This research was based on the transfer of knowledge from members of the Albanian Diaspora in Italy (university students, young architects and researchers) to their home country. This unique process blazed a trail in the Albania-related studies by creating a methodology, which could be replicated not only in Albanian rural contexts, but also elsewhere. The book constitutes a structured tool for generating sustainable and socially inclusive territorial development processes in five lesser-known Albanian cultural sites. Their tangible and intangible cultural heritage was seen as a driving factor for triggering development processes aimed at improving the inhabitants’ quality of life and strengthening local identity and social networks. Through concrete proposals and strategies, the book offers scenarios and solutions capable of enhancing the potential of each village and, at the same time, counteracting the effects of land abandonment that so often characterise them.

Book excerpt: I primi commenti editi sul nuovo codice della crisi di impresa e dell’insolvenza hanno costantemente evidenziato il prodursi di una vera e propria “frattura” tra la disciplina dei reati fallimentari, rimasta nel corso del tempo essenzialmente invariata, eccezion fatta per alcune isolate modifiche o aggiunte normative 1, e la “base” civilistica di tali fattispecie sanzionatorie, costituita dalla disciplina delle procedure concorsuali, che è già stata modificata a partire dal 2005 ed infine organicamente riformata con il d.lgs. 12 gennaio 2019, n. 14 2, già oggetto dell’autorevole presentazione di Stefania Pacchi. I primi incisivi interventi di modifica del r.d. n. 267/1942 (attuati nel biennio 2005/2006) avevano immediatamente determinato uno stato di asimmetria tra la disciplina civilistica e il coté punitivo del diritto fallimentare, a fronte del quale autorevole dottrina penalistica non aveva mancato di criticare gli effetti “distonici” della mancata riforma organica del versante penale 3. Da allora la situazione non è mutata ed il d.lgs. n. 14/2019 rappresenta l’ultima conferma in ordine di tempo di questa censurabile metodologia della novellazione.

In the spring of 2014, the binders of the archive of Robert Marichal were dusted off by the ERC funded project PLATINUM (ERC-StG 2014 n°636983) in response to Tiziano Dorandi’s recollections of a series of unpublished notes on Latin texts on papyrus. Among these was an in-progress edition of the Latin rolls from Herculaneum, together with Marichal’s intuition that one of them had to be ascribed to a certain ‘Annaeus Seneca’. PLATINUM followed the unpublished intuition by Robert Marichal as one path of investigation in its own research and work. Working on the Latin P.Herc. 1067 led to confirm Marichal’s intuitions and to go beyond it: P.Herc. 1067 is the only extant direct witness to Seneca the Elder’s Historiae. Bringing a new and important chapter of Latin literature arise out of a charred papyrus is significant. The present volume is made up of two complementary sections, each of which contains seven contributions. They are in close dialogue with each other, as looking at the same literary matter from several points of view yields undeniable advantages and represents an innovative and fruitful step in Latin literary criticism. These two sections express the two different but interlinked axes along which the contributions were developed. On one side, the focus is on the starting point of the debate, namely the discovery of the papyrus roll transmitting the Historiae of Seneca the Elder and how such a discovery can be integrated with prior knowledge about this historiographical work. On the other side, there is a broader view on early-imperial Roman historiography, to which the new perspectives opened by the rediscovery of Seneca the Elder’s Historiae greatly contribute.
