Le diagnostic initial peut alors être erroné et le patient peut être atteint d'une neuropathie faciale. Le diagnostic différentiel et l'étude de l'historique du patient permettent ainsi de diagnostiquer la neuropathie et de soulager le patient qui peut le vivre comme un vrai handicap. Par ailleurs, les différentes étapes d'un traitement endodontique peuvent être à l'origine de la survenue de celle-ci. Un protocole rigoureux permet de prévenir la survenue d'une neuropathie, de l'anesthésie à l'obturation canalaire. Si la neuropathie est déjà présente des traitements sont à réaliser. Ils peuvent être médicamenteux, chirurgicaux ou psychologiques. L'objectif de cette thèse sera de s'appuyer sur la littérature afin de démontrer l'impact du traitement endodontique dans la survenue d'une neuropathie et la prise en charge à effectuer.
