Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I'm Coming Out of This is written by Beverly Ann Smith-Glasper. This book is a literary concept and a tool to show women as well as men how they can come out of domestic altercations yet leaning and depending on the Lord. There is an answer, there is hope, there is a compelling comforter which is the Holy Ghost to see you through every aspect of your life if you yield that power to God. There is no weapon that is formed against us that is able to prosper and to take over and to cancel out the divine assignment that the Lord has placed over each and every one of our lives. When man said no, Jesus says yes, you can you can do all things through Christ that that strengthens you. With this book, I'm admonishing all women and those men that have been victims as well to take off of garment of heaviness and replace it with a garment of praise knowing that your Father Who Art in Heaven has provided a scapegoat out every catastrophic situation that the devil meant for bad in your life. Now shake yourself, jump out of the fire, and stand therefore in the liberty we're in Christ have made you free because if I can come out the same God and the same deity it's able to bring you out as well. When the enemy came against you in like a flood, Jesus rose up a standard against them, and I command you, Satan, in the name of the Lord to take your hands off, move out of my way because I'm coming out and you can too!
Download or read book I m Coming Out of This written by John R. Adolph and published by Tate Publishing. This book was released on 2009-10 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "If the Apostle Paul were here with us today, what would he say to help us cope with tough times?" One of the most startling revelations believers face is that dedicating their life to Christ does not shield them from the trials of life or the blows of an enemy attack. The truth is, when we make the decision to live for Christ, the battle is on. Yet the answer is not to give up when we grow weary in the fight. Instead, take note from the Apostle Paul as he speaks to the church of Philippi and find restored confidence in the fact that Christ has assured our victory. Dr. John R. Adolph is magnificent at communicating complex spiritual principles in simple everyday language. In "I'm Coming Out of This!" Dr. Adolph teaches what is required to find the faith and determination of Paul that is within the heart of every believer. He uses biblical and practical illustrations to inspire and empower believers to stand up to the enemy while in the heat of the battle and leads warriors of the faith in the battle cry: "I'm Coming Out of This!"

Download or read book LGBTQs Media and Culture in Europe written by Alexander Dhoest and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2016-11-10 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Media matter, particularly to social minorities like lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people. Rather than one homogenised idea of the ‘global gay’, what we find today is a range of historically and culturally specific expressions of gender and sexuality, which are reflected and explored across an ever increasing range of media outlets. This collection zooms in on a number of facets of this kaleidoscope, each chapter discussing the intersection of a particular European context and a particular medium with its affordances and limitations. While traditional mass media form the starting point of this book, the primary focus is on digital media such as blogs, social media and online dating sites. All contributions are based on recent, original empirical research, using a plethora of qualitative methods to offer a holistic view on the ways media matter to particular LGBTQ individuals and communities. Together the chapters cover the diversity of European countries and regions, of LGBTQ communities, and of the contemporary media ecology. Resisting the urge to extrapolate, they argue for specificity, contextualisation and a provincialized understanding of the connections between media, culture, gender and sexuality.
Download or read book Sports Journalism and Coming Out Stories written by William P. Cassidy and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-07-28 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines how sports journalists covered the historic coming out stories of National Basketball Association (NBA) veteran Jason Collins and football All-American Michael Sam in the context of sports’ “toy department” reputation as a field whose standards are often criticized as lacking in rigor and depth compared to other forms of journalism. Employing a media sociology approach, reporting about Collins and Sam is addressed in the book via three content analysis studies and interviews with two prominent sports journalists. An overview of other pertinent research is provided along with a detailed account of both athletes’ stories. This work should appeal to readers interested in sports journalism, the role of sport in society, and media coverage of gay professional athletes.

This 5th anniversary edition, featuring a new preface by editor Nikesh Shukla, shows that the pieces collected here are as poignant, challenging, angry, humorous, heartbreaking and important as ever.

In the fall of 1939, Grace Baker’s three brothers, sharp and proud in their uniforms, board Canadian ships headed for a faraway war. Grace stays behind, tending to the homefront and the general store that helps keep her small Nova Scotian community running. The war, everyone says, will be over before it starts. But three years later, the fighting rages on and rumours swirl about “wolf packs” of German U-Boats lurking in the deep waters along the shores of East Jeddore, a stone’s throw from Grace’s window. As the harsh realities of war come closer to home, Grace buries herself in her work at the store. Then, one day, a handsome stranger ventures into the store. He claims to be a trapper come from away, and as Grace gets to know him, she becomes enamoured by his gentle smile and thoughtful ways. But after several weeks, she discovers that Rudi, her mysterious visitor, is not the lonely outsider he appears to be. He is someone else entirely—someone not to be trusted. When a shocking truth about her family forces Grace to question everything she has so strongly believed, she realizes that she and Rudi have more in common than she had thought. And if Grace is to have a chance at love, she must not only choose a side, but take a stand. Come from Away is a mesmerizing story of love, shifting allegiances, and second chances, set against the tumultuous years of the Second World War.
