Book Childless by Marriage

Download or read book Childless by Marriage written by Sue Fagalde Lick and published by . This book was released on 2021-06 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First you marry a man who does not want children. He cheats and you divorce him. Then you marry the love of your life and find out he does not want to have children with you either. The three he has are more than enough. Although you always wanted to be a mother, you decide he is worth the sacrifice, expecting to have a long happy life together. But that's not what happens. This is the story of how a woman becomes childless by marriage and how it affects every aspect of her life. This is the book of my heart, the one I had to write. Ever since I realized I was not going to have children, I have felt recurring grief and an emptiness in my heart. I am different from most women, but I have found that I am not alone. There are many of us childless women, and I think it's important to share our stories about what it's like when you don't have children in a world where most girls grow up to become mothers. I hope this book offers comfort to those who are childless and understanding to those who are not. If it makes you smile here and there, even better.

Book excerpt: If you knew you had only a few years to live, how would you use that time? Would you allow despair to overwhelm you or would you find a way to still have a life? How could you keep the fear of death from ruining the days you had left? Many people have considered these questions in theory, but when Dave Chilcoat was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease, a fatal illness for which there is no treatment and no cure, he had to face them in reality. The day he received his diagnosis Dave began writing a journal. Soon, to keep family and friends updated on his condition, he posted his journal online. He wrote weekly for nearly three years and his chronicle was read by tens of thousands around the world. This book is the heart of that journal, the living account of a man of faith. Through Dave's own words, we see an ordinary man who faced death with a unique brand of humor, an unshakable faith in God's goodness and grace, and a heart open to God's purposes.

But even if your grandchildren's parents have established a strong Christian home, busy schedules, jobs, parenting, and all the distractions of today's world conspire to distract or even destroy the family. Even grandparents who already pray regularly for their grandchildren will discover creative suggestions for making the practice even more meaningful. Author Lillian Ann Penner provides specific examples of prayers to help you get started, such as alphabet prayers, prayers based on special scriptures, and prayers for certain holidays. The chapter letters are written in plain English and critiques to help my grandkids and others understand that our forefathers' family problems are still evident in our families today! Family issues are nothing new in the book of Genesis. Family separation in Genesis was prevalent because parents favored one child over another, there was sibling jealousy, greed among family members, and betrayal, which caused divisions in the families. Our world is suffering today because of the same problems that occurred in the book of Genesis. It is a sin to be stuck in anger toward a family member that causes division. The devil loves it! Family separation has become typical in our world. It is a crucial problem with families today. Families do not have to be separated and angry because of unresolved issues. If you say you love the Lord with all your heart and soul but hate your brother, sister, parents, and neighbors, then who do you think you are fooling? Yourselves! God said to love your neighbors, your family, and then yourself last. You will be rewarded. This book will share the stories and life problems in Genesis. God promised Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph that he would care for them and their families because they were faithful and loved unconditionally. And that promise also applies to you if you continue to be faithful like our patriarchs. This book will have you think before you decide to cause family separation. It will help you uncover past hurt and pain. It will humble your heart to forgive the ones that have hurt you!

Book To Give Witness

    Book Details:
  • Author : Gordon Kunkler
  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2020-01-30
  • ISBN : 1098011945
  • Pages : 114 pages

Download or read book To Give Witness written by Gordon Kunkler and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-01-30 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote this book also for a number of reasons. There are people and organizations that want to take our faith and beliefs away from us. In many ways, we have already lost a lot of ground and some of our ways of practicing our faith. Our forefathers came to this country for freedom of faith. They were tired of being told how they had to worship God or that they couldn't do this or that. Our country was founded on the idea of freedom of religion. We have the right to worship where and when we feel like worshiping God. By doing this, I am not telling anyone else what they can do or how to worship. I am just practicing my faith. Others are free to not worship and stay home on Sundays and do nothing if this is what makes them happy. But they don't need to tell me where I can hang a picture of Jesus, put up a cross or sign, or where I can pray to my savior. I have showed in this book where we have lost some of our freedom because we did nothing. Those with money have won out in many ways. We may not be rich in money, but we all have a voice and legs to stand on. We can't convince anyone that we are right by saying, "Okay, we won't defend what we believe." This we have done too often. The prophets were perhaps the first to give witness to us and then Jesus and then the apostles and the church after that. All of creation, if we look at what God has created and is still creating, should all be witnesses. The big bang theory just doesn't work. Everything had to begin with something. Where did this something come from if not from an all-knowing supreme being. This I all tried to bring out in my book, as well as the time when God spoke for himself when the sky opened and a voice from the clouds said, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him." In this book, I have witnessed again and also some of my friends have given their witness in hope of convincing others how important our faith is and how we all need to respond to attacks on our faith. If you want to share your faith in Jesus and how you have seen God work in your life, I would like to tell you to maybe write your own book. If you say that it isn't possible for you to write, I would like you to send me the story of God's work in your life. When I get enough, I may have another book to write. If God wants you to write, he will help you. He helped me. A few years ago, a friend read my first book and shared her story with me. I told her that she should write her own book, and she did; in fact, she has written several. Her name is Vicki Leigh. I shared a part of her story in this book. Will you stand up or speak for your faith?

Book excerpt: Nearly 20% of all pregnancies in the U.S. end in miscarriage or stillbirth. Yet pregnancy loss is seldom acknowledged and rarely discussed. Opening the topic to a thoughtful and informed discussion, Linda Layne takes a historical look at pregnancy loss in America, reproductive technologies and the cultural responses surrounding miscarriage. Examining both support groups and the rituals they create to help couples through loss, her analysis offers valuable insight on how material culture contributes to conceptions of personhood. A fascinating examination, Motherhood Lost is also a provocative challenge to feminists and other activists to increase awareness and provide necessary support for this often hidden but critically important topic.
