Book I Dragon Biography of a Spiritual Transformation

Download or read book I Dragon Biography of a Spiritual Transformation written by Sonya Roy and published by Library and Archives Canada. This book was released on 2019-06-26 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "At night, I was forced back into the house for dinner and then followed the routine bath and going to bed. I remember feeling so alone and disconnected from everyone there. I was an orphan amongst them all. I couldn't relate to them, their experience and their interaction they had with each other. I was blonde with green eyes while they had blue or brown eyes and dark hair. I figured I was probably adopted and that would explain why my mother was so spiteful towards me. Many a night, I would sit by the bedroom window, pull my blind over my head and look at the stars. I would talk to the stars knowing others were there, listening to me, those who really knew me, my real family, asking and begging them to let me go back home. I wanted nothing to do with this life, I couldn't understand what was expected of me. These strangers that kept me confused and scared. I wanted to feel whole and loved again, I knew that on the other side of this dimension, amongst the stars, where my soul would be reunited to my higher-self, I could feel loved in the presence of mother/father God."This excerpt from the book gives you an insight that I was not a child like any other. After a difficult childhood and a tumultuous adolescence, I try to escape but I am pursued by my demons, my fears and a belief system that continues to sabotage all my efforts for a balanced life. This book explains the journey of a human being who must forgive herself and continue to strive forward despite her missteps and failures. I share my story in order to inspire you so that you know that you are not alone in your quest and that there is hope. The book explains my journey, my learning and how you can do the same with your life. An honest book that allows you to be flawed and to love you fully. Each concept of learning is explained with concrete examples that facilitate the integration of the spiritual work accomplished.

Book The Face Before I Was Born

Download or read book The Face Before I Was Born written by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee and published by The Golden Sufi Center. This book was released on 2009-09-01 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Face Before I was Born Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee describes the intoxicating intensity of his own spiritual journey which began when he was sixteen. Three years later he met his teacher and felt a sense of belonging beyond this world. The events that follow over the next twenty-two years tell of tremendous love, psychological breakdown, craziness, bliss, and the slow work of balancing the two worlds—the inner world of the spirit and the outer demands of everyday family life. This autobiography tells the ancient story of a spiritual transformation, one that took him into the terrifying depths and pushed him beyond every limit. As it made him vulnerable and empty, love showed him her hidden face. It has been over ten years since the original publication of the book, and this revised edition includes a new introduction and new epilogue. Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee explains that little did he know when first writing this book that this journey was just the beginning, how the real pilgrim on the spiritual journey is not the person whose story he told. Now, he explains, he sees this journey from a deeper perspective, from that of the divine pushing Itself through into human consciousness, demanding to make Itself known. The new material included in this revised edition explores the continuing mystery of human experience and divine revelation. “Llewellyn caught the meaning, the subtle essence of the spiritual training. He understood the pressing urge, that Something within the human heart, which drives the human being mercilessly on and on, no matter the sacrifice, sometimes with superhuman effort, at least to try to reach the ultimate Goal.” —Irina Tweedie, author, Daughter of Fire "Encouraged at last to tell his own story, Vaughan-Lee takes us on a magnificent inner journey home to the Beloved." —NAPRA ReView “...a splendid autobiography... with special appeal for readers seeking their own spiritual perspective.” —Wisconsin Bookwatch

Download or read book Growing Old with Grace written by Ramakrishna Michaels and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2015-08-30 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ramakrishna Michael's inspirational story is one of a child endowed with a world-class musical talent, who became a pawn in an emotionally incestuous relationship with his mother. He grew to be a troubled young man, who devolved into a disastrously dysfunctional adult, addicted to sex, drugs, and denial. In 1985 Ramakrishna met his guru, Babaji Shambhavananda, and slowly but surely, over the years, these less than desirable qualities that were part of his karmic make-up began to dissolve, fostering considerable spiritual growth and transformation. Growing Old With Grace is the story of that metamorphosis. A natural born storyteller, Ramakrishna describes, with great insight, how he transformed his life by the grace of the guru (the grace of consciousness). His eloquently written memoir, delivered candidly and with self-deprecating humor, is a story of healing and of how the author has come to terms with his demons. In short, Growing Old with Grace is a compelling tale of the power of the human spirit and of the quest for spiritual truth. It's an inspirational and motivational tale like few others and a "must-read" for anyone interested in yoga and meditation.

Book Saved From Enlightenment

Download or read book Saved From Enlightenment written by Tarini Bauliya and published by SCB Distributors. This book was released on 2015-10-05 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A memoir of one woman’s life viewed through the lens of her relationship with her spiritual teacher of over 20 years. Her candid, touching & humorous stories are told in a voice that is authentic, wry & irreverent, yet always colored with the note of longing for God that characterized her quest for something “real” from earliest childhood. As she elaborates on various stepping stones and stumbling blocks encountered on her journey―including the birth of her son, several failed relationships and her wild and highly successful ride as a national sales executive―her stories uniquely parallel the steps of any traditional spiritual path aimed at human transformation. They also help to dispel the myths and expose the assumptions about “enlightenment” ―and other fantasy solutions to the hard work of simply being human―that are so common on “the Path.” She does this by shedding an honest, heartfelt light on the real gifts & graces of her soul’s journey―a teaching of profound wisdom, a community of other dedicated devotees, and a guru who would not let her settle for less than her own intrinsic goodness. The author received this spiritual name from her guru―the American Baul master Lee Lozowick―at her own request. A few years into her 20+-year apprenticeship with him, she was ready to make a serious break with her past and to enter into a relationship of dedicated spiritual practice and service. Her request for a new name (it translates loosely as “Mad Wind Friend”) was symbolic of that transformational leap of faith. In his company, she candidly admits, she found an access point toward fulfillment of her hunger for God. Lee Lozowick (1943-2010) was an iconoclast and founder of the Western Baul path. He was the lyricist and lead singer in a rock band and a blues band, and led his troupe all over the States, Europe & India, sharing his “work-rock” music in street festivals and concert halls for over 20 years. When Tarini stumbled into his company, his effect on her life was both confronting & transformational. In the end, she reports, she was “saved from enlightenment” among other invaluable treasures, by the grace of God and skillful means of a worthy teacher. Other seekers, on any spiritual path, will find here a story that can leave a smile, a question, and a small wound on a tender heart. Her words will rekindle the longing that so many feel for a connection to their own deepest truth.
