Download or read book Willobee S World written by Wendell Vanderbilt Fountain and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2016-11-22 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Trenton Trent Willobee, a semi-truck driver and resident of Oatman, Arizona, who originally hailed from Macon, Georgia, is recruited by federal agents to assist them with the interdiction of drug cartels, gun runners, human smugglers, and Syrian Islamic terrorists who are pouring over the U.S. border at Tijuana, Mexico. As a former Special Forces Soldier (SFS) and trucker, he is uniquely qualified to collect on the ground intelligence for federal agencies, because one of his trucking routes often takes him to Tijuana. As time passed, his involvement grew well beyond the original scope of his expected involvement. He found himself faced with numerous treacherous and dangerous situations from Tijuana to Chihuahua City, Mexico. Interwoven into the action, adventure, and suspense is an account of the 2016 Presidential Election. With all the danger going on in his life, Trent still finds time for a romantic relationship with, Haylee Harper, a waitress at the Olive Hotel Restaurant and Bar in Oatman. He says he doesnt look for trouble, but doesnt run from it, whether at home or on the road. Since he is a big man, 6'4" and 230 pounds, it would seem that he would be intimidating, but rather, he was often underestimated partially because of his unique southern-western drawl, which often confounded those with whom he had contact.

I've enjoyed all the Sunset Ridge books, and they keep getting better and better.” – Reviewer When my grandpa passes, he leaves behind one request for me: hand deliver a letter to a man who lives in Sunset Ridge, Alaska and get his cabin in return. Freedom. After years spent unsuccessfully trying to appease the older sister who raised me, I’m taking my escape and don’t plan to come back. I pack up my dog and my belongings and head north. Download or read book Job Loss Identity and Mental Health written by Dawn R. Norris and published by Rutgers University Press. This book was released on 2016-06-13 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our jobs are often a big part of our identities, and when we are fired, we can feel confused, hurt, and powerless—at sea in terms of who we are. Drawing on extensive, real-life interviews, Job Loss, Identity, and Mental Health shines a light on the experiences of unemployed, middle-class professional men and women, showing how job loss can affect both identity and mental health. Sociologist Dawn R. Norris uses in-depth interviews to offer insight into the experience of losing a job—what it means for daily life, how the unemployed feel about it, and the process they go through as they try to deal with job loss and their new identities as unemployed people. Norris highlights several specific challenges to identity that can occur. For instance, the way other people interact with the unemployed either helps them feel sure about who they are, or leads them to question their identities. Another identity threat happens when the unemployed no longer feel they are the same person they used to be. Norris also examines the importance of the subjective meaning people give to statuses, along with the strong influence of society’s expectations. For example, men in Norris’s study often used the stereotype of the “male breadwinner” to define who they were. Job Loss, Identity, and Mental Health describes various strategies to cope with identity loss, including “shifting” away from a work-related identity and instead emphasizing a nonwork identity (such as “a parent”), or conversely “sustaining” a work-related identity even though he or she is actually unemployed. Finally, Norris explores the social factors—often out of the control of unemployed people—that make these strategies possible or impossible. A compelling portrait of a little-studied aspect of the Great Recession, Job Loss, Identity, and Mental Health is filled with insight into the identity crises that unemployment can trigger, as well as strategies to help the unemployed maintain their mental strength.
