Book I Survived Rejection and You Can Too

Download or read book I Survived Rejection and You Can Too written by Mico Scott Holmes and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2022-10-25 with total page 71 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As light as many people take it, rejection is a powerful weapon that the devil uses to destroy the hope, joy and peace of the children of God. There are many types of rejection. My story consists mainly of rejection of family and church. It is important that my story be not mistaken as a “pity party”. What happened to me is not only real, but the truth as it is told. If what has happened to me defines my state as “a victim”, then it is what it is, but please know that as I type the words of my experiences on this paper I am healed and victorious in Christ Jesus. This testimony is for others who have experience rejection as I have, to know that they are not alone. This testimony is spoken for those who are so hurt from rejection that they are not able to articulate in words how they feel. The purpose of this testimony is to speak loud so that others can release, heal and move on to their next assignment. Everything that happens in our lives can be used for God to get glory. God gets glory when we give it to Him. As Romans 8:28 states, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. Rejection doesn’t feel good and the effects that it has on an individual can be detrimental to the state of a person’s mind, body and soul if not released. Rejection can be intentional or unintentional. Rejection does not discriminate. It is prey to anyone who is subjectable. Rejection doesn’t care if you are rich or poor; white or black; born in a family with mother or father or born in a single parent home; female or male; child or adult; rejection is real. This is my story. Yours may be different, but the one common goal that we share is that we survived. For those who may still battle with the aftermath of rejection, I pray that this testimony will encourage you to tell your story so that you may be healed. Someone’s life depends on your story, mainly yours. Just tell it!

Book Rejection Proof

Download or read book Rejection Proof written by Jia Jiang and published by Harmony. This book was released on 2015-04-14 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The inspiring, relatable, and sometimes outrageous true story of how one man used 100 days of rejection therapy to overcome fear and dare to live more boldly “Rejection Proof smashes fear in the face with a one-two punch. You’ll laugh out loud at Jia’s crazy social experiments, but you’ll also go away thinking differently about what you can accomplish.”—Chris Guillebeau, New York Times bestselling author of The Happiness Pursuit Jia Jiang’s TEDx Talk, “What I learned from 100 days of rejection,” has amassed over ten million views! Jia Jiang came to the United States with the dream of being the next Bill Gates. But despite early success in the corporate world, his first attempt to pursue his entrepreneurial dream ended in rejection. Jia was crushed and spiraled into a period of deep self-doubt. Jia realized that his fear of rejection was a bigger obstacle than any single rejection would ever be; he needed to find a way to cope with being told “no” that wouldn’t destroy him. Inspired by rejection therapy, which uses similar modalities as exposure therapy to desensitize you to the effects of being rejected, he undertook the “100 days of rejection” experiment, during which he willfully sought out rejection on a daily basis—from requesting a lesson in sales from a car salesman (no) to asking a flight attendant if he could make an announcement on the loud speaker (yes) to his famous request to get Krispy Kreme donuts in the shape of Olympic rings (yes, with a viral video to prove it). Over the course of one hundred rejection attempts, Jia realized that even the most preposterous wish might be granted if you ask the right way. He learned the secrets to making successful requests, tactics for picking the right people to approach at the right time, and strategies for converting an initial no into something positive. More important, Jia discovered ways to steel himself against rejection and live more fearlessly—skills that can’t be derailed by a single setback. The changes Jia experienced from his rejection therapy experiment went far beyond becoming more successful in business; he realized that he could apply these techniques to get more out of his relationships with friends, family, and even casual encounters with strangers. Filled with great stories and valuable insight, Rejection Proof shares the secrets of Jia’s rejection journey, distilling each lesson into a strategy that can be used in any negotiation or pitch.

Book Dealing with the Rejection and Praise of Man

Download or read book Dealing with the Rejection and Praise of Man written by Bob Sorge and published by Bob Sorge. This book was released on 1999 with total page 97 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rejection from other people can distress, wound, and imprison the soul. Equally harmful, the praise of man is also a snare, capable of disqualifying God's servants from their highest inheritance. Bob Sorge reveals in this brief book how the truths that set us free from both extremes are amazingly similar. This book answers some crucial questions which grip virtually every believer: What do I do when others demean or hurt me? And how should I respond when others honor or compliment me? Rejection and praise are like twin gullies that flank the narrow highway of holiness. Every step counts. For Jesus, man's opinions were meaningless in light of the exuberant affection and passionate approval of His Father. Let God's truth set you free from the power of rejection's woundings and from the entrapment of man's praises. Learn how to hold your heart before God in a way that pleases Him in the midst of both rejection and praise from people.
