Book Impact Tester Compliance

Download or read book Impact Tester Compliance written by F. Porro and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 13 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The compliance is very sensitive to internal mechanical factors concerning the load system, as the hammer, the tup, the anvils and the base to foundation attachement. In order to verify the sensitivity of compliance measurements, a series of experimental tests has been performed, with artificial and real defect located at the most critical parts. In order to overcame the need of an instrumented impact tester an instrumented specimen has been prepared, together with its electronic system for impact tester compliance measurement. The compliance measurement, after verification of the impact tester with direct and indirect methods, as per ASTM E 23 or ISO R 442, can be helpful for verification of the good working condition of the pendulum and for the detection of onset of anomalies.

Book Calculation Guidelines for Impact Testing

Download or read book Calculation Guidelines for Impact Testing written by Safety Test Instrumentation Standards Committee and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This SAE Recommended Practice presents a series of standard calculations and numerical methods for processing safety test instrumentation data that has been acquired during impact tests with instruments installed in ATD's (crash test dummies), vehicle structures, and laboratory fixtures. The output data from performing these calculations may have applications that include energy analysis, biomechanical analysis, regulation compliance, or other purposes. However, application of the output data from these calculations is outside the scope of this document. It is the intent of this document to present a basic set of calculations that are applicable to test labs that follow the practices set forth by SAE J211-1, SAE J211-2, SAE J2570, and SAE J1733. For the calculations that are described in other sources, the relevant documents are referenced. The committee reviewed this Recommended Practice to determine what changes were necessary to include the set of calculations, methods, and indexes that are typically calculated by labs performing impact tests. The major changes are outlined below.ECE R94 was added to the list of references.FIA Procedure for the Approval of Safety Structures was added to the list of references.

Book Instrumentation for Impact Test

Download or read book Instrumentation for Impact Test written by Safety Test Instrumentation Standards Committee and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This SAE Recommended Practice outlines a series of performance recommendations which concern the whole data channel. These recommendations are not subject to any variation and all of them should be adhered to by any agency conducting tests to this practice. However, the method of demonstrating compliance with the recommendations is flexible and can be adapted to suit the needs of the particular equipment the agency is using. It is not intended that each recommendation be taken in a literal sense, as necessitating a single test to demonstrate that the recommendation is met. Rather, it is intended that any agency proposing to conduct tests to this document should be able to demonstrate that if such a single test could be and were carried out, then their equipment would meet the recommendations. This demonstration should be undertaken on the basis of reasonable deductions from evidence in their possession, such as the results of partial tests. In some systems it may be necessary to divide the whole channel into subsystems for calibration and checking purposes. The recommendations have been written only for the whole channel, as this is the sole route by which subsystem performances affect the quality of the output. If it is difficult to measure the whole channel performance, which is usually the case, the test agency may treat the channel as two or more convenient subsystems. The whole channel performance could then be demonstrated on the basis of subsystem results, together with a rationale for combining the subsystem results together. SAE J211/1 covers electronic instrumentation and SAE J211/2 covers photographic instrumentation. The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines and recommendations for the techniques of measurement used in impact tests. The aim is to achieve uniformity in instrumentation practice and in reporting test results. Use of this document will provide a basis for meaningful comparisons of test results from different sources.

Book Mechanical Behaviour of Materials VI

Download or read book Mechanical Behaviour of Materials VI written by Masahiro Jōno and published by Pergamon. This book was released on 1992 with total page 784 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Significant progress in the science and technology of the mechanical behaviour of materials has been made in recent years. The greatest strides forward have occurred in the field of advanced materials with high performance, such as ceramics, composite materials, and intermetallic compounds. The Sixth International Conference on Mechanical Behaviour of Materials (ICM-6), taking place in Kyoto, Japan, 29 July - 2 August 1991 addressed these issues. In commemorating the fortieth anniversary of the Japan Society of Materials Science, organised by the Foundation for Advancement of International Science and supported by the Science Council of Japan, the information provided in these proceedings reflects the international nature of the meeting. It provides a valuable account of recent developments and problems in the field of mechanical behaviour of materials.
