Download or read book Always a Pleasure written by Rita Sanders and published by Author House. This book was released on 2010-03-25 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about the six lovely Samoyeds with whom I have shared my heart and my home over the last 27 years. Zara was my first Samoyed, she was a beautiful dog but very naughty She did an awful lot of damage to the house and to personal property. Not to mention the incident with the police. She should have put me off the breed altogether, but, fortunately, she did not. After Zara, there was Max, Tia, Siani, Tsar and Misty. This is their story. We now have only Tsar and Misty, we have just returned from our walk. The sun was shining and it was really warm. Tsar and my husband went round the fields at 90 miles an hour, Misty and myself walked at a much more leisurely pace. We ambled along, Misty stopped every few yards to sniff the ground, perhaps she had picked up the trail of a fox. I gazed at the luscious green grass in the fields around me, I saw the vast assortment of wild flowers and berries growing in the hedgerow and watched the various species of butterflies. It was peaceful and tranquil, the silence broken only by the whistling and chirping of the many varieties of birds. Just for a short while, at least, all seemed well with the world.

Download or read book Shamans and Analysts written by John Merchant and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2012-03-12 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shamans and Analysts provides a model by which to understand the wounded healer phenomenon. It provides evidence as to how this dynamic arises and gives a theoretical model by which to understand it, as well as practical implications for the way analysts' wounds can be transformed and used in their clinical work. By examining shamanism through the lens of contemporary approaches to archetype theory, this book breaks new ground through specifying the developmental foreground to the shaman archetype, which not only underpins the wounded healer but constitutes those regarded as ‘true Jungians’. Further areas of discussion include: Siberian shamanism contemporary archetype theory countertransference phenomena in psychotherapy socio-cultural applications of psychoanalytic theory. These original and thought-provoking ideas offer a revolutionary way to understand wounded healers, how they operate and how they should be trained, ultimately challenging traditional analyst / analysand stereotypes. As such this book will be of great interest to all Jungians, both in training and practice, as well as psychoanalysts, psychotherapists and counsellors with an interest in the concept of the wounded healer.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Couples spend an enormous amount of time and energy planning for the perfect wedding. But what about planning for the perfect marriage? In these times of rampant divorce and "relationship" crises, it makes sense to think seriously about the many challenges of married life that loom so large today. The Book of Marriage offers a treasury of marital wisdom from across the ages. Intellectually engaging, morally rich, and ideologically balanced, this anthology gathers some of the deepest, wittiest, and most edifying perspectives on the big questions of married life: Why get married at all? Can love last a lifetime? How do we handle money? Who's the boss? What about children? Conflict? Growing old? Illness and death? There is even a chapter on divorce -- one calculated to save a few marriages. To date there has been no single comprehensive book of source readings on marriage and family life. Assembled with the aid of noted scholars from various fields, this volume treats marriage as more than just a relationship -- as an institution, a vocation, and a source of great spiritual and emotional rewards. Each chapter introduces a different quandary of marriage and then culls the best from ancient and modern writings on the theme. The compendium of cultural wisdom on marriage ranges from the Bible and Eastern wisdom to Aristotle, St. Augustine, Maimonides, and Judith Wallerstein; from Homer, Shakespeare, Milton, and Jane Austen to Edward Albee, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Bill Cosby. An important resource for young adults, college students, engaged and married couples, educators, marriage counselors, therapists, pastors, and other family professionals, The Book of Marriage celebrates the diversity and essential humanity of the marital experience in a way that is accessible, entertaining, and eminently useful.
