Download or read book On Tyranny written by Leo Strauss and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2013-11-15 with total page 359 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On Tyranny is Leo Strauss’s classic reading of Xenophon’s dialogue Hiero, or Tyrannicus, in which the tyrant Hiero and the poet Simonides discuss the advantages and disadvantages of exercising tyranny. Included are a translation of the dialogue from its original Greek, a critique of Strauss’s commentary by the French philosopher Alexandre Kojève, and the complete correspondence between the two. This revised and expanded edition introduces important corrections throughout and expands Strauss’s restatement of his position in light of Kojève’s commentary to bring it into conformity with the text as it was originally published in France.
Download or read book L ira di Dio secondo san Tommaso d Aquino e Hans Urs von Balthasar e nell esperienza mistica di santa Faustina Kowalska written by Jan Frąckowiak and published by Pontificia Univ. Gregoriana. This book was released on 2017 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book I misteri di Cristo in Tommaso d Aquino written by Inos Biffi and published by Editoriale Jaca Book. This book was released on 1994 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book The Way of Hermes written by Hermes (Trismegistus.) and published by Bristol Classical Press. This book was released on 2001 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Corpus Hermeticum is a collection of short philosphical treatises, a powerful fusion of Greek and Egyptian thought, written in Greek in Alexandria between the first and third centuries AD and rediscovered in the West in the fifteenth century when it was first translated into Latin by the great scholar and philosopher Marsilio Ficino. These writing were believed from antiquity up to the early seventeenth century to be the writings of Hermes Trismegistus, 'thrice-great Hermes', the name given by Greeks of the classical and Hellenistic periods to the Ibis-headed Egyption god Thoth. They were central to the spiritual work of Hermetic societies in late antique Alexandria, aiming to awake gnosis, the direct realistion of the truth of the identity of the invividual and the Supreme, and are still read as inspirational writings today.

Download or read book Il mistero di Dio e l abisso del male written by Samuele Pinna and published by If Press. This book was released on 2019 with total page 398 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Medieval Exegesis Vol 2 written by Henri de Lubac and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2000-11-01 with total page 460 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Translated by E. M. Macierowski Originally published in French, de Lubac's four-volume study of the history of exegesis and theology is one of the most significant works of biblical studies to appear in modern times. Still as relevant and luminous as when it first appeared, the series offers a key resource for the renewal of biblical interpretation along the lines suggested by the Second Vatican Council in Dei Verbum. This second volume, now available for the first time in English, will fuel the currently growing interest in the history and Christian meaning of exegesis.
