The book presents a new approach for identification of grass seeds, with clear figures and detailed tables. It enlightens reader by solving the traditional problems of pratacultural science through the aid of computer science.

Book Identification Equivalent Models and Computer Algebra

Download or read book Identification Equivalent Models and Computer Algebra written by Paul A. Bekker and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2014-05-10 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Identification, Equivalent Models, and Computer Algebra provides information pertinent to computer algebra. This book presents a brief discussion of the commutation matrix, an operator that plays a role when derivatives have to be evaluated involving symmetric matrices. Organized into eight chapters, this book begins with an overview of the link between identification of a parameter and the existence of a consistent estimator, and the link between identification of a model and the rank of a Jacobian matrix. This text then describes an algorithm for the determination of the exact rank of a parametrized matrix. Other chapters consider the identification in the simultaneous equation model. This book discusses as well the identification assessment in confirmatory factor analysis, a problem related to the simultaneous equations model. The final chapter deals with various computer programs that the enclosed diskette contains. This book is a valuable resource for readers who are interested in computer algebra.

Book Visual Identification of People by Computer

Download or read book Visual Identification of People by Computer written by Michael David Kelly and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 510 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The thesis describes a computer program which performs a complex picture processing task. The task is to choose, from a collection of pictures of people taken by a TV camera, those pictures that depict the same person. The primary purpose of this research has been directed toward the development of new techniques for picture processing. (Author).

Book A Computer Oriented Single fingerprint Identification System

Download or read book A Computer Oriented Single fingerprint Identification System written by J. H. Wegstein and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A procedure is described for computing a set of numerical descriptors that identify a single fingerprint. The procedure starts with the X and Y coordinates and the individual directions of the minutiae (ridge endings and bifurcations) of a fingerprint impression.Sets of descriptors are computed corresponding to groups or constellations of these minutiae.Descriptors corresponding to various fingerprint impressions are stored on magnetic tape.A fragment of a fingerprint impression such as occurs in a latent fingerprint may also be used.A second computer program reads the descriptors corresponding to two different fingerprint impressions from magnetic tape.A score is computed that indicates how well the two impressions match. Preliminary experimental results suggest that this procedure might be suitable as a basis for a single-fingerprint classification system.(Author).

Book Learning to Identify Nonverbal Sounds an Application of a Computer as a Teaching Machine

Download or read book Learning to Identify Nonverbal Sounds an Application of a Computer as a Teaching Machine written by John A. Swets and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 66 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The procedures of automated instruction -- continual interrogation and overt response, immediate knowledge of results, presentation of successive items conditional upon previous performance, learner-controlled pacing of the lesson, and so forth -- were applied to the task of learning to identify multidimensional, nonverbal sounds. These procedures produced results that are comparable to those obtained previously with conventional training methods. Certain of the central features of automated instruction were found to hinder learning in the task studied. (Author).

Book A Statistical Technique for Computer Identification of Outliers in Multivariate Data

Download or read book A Statistical Technique for Computer Identification of Outliers in Multivariate Data written by Ram Swaroop and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A statistical technique and the necessary computer program for editing multivariate data are presented. The technique is particularly useful when large quantities of data are collected and the editing must be performed by automatic means. One task in the editing process is the identification of outliers, or observations which deviate markedly from the rest of the sample. A statistical technique, and the related computer program, for identifying the outliers in univariate data was presented in NASA TN D-5275. The current report is a multivariate analog which considers the statistical linear relationship between the variables in identifying the outliers. The program requires as inputs the number of variables, the data set, and the level of significance at which outliers are to be identified. It is assumed that the data are from a multivariate normal population and the sample size is at least two greater than the number of variables. Although the technique has been used primarily in editing biodata, the method is applicable to any multivariate data encountered in engineering and the physical sciences. An example is presented to illustrate the technique.

Book Rough Sets and Current Trends in Computing

Download or read book Rough Sets and Current Trends in Computing written by Shusaku Tsumoto and published by Springer. This book was released on 2004-06-16 with total page 871 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years rough set theory has attracted the attention of many researchers and practitioners all over the world, who have contributed essentially to its development and applications. Weareobservingagrowingresearchinterestinthefoundationsofroughsets, including the various logical, mathematical and philosophical aspects of rough sets. Some relationships have already been established between rough sets and other approaches, and also with a wide range of hybrid systems. As a result, rough sets are linked with decision system modeling and analysis of complex systems, fuzzy sets, neural networks, evolutionary computing, data mining and knowledge discovery, pattern recognition, machine learning, and approximate reasoning. In particular, rough sets are used in probabilistic reasoning, granular computing (including information granule calculi based on rough mereology), intelligent control, intelligent agent modeling, identi?cation of autonomous s- tems, and process speci?cation.
