  • Pages : 356 pages

Download or read book IBM Workplace Forms written by Bernd Beilke and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This IBM Redbooks publication describes the features and functionality of Workplace Forms and each of its component products. After introducing the products and providing an overview of features and functionality, we discuss the underlying product architecture and address the concept of integration. To help potential users, architects, and developers better understand how to develop and implement a forms application, we introduce a specific scenario based on a "Sales Quotation Approval" application. Using this base scenario as a foundation, we describe in detail how to build an application that captures data in a form, then applies specific business logic and workflow to gain approval for a specific product sales quotation. Throughout the scenario, we build upon the complexity of the application and introduce increasing integration points with other data systems. Ultimately, we demonstrate how an IBM Workplace Forms application can integrate with WebSphere Portal, IBM DB2 Content Manager, and Lotus Domino. Note: The code used for building this sample scenario application is available for download. For specific information about how to download the sample code, please refer to Appendix A. Additional material". Please note that the additional material referenced in the text is not available from IBM.

Book Advances in Crowdsourcing

Download or read book Advances in Crowdsourcing written by Fernando J. Garrigos-Simon and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-05-08 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book attempts to link some of the recent advances in crowdsourcing with advances in innovation and management. It contributes to the literature in several ways. First, it provides a global definition, insights and examples of this managerial perspective resulting in a theoretical framework. Second, it explores the relationship between crowdsourcing and technological innovation, the development of social networks and new behaviors of Internet users. Third, it explores different crowdsourcing applications in various sectors such as medicine, tourism, information and communication technology (ICT), and marketing. Fourth, it observes the ways in which crowdsourcing can improve production, finance, management and overall managerial performance. Crowdsourcing, also known as “massive outsourcing” or “voluntary outsourcing,” is the act of taking a job or a specific task usually performed by an employee of a company or contractors, and outsourcing it to a large group of people or a community (crowd or mass) via the Internet, through an open call. The term was coined by Jeff Howe in a 2006 issue of Wired magazine. It is being developed in different sciences (i.e., medicine, engineering, ICT, management) and is used in the most successful companies of the modern era (i.e., Apple, Facebook, Inditex, Starbucks). The developments in crowdsourcing has theoretical and practical implications, which will be explored in this book. Including contributions from international academics, scholars and professionals within the field, this book provides a global, multidimensional perspective on crowdsourcing.
