Book I Am the Water Bucket

Download or read book I Am the Water Bucket written by Grady Jim Robinson and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2013-10-09 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After reading the latest biography of baseball legend Mickey Mantle, the authors hero, he was stunned to realize that his own life had, in his later years turned out much like Hall of Famer Mantle; a life of deep regret, guilt, depression and alcoholism. Robinson immediately recognized a series of similarities in their childhood experiences, especially with their respective relationships with their fathers. Robinson decided to journey to Commerce, Oklahoma on a kind of pilgrimage to the childhood home of the baseball legend and see if he could find some insights about his own life. The journey opened up painful questions about his relationship with his football coach father and led him to further investigation of the father/son issues of some of his favorite authors such as Hemingway, Faulkner, McMurtry, Salinger and James Joyce. The pilgrimage ended in a visit to the grave of his father and served to reset his life back on course. He has written with pain, humor, honesty and insight about his "Salvation Through Mickey Mantle."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Living the Christian life is not easy, especially in today’s culture. To be who and do what God commands, Christians need to recapture the miraculous. Unfortunately, miracles have been left either with cable TV faith healers or tour guides in the Holy Land. That has to change, because it’s by seeing what God does that we discover who He is. And knowing who He is and what He does will change who we are and what we do. Pastor Gregg Matte believes that the seven “I AM” statements and the seven miracles recorded in the Gospel of John can give believers a framework for living God’s will. In I AM Changes Who i Am, readers will explore what Jesus says and does and find out what that means for their walk with Him.

Each of us has an invisible bucket. When our bucket is full, we feel great. When it’s empty, we feel awful. Yet most children (and many adults) don’t realize the importance of having a full bucket throughout the day. In How Full Is Your Bucket? Felix then realizes that everything he says or does to other people fills or empties their buckets as well. Follow along with Felix as he learns how easy it can be to fill the buckets of his classmates, teachers and family members. Before the day is over, you’ll see how Felix learns to be a great bucket filler, and in the process, discovers that filling someone else’s bucket also fills his own.
