Book Iglesias culturas y liderazgo

Download or read book Iglesias culturas y liderazgo written by Juan F. Martínez and published by Vida. This book was released on 2013-02-05 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Churches, Cultures and Leadership In Churches, Cultures, and Leadership: A Practical Theology of Congregations and Ethnicities, the authors seek to foster the intercultural life that is developing in each church and also in the relationships between different churches and their environments. Authors Juan Martínez and Mark Branson believe that the presence of the kingdom of God on earth, inaugurated in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ, is a presence that should be characterized by a ministry of reconciliation. What does it take to lead multicultural churches? Moses left Egypt with a "mixed crowd," and the early followers of Jesus had to learn that the Holy Spirit was leading them to cross the boundaries between the different cultures of their time. We live in a world that is culturally diverse, and almost all of our cities and neighborhoods bear witness to that diversity. This is evident in the media, in shopping malls, and in schools; and although slightly less evident in the churches, it is also increasing. That is why they wrote this book: to encourage church leaders to create environments that make reconciliation initiatives evident in the inner life of churches, and in our missionary work within our neighborhoods and cities. This book contains: Relevant information about the multicultural context in which we live. Information on the different sociocultural perspectives. Practical tools for effective leadership and communication.

Book Memories Hopes and Conversations

Download or read book Memories Hopes and Conversations written by Mark Lau Branson and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2004-06-01 with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A second edition of Memories, Hopes, and Conversations is now available! With helpful updates throughout, the new edition features five new chapters on Appreciative Inquiry applied in real congregations. When First Presbyterian Church in Altadena, California, was asked to provide a mission study report for its pastor nominating committee, the congregation was afraid they would find themselves engaging in busy work and producing a report that would wind up in a file gathering dust. They then asked professor Mark Lau Branson to consult with them on writing this report. He invited them to join in a process of Appreciative Inquiry--a transformational organization change process--which resulted in a major shift in congregational conversations and a new sense of hope. Memories, Hopes, and Conversations recounts the experience of First Presbyterian and outlines a process that any congregation can utilize to harness the energies of the congregation at all levels of its common life. Branson first leads readers through the foundations of Appreciative Inquiry and bracingly explores biblical texts for understanding the practice in a faith context. He then outlines and illustrates a four-step process--Initiate, Inquire, Imagine, Innovate--that creatively employs constructive conversations and questions to evoke storytelling and spur imaginations. Branson persuasively demonstrates how concentrating on needs and problems can mire a congregation in discouragement and distract it from noticing innate strengths. By focusing on memories of the congregation at its best, members are able to construct "provocative proposals" to help shape the church’s future. Grounded in solid theory and real-life practice, Memories, Hopes, and Conversations is a groundbreaking work of narrative leadership and the first book to apply the principles of Appreciative Inquiry to the lives of congregations.

Download or read book Becoming REAL written by Sandra T. Montes and published by Church Publishing. This book was released on 2020-05-18 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Follow the REAL rubric for success in starting new ministries If congregations were to look outside their doors, they may find that the people who need the good news don’t look like them and that the way to engage them is by having ministries that are REAL. REAL ministry is respectful relationships, excellence, authenticity, and love. This easy-to-understand perspective on relationships can be implemented in any setting with any group. To continue the mandate, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,” we have to have relationships with those whom God has put in our neighborhoods. Written both in English and Spanish, each chapter contains a study guide with Bible verses and reflection questions. The author also offers real anecdotes and examples of what to do—and what not to do—so that when using the REAL rubric with any group of people, you can emulate Jesus and bring the good news to them. Church leaders wanting to be more inclusive or trying to grow in their changing neighborhood will find this book a welcome resource.

Book Leadership God s Agency and Disruptions

Download or read book Leadership God s Agency and Disruptions written by Mark Lau Branson and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2021-02-16 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Leaders in congregations and Christian organizations wrestle with an unraveling of the world in which they have little experience and training. While they are offered unending resources by experts on leadership, some with claims to biblical blueprints, the challenges seem mismatched to those methods. Branson and Roxburgh frame the situation as one in which "modernity's wager"--the conviction that God is not necessary for life and wisdom and meaning--has defined the Western imagination. Because churches and leaders are colonized by this ethos, even when God is named and beliefs are claimed, approaches to leadership are blind to God's agency. Branson and Roxburgh approach this challenge as a work in practical theology, attending to our cultural context, narratives of God's disruptive initiatives in Scripture, and a reshaping of leadership theories with a priority on God's agency. With years of experience as teachers, consultants, and guides, they name practices which lead to more faithful participation. Leadership, God's Agency, and Disruption is wide-ranging in cultural and biblical scholarship, challenging in its engagement with numerous leadership studies, and practical with its focus toward the on-the-ground life of churches and organizations.

Download or read book Hacer teologia y etica teologica frente a la crisis de los abusos written by Daniel J. Fleming and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2024-06-13 with total page 411 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
