Book excerpt: La catalogazione dei Beni culturali, nella sua valenza di procedimento amministrativo e di processo conoscitivo, arricchita dalle potenzialità offerte dalle odierne tecnologie e applicata all’indagine di un patrimonio inteso in una configurazione sempre più dinamica e interconnessa, costituisce un argomento ricco di problematiche e di spunti di riflessione soprattutto nell’attuale fase di riassetto dell’apposito Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali. Tante sono dunque le aperture cui il tema può introdurre e tante le possibili angolature per affrontarlo; il presente lavoro si pone nella sua sostanza come una riflessione sugli assunti concettuali di base dell’impostazione catalografica in quanto essi, pur costituendo implicitamente i cardini sui quali è stato in concreto effettuato il rilevamento dei Beni culturali, non sono stati enucleati e sistematizzati con il necessario approfondimento critico in relazione all’oggetto specifico del rilevamento medesimo, essendo stati assimilati anch’essi a fattori operativi, pur qualificandosi piuttosto quali fondamenti teoretici. Di conseguenza, per quanto riguarda la catalogazione, vengono esaminati esclusivamente gli aspetti relativi all’identificazione strutturale del Bene,con i relativi risvolti linguistici e numerici, e non quelli afferenti agli aspetti amministrativi della tutela e dell’archiviazione legati alle problematiche gestionali e di utilizzo dei documenti prodotti; è ovvio infatti che l’oggetto culturale, per la sua valenza polisemica, costituisca un importante tramite di valori artistici, tecnici, scientifici, patrimoniali ed economici che generano una quantità notevole e differenziata di tematiche e di informazioni da trattare per i singoli aspetti. La catalogazione viene così a configurarsi quale la risultante di alcune concettualizzazioni di base relative al Bene culturale ed è letta come l’esito di un processo che investe piani di approccio diversi ma strettamente interrelati: il livello percettivo, il livello cognitivo, il livello descrittivo, dei quali il primo è quello più diffusamente trattato in quanto l’atto dell’identificazione visiva, che stimola l’attenzione,risulta pur sempre prioritario e per vari aspetti condizionante le fasi successive.
