory of industrial Organization has been to make a convincing case for the view that monopoly and oligopoly can persist in the long run in a world populated by rational agents. Despite of the fact that we are far from having a satisfactory theory of how markets work, progress has been immense, and we certainly understand why current theories are still not completely satisfactory.
