Book The Theory And Practice Of Hydrodynamics And Vibration

Download or read book The Theory And Practice Of Hydrodynamics And Vibration written by Chakrabarti Subrata Kumar and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2002-11-05 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers the basics of the hydrodynamics and vibration of structures subjected to environmental loads. It describes the interaction of hydrodynamics with the associated vibration of structures, giving simple explanations. Emphasis is placed on the applications of the theory to practical problems. Several case studies are provided to show how the theory outlined in the book is applied in the design of structures. Background material needed for understanding fluid-induced vibrations of structures is given to make the book reasonably self-sufficient. Examples are taken mainly from the novel structures that are of interest today, including ocean and offshore structures and components.Besides being a text for undergraduates, this book can serve as a handy reference for design engineers and consultants involved in the design of structures subjected to dynamics and vibration.

Book Stochastic Equations Theory and Applications in Acoustics Hydrodynamics Magnetohydrodynamics and Radiophysics Volume 2

Download or read book Stochastic Equations Theory and Applications in Acoustics Hydrodynamics Magnetohydrodynamics and Radiophysics Volume 2 written by Valery I. Klyatskin and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-07-14 with total page 489 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In some cases, certain coherent structures can exist in stochastic dynamic systems almost in every particular realization of random parameters describing these systems. Dynamic localization in one-dimensional dynamic systems, vortexgenesis (vortex production) in hydrodynamic flows, and phenomenon of clustering of various fields in random media (i.e., appearance of small regions with enhanced content of the field against the nearly vanishing background of this field in the remaining portion of space) are examples of such structure formation. The general methodology presented in Volume 1 is used in Volume 2 Coherent Phenomena in Stochastic Dynamic Systems to expound the theory of these phenomena in some specific fields of stochastic science, among which are hydrodynamics, magnetohydrodynamics, acoustics, optics, and radiophysics. The material of this volume includes particle and field clustering in the cases of scalar (density field) and vector (magnetic field) passive tracers in a random velocity field, dynamic localization of plane waves in layered random media, as well as monochromatic wave propagation and caustic structure formation in random media in terms of the scalar parabolic equation.

Book Hydrodynamic Stability Theory

Download or read book Hydrodynamic Stability Theory written by A. Georgescu and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 1985 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The great number of varied approaches to hydrodynamic stability theory appear as a bulk of results whose classification and discussion are well-known in the literature. Several books deal with one aspect of this theory alone (e.g. the linear case, the influence of temperature and magnetic field, large classes of globally stable fluid motions etc.). The aim of this book is to provide a complete mathe matical treatment of hydrodynamic stability theory by combining the early results of engineers and applied mathematicians with the recent achievements of pure mathematicians. In order to ensure a more operational frame to this theory I have briefly outlined the main results concerning the stability of the simplest types of flow. I have attempted several definitions of the stability of fluid flows with due consideration of the connections between them. On the other hand, as the large number of initial and boundary value problems in hydrodynamic stability theory requires appropriate treat ments, most of this book is devoted to the main concepts and methods used in hydrodynamic stability theory. Open problems are expressed in both mathematical and physical terms.

Book Hydrodynamics of Unstable Media

Download or read book Hydrodynamics of Unstable Media written by Boris A. Trubnikov and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1996-02-08 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the first time, exact analytical solutions are available for some of the most interesting types of problems arising in physics and applied mathematics. Hydrodynamics of Unstable Media outlines the theory of "quasi-gaseous" unstable media, and demonstrates how the theory can be used to obtain analytical solutions. Until now, the solutions to many of the examples considered in this new book have been numerical or partial solutions. By developing a new theory of hydrodynamics for unstable media, the authors provide a means for scientists and mathematicians to solve problems exactly and analytically. Solutions to some 50 problems are provided! Hydrodynamics of Unstable Media features interdisciplinary discussions by internationally recognized authors.

Download or read book Post Newtonian Hydrodynamics written by Gilberto Medeiros Kremer and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2022-01-18 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces and develops post-Newtonian kinetic and phenomenological theories in a self-contained manner. The starting point for phenomenological theory is Einstein’s field equations from which the first and second post-Newtonian approximations are derived. Within phenomenological theory, Eulerian hydrodynamic equations are obtained and the conservation laws are derived. The kinetic counterpart of the theory is developed within the framework of Boltzmann equation, where the post-Newtonian equilibrium distribution function and the hydrodynamic equations are determined. Some astrophysical applications of post-Newtonian hydrodynamic equations, such as stellar structure models for stars, the spherically symmetrical accretion of a gas into a massive object, the Jeans instability (which is responsible for the collapse of interstellar gas clouds), and the galaxy rotation curves, are presented and the importance of post-Newtonian corrections is discussed. This book will be helpful not only as a text for advanced courses, but also as a reference for physicists, astrophysicists, and applied mathematicians who are interested in the phenomenological and kinetic post-Newtonian theory and its applications.
