Book Disciples Literal New Testament

Download or read book Disciples Literal New Testament written by Michael Magill and published by Reyma Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If You Love God's Word You Will Love This New Testament! The Disciples' Literal New Testament sets you free from our artificial 460 year old chapter and verse structure, replacing it with paragraphing that reflects the flow of thought in the original Greek writings. Paragraph headings make that flow of thought explicit to you, speeding your understanding of the NT books. This translation retains the writing style of the apostles themselves, rather than transforming their Greek ways of writing into an elegant or contemporary English writing style, as has been beautifully done so many times. It is the same translation as the author's New Testament TransLine, first published by Zondervan in 2002. Now you can read the New Testament as the original writers intended it, and see it with a clarity formerly available only to those who could carefully study their Greek New Testament. You can even see the difference in writing style between Matthew, Mark and Luke! Used along with your standard Bible version, you will profit from both methods of translation. *Easily grasp the relationship of the whole and the parts of each book with the big-picture overview outlines that use the words of the original author. *Gain quick insight into the flow of thought from descriptive paragraph headings that summarize the main point of each paragraph in its context. *You can visually follow the apostles' thinking because the 'Intelligent Paragraphing' visually displays their main and subordinate thoughts. *The hindrance to your understanding caused by our artificial chapter and verse structure is eliminated by paragraphing based on the Greek writings. *You will more fully appreciate the minds and thinking patterns and intent of the original writers because the translation corresponds more closely to their words and their grammar and their sentence structure. *Deepen and expand your understanding of the New Testament by meditating on the notes containing alternative renderings, explanations of what is being said, and different views of the meaning.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Good News for You "I've got good news and bad news. Which would you like first?" We've all heard that before. So, although I've good news for you, I have to tell you about the bad news first. That's because to find the solution, you've got to understand the problem. To find the cure, you have to understand the medical issues involved. To get where you want to go, you first need to know where you are. The Bad News: An uncrossable separation God did not create us like robots to automatically love and mechanically obey him. The first man and woman, Adam and Eve, chose to disobey God and sin against him. Each of us since has been born with that same sinful and disobedient nature. That results in spiritual separation from God. The Bible says that "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...the wages of sin is death" (Romans 3:23, 6:23). People often sense that something is wrong and try many ways to bridge the separation between themselves and God. But God reminds them, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death" (Proverbs 14:12). And "Your iniquities sins] have made a separation between you and your God" (Isaiah 59:2). Only the cross of Christ spans that chasm. The Good News: The cross--a bridge far enough Though Jesus is God's sinless Son, he became a human in order to substitute himself in place of us and pay the penalty for our sins. The Bible says "there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). "Christ...suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18). It also says "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us....the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 5:8, 6:23). Christ died on a cross and rose from the grave (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). By doing that he bridged the otherwise uncrossable chasm between God and us, providing us the only way to have forgiveness of sin, a personal relationship with God, and eternal life. Your choice: Accept or reject But in order to receive God's offer of forgiveness and have a right relationship with him, we must trust in Jesus Christ and receive him as our Substitute. Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). And the Bible adds, "To all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12). If we place our trust in Jesus Christ, "We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:1). "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son to die for us], that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). What is your decision? The Bible tells us plainly that "It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment" (Hebrews 9:27). Even though the bad news (eternal judgment for our sin) can be trumped by the good news (that Jesus died on the cross in our place to take the penalty for our sin), it depends on a choice you must make during your time on earth. The Bible says that is the only way to live to please God now and to be prepared for eternity. Will you receive Jesus Christ right now and trust in him alone for forgiveness and eternal life? Admit your need for God's forgiveness. Turn from trusting in anything else for eternal life and trust only in Christ. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross, came back to life from the grave, and is your only way to Heaven. Accept Jesus' offer to forgive your sins and become your Savior. You may want to tell him in a prayer like this: "Dear Jesus, thank you for making it possible for me to f

  • Pages : 176 pages

Download or read book 42 Seconds written by Carl Medearis and published by NavPress. This book was released on 2018-04-17 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The average length of Jesus’ conversations as recorded in the Gospels was 42 seconds long. This is good news for all of us. It frees us up to talk about the most important part of our lives in a way that’s natural, meaningful, and helpful instead of clumsy, awkward, and irrelevant. Anyone who has spent countless uncomfortable hours walking from house to house with a clipboard or flash cards that talk about four spiritual laws understands. Jesus’ conversations were remarkably simple. Contemporary Christian lingo has set up a dichotomy between what we call “discipleship” and “evangelism,” but the Bible doesn’t do that. Jesus had conversations all the time with those who thought they were close to God, as well as with those who deemed themselves lost and without hope. He invited all of them to come and learn from Him. 42 Seconds is a simple book that uses the ordinary moments of our lives the way Jesus used the same moments in his own. The premise is straightforward: If we can learn from Jesus how to have great conversations, it will change our lives and the lives of those around us. Its four-part structure, including five short chapters per section, is for churches and small groups to engage with the practical ideas together. 42 Seconds includes discussion questions to help groups and individuals implement Jesus’ natural rhythm of interaction in their own lives.

  • Pages : 113 pages

Download or read book Luke written by Kevin Perrotta and published by Loyola Press. This book was released on 2010-06 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book of Luke has been described as one of the most beautiful books ever written, and Luke: The Good News of God's Mercy brings this beauty to life for teens as they study the life of Jesus and what Jesus can mean for their lives. Luke s Gospel deals with the issue of being open to God s work through Jesus. Luke shows us that God has made salvation available through Jesus birth, life, death, and resurrection. In many ways, God s action through Jesus was unexpected, even for the Jewish people of the time. The salvation Jesus brings goes far beyond what people were looking for. It also makes demands on those who accept it. So we meet people in Luke s Gospel who are astonished by Jesus. They are struggling to understand what Jesus was offering them and how they should respond. In the Gospel of Luke, we make contact with a will other than our own. God shows that he is not a spectator-god who made a DVD of the universe billions of years ago and now sits back to watch. God has a loving plan; God makes things happen. It is this active, involved God who comes to Mary and tells her about his plan for her in Luke s Gospel. As we begin reading the Gospel of Luke, are we prepared to meet this God? Designed as a guided discovery, Six Weeks with the Bible for Catholic Teens introduces high school students to books of the Bible by integrating the biblical text with insightful questions to help youth discern what Scripture means for their lives today. The series provides students with a clear explanation of Biblical text, opportunities for prayer, and a means to enter into conversation with God. "
