This book was released on 2022-03-17 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Different voices and driving forces alternate in each human being. Frequently, we suddenly find ourselves doing and saying things that are different from what we would have liked to do or say. This book teaches us to recognize the multiplicity contained in each of us, the different drives and needs that bring different approaches to our daily life, so we can begin to consider them as precious resources and no longer as obstacles. Understanding the complex relationships within us will help us to live better with ourselves and with others, since all our relationships in a family, social or working environment, show a similar pattern to those that happen within us. Curiosity, a playful attitude, having fun, are pleasant approaches to this research and help us to understand ourselves, what happens to our different parts, and also to discover and appreciate all the talents we have. The theory and the simple exercises presented in this book invite you to follow a path in search of knowing yourself step by step, offering a useful and verifiable set of tools at a personal level. “Everyone represents a potentially perfect team. The harmony of the whole is consciousness. It is love. Integration is possible only through Love, in any circumstance and at any level.” Falco Tarassaco

Download or read book I segreti del campo elettromagnetico mentale written by Carlo Mele and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2014-01-03 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Physiognomy at the Crossroad of Magic Science and the Arts written by Massimo Ciavolella and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2024-09-23 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The essays examine how the study of facial features or expressions as indicative of character or ethnicity, has evolved from the crossroad of magic, religion and primitive medicine to present-day cultural concern for wellness and beauty. In this context, the discoveries of cranio-facial neurophysiology and psychology and the practice of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery have a centuries-old relationship with physiognomy. As the study of outward appearances evolved from its classical roots and self-representations through 18th- and 19th-century adaptations in fiction and travelogues, it gradually became a scientific discipline. Along the way, physiognomy was associated with phrenology and craniology and promoted eugenic policies. Tainted with racial bigotry and biological determinism, it was trapped within questions of delinquency, monstrosity and posthumanism. Throughout its history, physiognomy played both positive and negative roles in the evolution of significant aspects of the socio-cultural order in the West that merit update and in-depth study. The contributions follow a chronological and intertwining sequence to encompass physiognomic expressions in art, literature, spirituality, science, philosophy and cultural studies.
Download or read book Venice Incognito written by James H. Johnson and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2017-01-10 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The entire town is disguised," declared a French tourist of eighteenth-century Venice. And, indeed, maskers of all ranks—nobles, clergy, imposters, seducers, con men—could be found mixing at every level of Venetian society. Even a pious nun donned a mask and male attire for her liaison with the libertine Casanova. In Venice Incognito, James H. Johnson offers a spirited analysis of masking in this carnival-loving city. He draws on a wealth of material to explore the world view of maskers, both during and outside of carnival, and reconstructs their logic: covering the face in public was a uniquely Venetian response to one of the most rigid class hierarchies in European history. This vivid account goes beyond common views that masking was about forgetting the past and minding the muse of pleasure to offer fresh insight into the historical construction of identity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "An endocentric language is a language whose verbs are lexically precise and concrete whereas its nouns are abstract and vague. An exocentric language has lexically precise and concrete nouns and abstract verbs. The Germanic languages prove to be endocentric and the Romance languages exocentric. The lexical differences entail differences at other levels as well, linguistic as well as extralinguistic. This multilingual volume contains a selection of papers presented at the two-day Italian-Danish linguistic seminar 'Lingua, cognizione e identità : estensioni della tipologia delle lingue endo- ed esocentriche' held at the Italian Department of the University of Florence on the 22nd and 23rd of September 2009. The papers challenge the endo-/exocentric approach at various levels (lexicon, grammar, language infrastructures, socio cultural reflections) with examples from the Romance languages (Italian and French) and the Germanic languages (English, German and Danish)"--Publisher's description, p. This book was released on 2021-09-21 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Bees play an essential role in the pollination of native plants and agricultural crops across the globe. In North America alone there are more than 4,000 bee species. In spite of their abundance and diversity, there is no accessible field guide for the non-expert. This book will remedy that situation by providing a carefully crafted introduction to bee identification for eastern North America. No portable field guide could include coverage of the myriad species in the region, so the book concentrates on identifying bees at the genus level. It includes information on the 72 different genera that are found east of the Rockies"--

Download or read book I segreti del linguaggio del corpo written by Robert James and published by Area51 Publishing. This book was released on 2019-04-15 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
