Book I Hear the Sound of Distant Drums

Download or read book I Hear the Sound of Distant Drums written by Rodney B. Forsythe and published by . This book was released on 2008-08-01 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although it's impossible for the human body to see God and live, there's a way that God can be visualized through the spirit; by what is known as spiritual vision. This procedure can only take place when the spirit over-comes the natural body, and from that point, the spirit has complete control of the glorified body that becomes existent through the workings of the spirit. Within this book I Hear the Sound of Distant Drums, you will read about how my soul left my natural body and then entered into a glorified body. Once my body of glorification became a body that was all spirit, I was then capable of entering into the "Throne Room" of God, but it was only allowable by the (very) bidding of God. As I stood before God, and as {He} sat upon {His} Throne, God had given unto me a revelation that fulfills the last days movement, as it pertains unto the last days harvest of souls. God held conversation with me many times, but these conversations wasn't with natural words as you and I would know and understand them to be, but through the spirit these words were placed within my heart, my soul, and my mind. Distant drums continuously played, and with their playing, they were bidding me to seek out their location, and though the path was straight and narrow, I discovered these drums, and along with my discovery, I discovered that they were playing at the Eastern Gate of the Kingdom of God! Yes! I soared throughout the Heavens, and I'm now bidding you to let the spirit take you where no man has ever "humanly" gone!

Book The Sound of Distant Drums

Download or read book The Sound of Distant Drums written by Chuck Knox and published by Author House. This book was released on 2005-05-09 with total page 457 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Heroes of this book are the veterans and their families whose stories span 140+ years in protecting our country. Their stories are history, filled with the mundane events of service life, the fear of combat, the horror that front line infantrymen faced, the tension that air crews and pilots faced, the vastness of the Pacific that confronted sailors, the strain on the mind and bodies of Prisoners of War, and humor viewed through the eyes of the veterans. As you read their stories listen to the voices of these veterans and picture in your mind an aging color guard from a local veterans post; visualize them marching into the mist, to the sound of distant drums and the muted bugles call, along with the men and women who have gone before. There are no large marble memorials to these individual veterans; their monument is a free United States. I am left with one thought about the experience of speaking with these people; God bless the United States of America and all who serve her.

Book Middle Earth in Magic Mirror Maps Of the Wilderland in Wales Of the Shire in England

Download or read book Middle Earth in Magic Mirror Maps Of the Wilderland in Wales Of the Shire in England written by Stephen Ponty and published by Troubador Publishing Ltd. This book was released on 2014-07-28 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work is a fresh look at the Maps of the Wilderland in The Hobbit, leading to the discovery that Professor Tolkien drew the imaginary maps from the Map of Wales back to front, or in reverse. The maps of the Shire in The Lord of The Rings are drawn likewise, of England. ‘“They are on their way to visit the land of their fathers, away east beyond Mirkwood,” put in Gandalf...’ Gandalf’s talk of the ‘land of their fathers’ is, by translation of its national anthem, Professor J.R.R. Tolkien’s hidden clue to the geography of Wales, which we learn the Professor loved, including its language. The focal point of The Hobbit, the Lonely Mountain, is identified as Cadair Idris of North-West Wales. Many of the topographical features of the Mountain coincide. The volcano-mouth Lake of the Lonely Mountain so resembles Llyn Cau of Cadair Idris. The marvel is that the lake has been overlooked so long: not only by Smaug the Dragon, but also by most commentators on The Hobbit. Which reader remembers there is a lake at all? Stephen interprets many of the allusions borrowed by Tolkien in his fantastic tale, including Beorn at the Carrock, the herons of Wales at Lake Town, and dragon fire at the Withered Heath. The work is divided into nine parts, with three site groupings. His unique focus on Tolkien’s map-making methodology will make his book relevant not only to Tolkien fans worldwide, but those interested in geography too.

Download or read book This Ain t the Summer of Love written by Steve Waksman and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2009-02-04 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This lively and entertaining revisionist history of rock music after 1970 reconsiders the roles of two genres, heavy metal and punk. Instead of considering metal and punk as aesthetically opposed to each other, Steve Waksman breaks new ground by showing that a profound connection exists between them. Metal and punk enjoyed a charged, intimate relationship that informed both genres in terms of sound, image, and discourse. This Ain't the Summer of Love traces this connection back to the early 1970s, when metal first asserted its identity and punk arose independently as an ideal about what rock should be and could become, and upends established interpretations of metal and punk and their place in rock history.

Book James Brother of Jesus and the Jerusalem Church

Download or read book James Brother of Jesus and the Jerusalem Church written by Alan Saxby and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2015-04-08 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: James, Brother of Jesus, and the Jerusalem Church opens fresh ground in our understanding of Christian origins through an exploration of the role of James in the founding of the church. Based on the author's doctoral research, that first Christian church, with its roots in the Baptist movement, is shown to be part of the broad contemporary Judaic movement for the restoration of Israel. The events surrounding the death of Jesus (their leader's brother) both confirmed their commitment to Judaic reform and transformed their understanding of it. Despite the impact of that experience, they seem to have had neither knowledge nor interest in the teaching and ministry of Jesus in Galilee. Set in the world of James, this careful study of the difficulties and opportunities facing Judaic peasants in first-century Palestine proposes that James and his other brothers moved to Jerusalem (where work was available) several years before the final visit of Jesus and, under James's leadership, became the kernel of a growing group of followers of the Baptist that would later emerge onto the page of history as the Jerusalem Church.

Book Roy Orbison

Download or read book Roy Orbison written by Peter Lehman and published by Temple University Press. This book was released on 2003-06-13 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Roy Orbison's music—whether heard in his own recordings or in cover versions of his songs—is a significant part of contemporary American culture despite the fact that he died almost a generation ago. Few of today's listeners know or remember how startlingly unique he seemed at the height of his career in the early 1960s. In this book, Peter Lehman looks at the long span of Orbison's career and probes into the uniqueness of his songs, singing, and performance style, arguing that singer/songwriters no less than filmmakers can be considered as auteurs.Unlike other pop stars, Orbison was a constant presence on the Top 40, but virtually invisible in the media during his heyday. Ignoring the conventions of pop music, he wrote complex songs and sang them with a startling vocal range and power. Wearing black clothes and glasses and standing motionless on stage, he rejected the macho self confidence and strutting that characterized the male rockers of his time. He sang about a man lost in a world of loneliness and fear, one who cried in the dark or escaped into a dream world, the only place his desires could be fulfilled. This was a man who reveled in passivity, pain, and loss.Lehman traces Orbison's development of this alternative masculinity and the use of his music in films by Wim Wenders and David Lynch. Widely admired by fellow musicians from Elvis to Jagger, Springsteen and Bono, Orbison still attracts new listeners. As a devoted fan and insightful scholar, Lehman gives us a fascinating account of "the greatest white singer on the planet," and a new approach to understanding individual singer/songwriters.
