Download or read book I d Rather Be Better Than Bitter written by Roy Major and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2007-06 with total page 462 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Along the crushed-but-not-destroyed and cast-down-but-not-forsaken, way, God told me, Go to my church that I have for you. There, they will bind up your wounds. They will break bread with you. They will drink of my cup with you. And, as you do and say whatever I command you, and go where I tell you to go, I will heal you, and indeed set you free. Later, I wrote, Never Again in Satan's Field. I vowed to never again break faith with those who died. Only to find out that my faith was never broken, only buried. I choose to forgive, rather than hold a grudge. In that, I'd rather be better, than bitter. I was born in a little town of Tuelon, Man. It wasn't much of a town back then, where nothing significant would come from there. God had set me apart before I was even born. Almost born in a ditch, God called my life into being, though the doctors said I wouldn't live an hour. The cord's wrapped around my neck 3X. Skin's as blue as the sky. Left leg 3 inches shorter than the other. Brain damaged, it was soon evident that I couldn't grasp anything or anyone, except for Jesus. The first encounter told me I was loved, while the second time of like surroundings, told me I was almost in the ditch. I had to fight to learn, only to be told that Jesus was teaching me all along the way. And, because He chose to love me, I'd become better and stronger, not bitter and weaker.

Download or read book I d rather be alone and free than locked up together written by SVEN LENDERINK and published by Sven Lenderink. This book was released on 2024-07-09 with total page 67 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book takes you on my personal journey through one of the world's most rigid religions: Jehovah's Witnesses. From my early childhood, I share my experiences within this tightly controlled world, where later in life, I began to question and confront my inner struggles. You will gain a unique insight into the faith that promised us that God would soon intervene and that we, his devoted followers, would be rewarded with a paradisiacal existence. But this utopia demands sacrifices - strict obedience to rules and shielding oneself from many worldly temptations. For a child in this isolated community, life is already a challenge, but growing up and finding one's way to adulthood brings new obstacles. Do I doubt everything I've been taught? Do I want to continue down this path? Is escape even an option? If so, what price must I pay? What follows is an emotional journey that begins at a young age. Voicing my doubts would mean being ostracized from my community. Family and friends could turn their backs on me. Literally everything is at stake. Ultimately, I face a pivotal choice: Do I remain trapped in this world, or do I choose freedom? Whichever path I take, it will forever change my life.

Download or read book The Dead Queens Club written by Hannah Capin and published by Harlequin. This book was released on 2019-01-29 with total page 403 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If your school’s homecoming king had a little too much in common with Henry VIII, would you survive with your head still attached? You’d think being the new girl in a tiny town would equal one very boring senior year. But if you’re me—Annie Marck, alias Cleves—and you accidentally transform into teenage royalty by entering Lancaster High on the arm of the king himself? Life becomes the exact opposite of boring. Henry has it all: he’s the jock, the genius and the brooding bad boy all in one. Which sort of explains why he’s on his sixth girlfriend in two years. What it doesn’t explain is why two of them—two of us—are dead. My best friend thinks it’s Henry’s fault, which is obviously ridiculous. My nemesis says we shouldn’t talk about it, which is straight-up sketchy. But as the resident nosy new girl, I’m determined to find out what really happened to Lancaster’s dead queens…ideally before history repeats itself.
