It was just a rustic cabin in the woods, but over time it grew roots into the heart of an entire family. Learn about the colorful characters that have graced the camp over the years in this hunting camp memoir. Hear the rich and funny tales from days past about poachers and pranks, bears and bucks, and even voices from the great beyond. The author's life was upended at age 3 when his mother died and he had to leave home and live with relatives. The hunting camp was his rock throughout an unconventional childhood. It also served as a bridge to maintain his relationship with his father, and later in adulthood, his own son. Join the author on a journey that will make you laugh and cry. "That Hunting Camp" will show you how a cabin in the woods can mean so much more to a family than one could ever imagine.

Book Successful Black Bear Hunting

For some bear hunting holds the possibility of being attacked by the blood thirsty beast they are stalking, for others it's eliminating nothing more than a pesky pest, and still for others it's the chance to catch a treasured fleeting glimpse of a true symbol of the wilderness. Woods-wise sporting enthusiasts rate the black bear as one of the most elusive beasts in the wild, making him difficult to study in his native habitat. Fortunately Bill Vaznis provides hunters with everything they need to know about black bears, and how to successfully harvest them, in this compelling combination of entertaining hunting stories and how-to information. Coverage includes where to hunt bears and choosing the right outfitter; hunting trophy bears; and getting the most out of a hunt.

Book The Hunting of the President

Download or read book The Hunting of the President written by Joe Conason and published by Macmillan. This book was released on 2001-02-03 with total page 690 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Hillary Clinton spoke of "a vast right-wing conspiracy" determined to bring down the president, many people dismissed the idea. Yet if the first lady's accusation was exaggerated, the facts that have since emerged point toward a covert and often concerted effort by Bill Clinton's enemies--abetted by his own reckless behavior--which led inexorably to impeachment. Clinton's foes launched a cascade of well-financed attacks that undermined American democracy and nearly destroyed the Clinton presidency. In vivid prose, Joe Conason and Gene Lyons, two award-winning veteran journalists, identify the antagonists, reveal their tactics, trace the millions of dollars that subsidized them, and examine how and why mainstream news organizations aided those who were determined to bring down Bill Clinton, The Hunting of the President may very well be the All the President's Men of this political regime.

Book Predator Hunting

Download or read book Predator Hunting written by Bill Bynum and published by . This book was released on 2004 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the effects of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) of the European Union (EU) on the national foreign policies of Ireland and Austria. Small and neutral EU member states provide a fascinating case-study as the CFSP entails a dilemma. Their size may create assumptions that they are more likely to adopt EU policy, yet the traditional position of neutrality acts contrary to Europeanization. By concentrating on the reciprocal relationship between EU and national foreign policy, the book takes a new and innovative approach to investigate prospects for a common European foreign policy, and goes beyond an examination of changes in the national foreign policies of Ireland and Austria to provide an engaging explanation and understanding of Europeanization. Based on a comprehensive conceptual framework, this text investigates three dimensions of national foreign policy; the Europeanization of foreign policy-making, the Europeanization of foreign policy substance and effects on neutrality, to create an accessible and informed insight into the evolution of European cooperation and foreign policy, and the impact on national identity. EU Foreign Policy and the Europeanization of Neutral Stateswill be of interest to students and scholars of European Studies, International relations and Foreign Policy.
