In this book, the following are seen as some characteristic behaviors that could distinguish a competitive and skillful leaders from others. When you are visible in the organization, know how to handle diversity, set expectations and most importantly know how to communicate and listen to your customers and employees, the result is always good for the organization. People begin to feel valued, respected and their sense of belonging begins to improve. The impact of employee feelings and perceptions will be seen on how they feel about the organization in general. Book Working environment and productivity

Download or read book Working environment and productivity written by Lars Foldspang and published by Nordic Council of Ministers. This book was released on 2014-07-04 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Globalisation and demographic trends underline the twin challenge of the Nordics with productivity stagnation and a decreasing work force. Increasing productivity and the work force will be an answer to both. A good work environment can do both: If less people have to take sick leave as result of bad work environments, this will contribute to increasing the work force. Also, for some time, a relationship between work environment and productivity has been hypothesised. Happy, healthy workers, in short, are more productive than not-so-happy and not-so-healthy workers are. This report is based on the most comprehensive empirical study of the cohension between working envi-ronment and productivity. It confirms the hope of many, i.e. that improvements in working environment and improved productivity are highly correlated. The results are robust across time and the investigated countries.

Book New Directions for Organization Theory

Download or read book New Directions for Organization Theory written by Jeffrey Pfeffer and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1997 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pfeffer argues that the world of organizations has changed in several important ways, including the increasing externalization of employment and the growing use of contingent workers; the changing size distribution of organizations, with a larger proportion of smaller organizations; the increasing influence of external capital markets on organizational decision-making and a concomitant decrease in managerial autonomy; and increasing salary inequality within organizations in the US compared both to the past and to other industrialized nations. These changes and their public policy implications make it especially important to understand organizations as social entities. But Pfeffer questions whether the research literature of organization studies has either addressed these changes and their causes or made much of a contribution to the discussion of public policy.

Book Linking Customer and Employee Satisfaction to the Bottom Line

Download or read book Linking Customer and Employee Satisfaction to the Bottom Line written by Derek R. Allen and published by Quality Press. This book was released on 2002-06-30 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most organizations recognize the impact that both customer and employee satisfaction have on overall financial performance. Actually acting on that information is the hard part. That is the focus of Linking Customer and Employee Satisfaction to the Bottom Line, which focuses on the relationship between customer satisfaction and tangible business outcomes like market share, revenue, and profitability. Intended for advanced service quality managers and marketing researchers with more than a modest exposure to statistical data analysis, this book provides a comprehensive overview of how these data may be related to critical business outcomes. Perhaps more importantly, researchers with mature customer satisfaction systems may use the techniques described in this book to maximize the value of their existing programs. While no technique or methodology can guarantee a strong link between customer satisfaction and key business outcomes, this book can ensure that appropriate scales, variables, and assumptions are used.

Book Leadership and Organizational Outcomes

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on the effect of leadership on organizational outcomes and summarizes the current research findings in the field. It addresses the need for inclusive and interpretive studies in the field in order to interpret leadership literature and suggest new pathways for further studies. Appropriately, a meta-analysis approach is used by the contributors to show the big picture to the researchers by analyzing and combining the findings from different independent studies. In particular, the editors compile various studies examining the relationship between the leadership and thirteen organizational outcomes separately. The philosophy behind this book is to direct future research and practices rather than addressing the limits of current studies.
