The contaminants of concern are radionuclides in the uranium & thorium decay series, nickel, and arsenic. Receptors of concern include both aquatic & terrestrial biota, but human health concerns are not included. Emphasis is placed on information from Canadian uranium mine/mill sites. Sections of the review cover the following: background on cumulative effects assessment & environmental monitoring; documented biophysical effects of Canadian uranium mines; radiation effects in non-human biota; and effects of uranium, arsenic, and nickel on non- human biota. The final section discusses general data gaps and makes recommendations fur further research.
