Download or read book The Book of Broken Hearts written by Sarah Ockler and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2013-05-21 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When all signs point to heartbreak, can love still be a rule of the road? A “touching father-daughter story” (Kirkus Reviews) from the author of Bittersweet and Twenty Boy Summer. Jude has learned a lot from her older sisters, but the most important thing is this: The Vargas brothers are notorious heartbreakers. She’s seen the tears and disasters that dating a Vargas boy can cause, and she swore an oath—with candles and a contract and everything—to never have anything to do with one. Now Jude is the only sister still living at home, and she’s spending the summer helping her ailing father restore his vintage motorcycle—which means hiring a mechanic to help out. Is it Jude’s fault he happens to be cute? And surprisingly sweet? And a Vargas? Jude tells herself it’s strictly bike business with Emilio. Her sisters will never find out, and Jude can spot those flirty little Vargas tricks a mile away—no way would she fall for them. But Jude’s defenses are crumbling, and if history is destined to repeat itself, she’s speeding toward some serious heartbreak…unless her sisters were wrong? Jude may have taken an oath, but she’s beginning to think that when it comes to love, some promises might be worth breaking.

Book The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible

Download or read book The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible written by Charles Eisenstein and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2013-11-05 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As seen on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday A beacon of hope in the face of our current world crises, this uplifting book demonstrates how embracing our interconnectedness is key to world transformation In a time of social and ecological crisis, what can we as individuals do to make the world a better place? This inspirational and thought-provoking book serves as an empowering antidote to the cynicism, frustration, paralysis, and overwhelm so many of us are feeling, replacing it with a grounding reminder of what’s true: we are all connected, and our small, personal choices bear unsuspected transformational power. By fully embracing and practicing this principle of interconnectedness—called interbeing—we become more effective agents of change and have a stronger positive influence on the world. Throughout the book, Eisenstein relates real-life stories showing how small, individual acts of courage, kindness, and self-trust can change our culture’s guiding narrative of separation, which, he shows, has generated the present planetary crisis. He brings to conscious awareness a deep wisdom we all innately know: until we get ourselves in order, any action we take—no matter how good our intentions—will ultimately be wrong-headed and wrong-hearted. Above all, Eisenstein invites us to embrace a radically different understanding of cause and effect, sounding a clarion call to surrender our old worldview of separation, so that we can finally create the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible. With chapters covering separation, interbeing, despair, hope, pain, pleasure, consciousness, and many more, the book invites us to let the old Story of Separation fall away so that we can stand firmly in a Story of Interbeing.

Book Love Like Jesus How Jesus Loved People and how you can love like Jesus

Download or read book Love Like Jesus How Jesus Loved People and how you can love like Jesus written by Kurt Bennett and published by Enoch Media. This book was released on 2020-02-11 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on Kurt Bennett's popular-ish blog God Running, Love Like Jesus begins with the story of how after a life of regular church attendance and Bible study, Bennett was challenged by a pastor to study Jesus. That led to an obsessive seven-year deep dive. After pouring over Jesus' every interaction with another human being, he realized he was doing a much better job of studying Jesus' words than he was following Jesus' words and example. The honest and fearless revelations of Bennett's own moral failures affirm he wrote this book for himself as much as for others. Love Like Jesus examines a variety of stories, examples, and research, including: -Specific examples of how Jesus communicated God's love to others. -How Jesus demonstrated all five of Gary Chapman's love languages (and how you can too). -The story of how Billy Graham extended Christ's extraordinary love and grace toward a man who misrepresented Jesus to millions. -How to respond to critics the way Jesus did. -How to love unlovable people the way Jesus did. -How to survive a life of loving like Jesus (or how not to become a Christian doormat). -How Jesus didn't love everyone the same (and why you shouldn't either). -How Jesus guarded his heart by taking care of himself--he even napped--and why you should do the same.-How Jesus loved his betrayer Judas, even to the very end. With genuine unfiltered honesty, Love Like Jesus, shows you how to live a life according to God's definition of success: A life of loving God well, and loving the people around you well too. A life of loving like Jesus.

