Book Imam Tahawi s Sharh Ma ani al Athar

This book was released on 2021-01-01 with total page 1401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imām Ṭaḥāwī’s Sharḥ Maʿānī al-Āthār is a timeless and universal masterpiece from amongst the greatest compilations of Islamic literature. Consisting of a wide array of vast and unique Prophetic traditions, it is a detailed and indispensable resource in jurisprudential matters. As a key text within the Ḥanafī School of Law, it dispels the oft-assumed notion of the School being solely one of reason by substantiating many legal verdicts of the great luminary Imām Abū Ḥanīfah (Rh.) with not only the proposition of rationale but also with highly authentic supporting evidences. The key distinguishing factor of this work from others is its unmatchable style of composition and argumentation in deducing legal rulings and deeply analysing therein; all the while assisting its readers by explaining in a coherent, cogent, and comprehensive manner. As an outstanding treatise of Imām Ṭaḥāwi (Rh.) it embodies a lifetime of discerning sacred knowledge and formulating independent decisions based on such; pro- viding a glimpse into the depths and magnitudes of his knowledge. This book has been translated into English in the hope of making the text more accessible and enabling an appreciation for it amongst the masses.

Book Al Aqidah Al Tahawiyyah Arabic Text with English Translation Commentary

Download or read book Al Aqidah Al Tahawiyyah Arabic Text with English Translation Commentary written by Imam Abu Jafar Al Tahawi and published by Dar UL Thaqafah. This book was released on 2018-05-12 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This short treatise on theology written by Imam Tahawi was titled Bayan al- Sunna wa l-Jama'a and is commonly known as al-'Aqida al-Tahawiyya. The importance of this creed lies in the fact that it corroborates the views of Imam Abu Hanifa, the founder of the Hanafi school, that have come down to us from different sources. Imam Tahawi does not make an attempt to explain the views of Imam Abu Hanafi or to solve the old theological problems by advancing any new arguments. His sole aim was to give a summary of the views of the Imam and to show indirectly that they were in conformity with the traditional views of the orthodox school. Imam Tahawi 's treatise, though small in size, is a basic text for all times, listing what a Muslim must know and believe and inwardly comprehend. It can be said to represent the creed of both the Ash'aris and the Maturidis, especially the latter, given his being a follower of the Hanafi school. The doctrines enumerated in this work are entirely derived from the undisputed primary sources of religion, the Qur'an and the confirmed Hadith. This text, representative of the viewpoint of Ahl al-Sunna wa l-Jama'a, has long been the most widely acclaimed, and indeed indispensable, reference work on Muslim beliefs.

Book Islam Judaism and Zoroastrianism

Download or read book Islam Judaism and Zoroastrianism written by Zayn R. Kassam and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-07-16 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The earlier volume in this series dealt with two religions of Indian origin, namely, Buddhism and Jainism. The Indian religious scene, however, is characterized by not only religions which originated in India but also by religions which entered India from outside India and made their home here. Thus religious life in India has been enlivened throughout its history by the presence of religions of foreign origin on its soil almost from the very time they came into existence. This volume covers three such religions—Zoraoastrianism, Judaism, and Islam . In the case of Zoraostianism, even its very beginnings are intertwined with India, as Zoroastrianism reformed a preexisting religion which had strong links to the Vedic heritage of India. This relationship took on a new dimension when a Zoroastrian community, fearing persecution in Persia after its Arab conquest, sought shelter in western India and ultimately went on to produce India’s pioneering nationalist in the figure of Dadabhai Naoroji ( 1825-1917), also known as the Grand Old Man of India. Jews found refuge in south India after the destruction of the Temple by the Romans in 70 C.E. and have remained a part of the Indian religious scene since then, some even returning to Israel after it was founded in 1948. Islam arrived in Kerala as soon as it was founded and one of the earliest mosques in the history of Islam is found in India. Islam differs from the previously mentioned religions inasmuch as it went on to gain political hegemony over parts of the country for considerable periods of time, which meant that its impact on the religious life of the subcontinent has been greater compared to the other religions. It has also meant that Islam has existed in a religiously plural environment in India for a longer period than elsewhere in the world so that not only has Islam left a mark on India, India has also left its mark on it. Indeed all the three religions covered in this volume share this dual feature, that they have profoundly influenced Indian religious life and have also in turn been profoundly influenced by their presence in India.

Students will often start their studies by reading it from a basic commentary with their instructor. Many students will read it again from more advanced commentaries as they progress in their mastery of the subject. This volume presents an amiable commentary that makes Abu Shuja's primer accessible to new students. It uses contemporary language and examples to help readers build a sound foundation in Islamic law. "The Accessible Conspectus" is a perfect companion to "The Ultimate Conspectus."

  • Pages : 736 pages

Download or read book Al Hidayah written by Burhan al-Din al-Marghinani and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-12-18 with total page 736 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Hidayah has dominated the field of Islamic jurisprudence since the day it was written over 800 years ago. It has been the primary text used by Muslim jurists to issue authentic and reliable rulings on Islamic law according to the school of Imam Abu Hanifah (d.150AH/767CE). The Hidayah commands such an authoritative position amongst the doctors of law that the knowledge of a scholar who has not read it is not considered reliable. Around 70 huge commentaries, some spread over more than a dozen volumes, have been written on it. The number of explanatory glosses is in the thousands. Comprehensive in content and conveniently organized, with the publication of this book all previous works that discussed Islamic jurisprudence according to Hanafi law became outmoded and soon fell into disuse. If revealed books are not taken into account, never has a book received so much attention as the Hidayah. This landmark publication of The Hidayah not only has been translated in its entirety for the first time but has been done so from Arabic, the language in which it was written.
