Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Methods Models Simulations and Approaches Towards a General Theory of Change Proceedings of the Fifth National Conference on Systems Science written by Gianfranco Minati and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2012 with total page 725 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book contains the Proceedings of the 2010 Conference of the Italian Systems Society. Papers deal with the interdisciplinary study of processes of changing related to a wide variety of specific disciplinary aspects. Classical attempts to deal with them, based on generalising approaches used to study the movement of bodies and environmental influence, have included ineffective reductionistic simplifications. Indeed changing also relates, for instance, to processes of acquisition and varying properties such as for software; growing and aging biological systems; learning/cognitive systems; and socio-economic systems growing and developing through innovations. Some approaches to modelling such processes are based on considering changes in structure, e.g., phase-transitions. Other approaches are based on considering (1) periodic changes in structure as for processes of self-organisation; (2) non-periodic but coherent changes in structure, as for processes of emergence; (3) the quantum level of description. Papers in the book study the problem considering its transdisciplinary nature, i.e., systemic properties studied per se and not within specific disciplinary contexts. The aim of these studies is to outline a transdisciplinary theory of change in systemic properties. Such a theory should have simultaneous, corresponding and eventually hierarchical disciplinary aspects as expected for a general theory of emergence. Within this transdisciplinary context, specific disciplinary research activities and results are assumed to be mutually represented as within a philosophical and conceptual framework based on the theoretical centrality of the observer and conceptual non-separability of context and observer, related to logically open systems and Quantum Entanglement. Contributions deal with such issues in interdisciplinary ways considering theoretical aspects and applications from Physics, Cognitive Science, Biology, Artificial Intelligence, Economics, Architecture, Philosophy, Music and Social Systems.
Download or read book For the Best You Need Nothing written by Gian Carlo Bina and published by Bryce Cullen Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Throughout his life, Italian author Gian Carlo Bina has been in constant search of a credible answer to the following questions: • Who are we? • Why are we on Earth? • Where do we come from? • Where are we going? Perhaps most interesting is the fact that he has done so while working at and managing numerous companies following his studies at Harvard Business School - not while in a monastery. His habit of analyzing problems while looking for solutions has had an immensely positive influence with respect to the way he has dealt with these fundamental questions. For the Best, You Need Nothing: All You Need Is You houses many eye-opening ideas and suggestions concerning one's life and is heavily based on Bina's firsthand experiences. Its ideals first discussed many years ago at a restaurant in Paris, it stresses the importance of improving the way in which we prepare one another for life on Earth and implores us to do so with a free and independent approach - not by solely accepting, without cool analysis, any theory that is offered to us, regardless of how religious or civilian it may be. In spite of difficult times, after reading Gian Barlo Bina's lifelong work of heart, passion, and most of all, genuine care and love, one will surely walk away with an improved sense of identity and an enhanced quality of life here on Earth.

Download or read book Controversies in the Contemporary World written by Adriano Fabris and published by John Benjamins Publishing Company. This book was released on 2019-08-07 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inspired by Marcelo Dascal’s theory of controversies, this volume includes studies in the theory of controversies, studies of the history of controversy forms and their evolution, and case-studies of particular historical and current controversies. The purpose of this volume is to identify a taxonomy of controversies and also to sense a line of development for the phenomenon of controversies itself. At the same time, we want to ask ourselves about the impact and the spread of controversies in the contemporary world, eminently intended as a heuristic element facilitating knowledge. For all these reasons, the fundamental aim of the volume is to provide the reader with a selection of current theoretical and practical perspectives on controversies, and to offer a broad picture of the complex range of definitions, meanings and practices connected to them.
Download or read book Quiete e visione profonda written by Amadeo Solé-Leris and published by Pariyatti. This book was released on 2016-04-27 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "...

