Book Compaction and cementation controls on reservoir quality in Buntsandstein red beds

Download or read book Compaction and cementation controls on reservoir quality in Buntsandstein red beds written by Schmidt, Christina and published by KIT Scientific Publishing. This book was released on 2022-05-02 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reservoir quality in fluvial siliciclastic rocks is variable. Permeability is influenced by micron-scale grain coatings or bedding style on the m-/km-scale. Outcrops allow the analysis of depositional environments and diagenesis, thus an investigation of reservoir quality controls. A process-oriented approach is used to understand variability in a meander deposit, compaction and cementation behavior of lithofacies types during burial and the discrepancy between porosity and permeability values.

Book Diagenetic controls on fluid flow and mechanical properties in Rotliegend reservoir sandstones

Download or read book Diagenetic controls on fluid flow and mechanical properties in Rotliegend reservoir sandstones written by Monsees, Alexander C. and published by KIT Scientific Publishing. This book was released on 2021-10-28 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reservoir quality of Rotliegend sandstones is mainly controlled by their permeability, and porosity, and their mechanical properties. Thus, diagenetic porosity-reducing processes need to be understood to evaluate reservoir quality and geotechnical properties in sandstones. Best reservoir qualities are achieved in mature sandstones with large amounts of quartz cementation. The relative length of grain-contacts compared to the respective grain diameter is identified as proxy for rock strength.

Book Concepts in Turbocharging for Improved Efficiency and Emissions Reduction

Download or read book Concepts in Turbocharging for Improved Efficiency and Emissions Reduction written by Mehrdad Zangeneh and published by SAE International. This book was released on 2014-09-22 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Legislative requirements to reduce CO2 emissions by 2020 have resulted in significant efforts by car manufacturers to explore various methods of pollution abatement. One of the most effective ways found so far is by shortening the cylinder stroke and downsizing the engine. This new engine then needs to be boosted, or turbocharged, to create the full and original load torque. Turbocharging has been and will continue to be a key component to the new technologies that will make a positive difference in the next-generation engines of years to come. Concepts in Turbocharging for Improved Efficiency and Emissions Reduction explores the many ways that turbocharging will deliver concrete results in meeting the new realities of sustainable, green transportation. This collection of very focused technical papers, selected by Mehrdad Zangeneh, PhD., a professor of thermo-fluids at University College in London, provides an assessment of several novel designs intended to improve fuel consumption and cap emissions, while maintaining torque at all speeds. The book is divided into four sections, each addressing the most cutting-edge technologies on the market today: o Two-Stage Turbocharging o Variable Geometry Compressors o Unconventional Compressor Configurations o Electrically Assisted Turbocharging

Book Computer Programs for Chemistry

Download or read book Computer Programs for Chemistry written by DeLos DeTar and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computer Programs for Chemistry, Volume 4, aims to make available a useful collection of tested programs, which may be expected to have a long useful life. Since the programs in each volume are represented by considerably over 10,000 source cards, arrangements have been made to provide a master tape for each volume. The programs in the series fall into two broad classes: complete packages and subroutines. ANSI FORTRAN has been chosen as the language since it provides adequate flexibility and excellent compatibility. But where departures are needed for efficiency, the editors have not hesitated to allow use of small subroutines in nonstandard FORTRAN or in assembly language, with careful documentation. The programs discussed in this volume include LSKIN2, FRS3, GENLSS, CDORD, EQCENT, EDITQ and EDITID, LORAK, and INDEX. Anyone who intends to use computer techniques will have to learn about computer hardware and computer software. To use effectively even the stand-alone programs in these volumes requires some understanding of FORTRAN. This volume also contains a number of converting subroutines that are useful primarily to the serious programmer. These have proved especially useful as parts of programs presented in previous volumes.