His mother Margaret, a Chinese American poet, left without a trace when he was nine years old. He doesn’t know what happened to her—only that her books have been banned—and he resents that she cared more about her work than about him. Then one day, Bird receives a mysterious letter containing only a cryptic drawing, and soon he is pulled into a quest to find her. His journey will take him back to the many folktales she poured into his head as a child, through the ranks of an underground network of heroic librarians, and finally to New York City, where he will finally learn the truth about what happened to his mother, and what the future holds for them both. Our Missing Hearts is an old story made new, of the ways supposedly civilized communities can ignore the most searing injustice. It’s about the lessons and legacies we pass on to our children, and the power of art to create change.

So much of what we are experiencing here has nothing to do with The Natural Environment that supports ALL of US. A person can talk about how they love things, but it all becomes Real when they Do Something Wonderful with ALL. This world is being purposely brainwashed to agree to its own demise, and at the same time many are convinced that it is for the good of everyone. This is how deranged the Social Structures and that of Politics and Religion have become. It has become common place to agree to all the insanity people have created for themselves. When we look at Children and the creatures with The Natural Environment, we do not see the same results taking place as with the overly-created things that we now have to deal. It is time to See as Children See, from Your Heart & Your Being, moreso than just Your Mind. www.DuaneTheGreatWriter.info

Book A DOOR TO THEIR HEARTS

Download or read book A DOOR TO THEIR HEARTS written by Jeannine Miceli Martin and published by Outskirts Press. This book was released on 2018-07-21 with total page 489 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing up in a Sicilian family with most of its members born and raised in America, Jeannine was eager to grasp a deeper understanding of her true heritage, not the Americanized version. She’d known that her maternal grandparents, Giuseppe Ferro and Angela Luca, had immigrated to the United States to Waltham, Massachusetts, where her mother was raised, but she hadn’t known from where, why, or when they’d arrived. She’d begun her quest for answers on Ellis Island, and from there, her grandparents’ journey had become her journey as she’d traced their paths by going to Sicily herself to learn about their lives there and what made them leave. To her surprise, Jeannine found more than their childhood villages of Ucria and Bronte. She’d discovered more Ferro cousins in Ucria. When Jeannine found a door, she’d enlisted the help of the New England Historic Genealogical Society for a quick lesson in ancestry research, which led her as far back as her three-times-great-grandparents. From that point, she built her family tree and returned to her cousins in Ucria to experience her true authentic heritage. Through legal documents, she’d followed her grandparents and other Ferro ancestors who emigrated to Waltham with them and chronicled the changes in their family lives in America, not necessarily for betterment. She’d learned from medical transcripts of a dramatic twist in her grandfather’s life as a patient in an insane asylum. While Jeannine had opened the door to her ancestry, she’d bridged a gap between the Ferro family of the past and present and the miles between Ucria and Waltham.

Book Write As If You Know The Zip Code to Their Heart

Download or read book Write As If You Know The Zip Code to Their Heart written by Nancy L. Hale M.Ed LMHC and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-11-03 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This workbook is a combination of the wisdom I have gained through my twenty-five-plus years as a psychotherapist and my prayer life. It is eclectic in that it is a mix of several techniques and ways to improve your ability to journal for healing, Past trauma can be compared to having a sliver deeply embedded into your hand. The sliver is there, and it hurts when you touch it. If you ignore it long enough, it will become infected and inflamed. It interferes with your normal functioning. In order to heal, you need to remove the sliver. The same idea goes for a past trauma or injury. If you do not release the pain and poison of that past event, your whole well-being is affected. If you do not get it out, it will fester and affect everything and poison your relationships with others and God. If ignored, your spirit becomes tarnished and you cannot be filled with love. I was inspired to write this workbook while I was sitting with a client in crisis and praying for her. Most of my writing is spirit-driven. I do hope that you will use this workbook as a tool for healing and that you allow yourself as much time as you need. Write and rewrite as many times as you need in order to heal. In between your writing, play and pray. Find a balance. Allow yourself the needed time to process and identify your feelings. It is my prayer that through your hard work using this book, you will find inner peace and health. God bless you in your journey.