Book excerpt: Feng Shui, the art of Wind and Water, emerged 3,000 years ago in China and gradually evolved over time as new theories and new models were introduced. While its development was driven by the primary needs of survival and defence, it would later be enhanced with concepts relating to culture, philosophy, the climate and the territory. Thanks to the work of Pierfrancesco Ros’ Accademia Italiana di Architettura Feng Shui, Feng Shui has been further expanded with ancient and modern knowledge relating to environmental well-being. Feng Shui Architecture offers the reader project guidelines for use in town planning, architecture, interior design and ecodesign. The first volume examines the key issues of the earth way and the sky way. The second and final volume, produced with the contribution of the Accademia di Psico Architettura, looks at the man way, establishing a global approach to various types of environmental analysis and design for a complete understanding of Holistic Architecture.

Book excerpt: This work profoundly change the way we conceive chemical processes, giving physical meaning to the atomic orbital, considered today a pure mathematical entity. The problem of the origin of life leads us to this new vision of atomic processes as forces us to include, in the study of chemistry, the spatial and temporal parameters of Relativity Theory.
Download or read book Myth Chaos and Certainty written by Rosolino Buccheri and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-12-29 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a study of the three evolutions in a circle (cosmos, life, and knowledge) with the aim of discussing human social behavior, a metaphor of the general behavior of nature (from which man derives) within the fluctuating equilibrium between the opposite tendencies to cohesion and shredding; a circularity revealing an indefinite and probably never conclusive run-up of human beings to the knowledge of nature; an analysis that demonstrates any theoretical/practical impossibility to formulate absolute certainties, since it depicts a situation in which man finds himself hovering between a rational way of living and the contradictory modus operandi of mythos. All that, within a society where the powerful communication and transportation technologies give rise to conflicts and fragmentations, where anyone’s will to self-distinguishing is enhanced by highlighting any small difference and obscuring any large similarity. The main difference between this book and existing ones stems from its interdisciplinary nature, particularly because it establishes a close connection between three, apparently so different disciplines—cosmology, life sciences, and sociology—compared with respect to their increasing complexity laws, giving rise to always more chaotic configurations.
Download or read book Destruction and Creation written by Mary Ann Mattoon and published by Daimon. This book was released on 1999 with total page 640 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 14th Congress for Analytical Psychology was held 23-28 August 1998 in the ancient city of Florence, Italy. The theme, 'Destruction and Creation: Personal and Cultural Transformations', is especially appropriate to the Italian setting, with that nation's history of destruction, both from nature and from human activity, and its tradition -- especially in Florence -- of creative individuals and institutions. The theme is fitting, also, to the context of Jungian psychology, with its emphasis on these and other pairs of opposites, with their integral role in psychic wholeness. Acknowledging, also, that destruction is indispensable to creation, some Jungians prefer the term 'creative unconscious' to the traditional 'collective unconscious'.

Download or read book Governing Turbulence Risk and Opportunities in the Complexity Age written by Guglielmo Chiodi and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2018-11-23 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is composed of several articles that explore complexity in its most varied aspects. The solution of contemporary problems, whatever they may be, requires a multifaceted vision, far beyond the reductionist perspective. The study of complex systems, however, does not have the capacity to offer ready answers to the challenges of humanity. On the contrary, it points to the increase in uncertainty, the need to control variables, and uncertainty. This does not mean, therefore, that we should simply ignore the social, economic, and political phenomena that are all around us. What this book demonstrates is the importance of knowledge being disseminated, and it is imperative that different sciences exchange ideas, theories, and breakthroughs.

Download or read book Distributed World written by Simone Malacrida and published by BookRix. This book was released on 2023-04-18 with total page 415 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, the last of an energy trilogy, outlines a futuristic scenario of a social, energy and political model different from the current one. All aspects that contribute to determining the distributed model through the establishment of the two main pillars, the technological-energy pillar, given by digital energies, and the socio-economic pillar, called the "blue society," are carefully analyzed. A look far beyond the usually proposed predictions of a few decades is constantly present in the writing, and obvious connections are identified between a system of thought and the resulting shared rules that punctuate human life, completing the narrative of a new social structure for a finally sustainable future development.
