Book The Extraordinary Comeback

Download or read book The Extraordinary Comeback written by Aleah Bass and published by Writers Republic LLC. This book was released on 2023-01-20 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let me start off by saying I never thought I would see the day that my writing would actually be published and displayed. I wrote this book for my senior writing project class my senior year of college. It was a two semester class that included a lot of editing and adding to the book throughout it all with the help of my professor and classmates through Zoom since we were online my whole senior year. Personally, I love reading romance novels or dramas. My inspiration for this piece was to make it seem like a lifetime movie. I wanted the reader to really feel as though they are in the main character's shoes. While coming up with that, I thought of the idea of making up a fictional character and have them encounter real life events and ran with it. Adding to that, I made this character face hard situations that made her get to her goal of getting into her dream college. Going off of that, Cass (A totally made up character) had to face addiction, loss, heartbreak and life changing moments that altered her life forever. She comes up on top and makes her come back through self-intervention, recovery, and therapy. It's never too late to get to your dream destination and that is exactly what I wanted my character to portray.

Book Playing Hurt

Download or read book Playing Hurt written by John Saunders and published by Da Capo Press. This book was released on 2017-08-08 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the first time ever, the popular late host of ESPN's The Sports Reporters and ABC's college football openly discusses a lifelong battle with depression. During his three decades on ESPN and ABC, John Saunders became one of the nation's most respected and beloved sportscasters. In this moving, jarring, and ultimately inspiring memoir, Saunders discusses his troubled childhood, the traumatic brain injury he suffered in 2011, and the severe depression that nearly cost him his life. As Saunders writes, Playing Hurt is not an autobiography of a sports celebrity but a memoir of a man facing his own mental illness, and emerging better off for the effort. I will take you into the heart of my struggle with depression, including insights into some of its causes, its consequences, and its treatments. I invite you behind the facade of my apparently "perfect" life as a sportscaster, with a wonderful wife and two healthy, happy adult daughters. I have a lot to be thankful for, and I am truly grateful. But none of these things can protect me or anyone else from the disease of depression and its potentially lethal effects. Mine is a rare story: that of a black man in the sports industry openly grappling with depression. I will share the good, the bad, and the ugly, including the lengths I've gone to to conceal my private life from the public. So why write a book? Because I want to end the pain and heartache that comes from leading a double life. I also want to reach out to the millions of people, especially men, who think they're alone and can't ask for help. John Saunders died suddenly on August 10, 2016, from an enlarged heart, diabetes, and other complications. This book is his ultimate act of generosity to help those who suffer from mental illness, and those who love them.

He is no longer Adam Garcia, United States ambassador, but Arel Kohn. Kohn’s new life comes with remarkable gifts that equip him with the divine knowledge to guide and protect prominent leaders of many nations and bring them to the saving grace of God Almighty. Because he is chosen, he will be feeding the master’s sheep as God’s ambassador. Men of Clay, author J. Laura Chandler’s third book, manifested itself as a vision from God when she was reminded that God always has a plan, and he cares for those he calls his own. She created characters for this novel who are clever, fearless, and who embrace dangerous missions with divine courage. The supernatural characters offer insight into a new and thrilling dimension.

Book The Autobiography of Jesus X

Download or read book The Autobiography of Jesus X written by Ross Allaire and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-03-08 with total page 422 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It's not what you think. Unless you think everything is wrong. Imagine if Kurt Vonnegut and Hunter Thompson collaborated on a new version of The Bible, and you kinda get the gist. The Autobiography of Jesus X is not for the faint of heart! Here is the prophet: a cynical, dreadlocked pothead crackpot who's done all sorts of despicable things. For which He wonders if forgiveness is possible. Because now he is a only a ghost of the God he once was - now retired. After this one incarnation as a human being on Earth, he quit. As God, he had become indifferent. But as a tall black Jew with blue eyes and red hair in the Roman Empire, he proved to be too smart for his own good. Or maybe just too human. He tried to quit. The Autobiography of Jesus X is either the new Bible or the most offensive book ever written, or both. Maybe neither. This is part sci-fi/fantasy, part expose memoir, and part stand-up comedy. He pretty much frames it as His last message to humanity. So we might want to listen. Or read. Or whatever."

Book My First Encounter with an Angel

Download or read book My First Encounter with an Angel written by Sidney Schwartz and published by . This book was released on 1999-11 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My First Encounter with an Angel is the first book of the Revelations of Ancient Wisdom - AWAN Speaks series that will illuminate truths about how spirituality, mediumship, and prophecy have been hidden for centuries by Biblical translators and religious rulers. AWAN, the Angel Without A Name contacted the author, Sidney Schwartz, through the person of Carl Hewitt, a well-known trance medium. Who or what AWAN is does not ultimately matter when you read and examine the incredible information that this entity is attempting to teach. During their first encounter, AWAN revealed to the author information about deliberate changes and alterations made in the Bible throughout the centuries based on the need of Church Fathers to suppress the psychic/spiritual development of the masses. The author however, remained theologically adamant and argued with this angel. It was then that AWAN challenged the author to disprove his teachings. Using his skills as a librarian, the author researched extensively, studying over 160 versions of the Bible, only to discover that AWAN was teaching the truth! Upon reading this book, you will begin to see that the Bible is "saturated with metaphysical or mediumistic phenomena of every kind".
