Book excerpt: Access is pleased to present Chaplain Durbin's first book. Dr. Durbin is widely recognized as a leader in the modern field of Hypnotherapy. He writes "The purpose of this book is to show that Human Trinity Hypnotherapy can help us to overcome unwanted habits, fears, phobias & negative lifestyles so that we can live healthier, happier, more positive & productive lives... Though the book is written for the general public, I hope that it will motivate pastors to further study & use hypnosis in their ministry. I also hope that Christian people will be more responsive to using hypnosis for the living of the abundant life. I sense that Human Trinity Hypnotherapy will become a classic in the libraries of health care professionals & hypnotherapists because Dr. Durbin does not rely on filler dialogue & rhetoric. He explains complicated concepts in an easy to understand style. More important, this book provides information on every page that can be put to use immediately in a private practice, clinical or pastoral setting, or in your own personal life....I encourage the readers of this significant book to take a little extra time to read & digest the information."--R.D. Book Hypnosis Healing and the Christian

Download or read book Hypnosis Healing and the Christian written by John Court and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2002-06-04 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hypnosis is a controversial practice with many myths about its power and dangers. 'Hypnosis, Healing and the Christian' cuts through the confusion to present a balanced defense of the use of hypnosis by Christians, arguing that it is a powerful tool in bringing about psychological change. John Court avoids minimizing the dangers of this powerful phenomenon, as he discusses examples of clinical hypnosis by Christians who have found emotional and spiritual benefits from its use. Setting ethical concerns about the use of hypnosis firmly within a framework of the biblical material, he argues that hypnosis is a morally neutral technique which may be used for good or ill. Its use by pagan and other religions should not prevent its constructive and godly use by Christians. This stimulating book will be of interest not only to those involved in counseling and healing ministries but also to Christians interested in broader understanding of how our human minds work.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spiritual Hypnotherapy Scripts provides access to the quantum field of consciousness, the spiritual realm from which all healing flows. Learn how spiritual hypnotherapy and working directly with the client's higher Self can deepen and expand the healing process. Dr. Holmes-Meredith presents her approach to teaching and working with hypnotherapy with ten Taoist precepts taught through the ancient Taoist text the Tao Te Ching. Also included are interviews with six of her hypnotherapy graduates who share how working with a spiritual approach to hypnotherapy not only supports profound transformation in their clients, but also supports their own on-going healing and evolution of consciousness. These hypnotherapy scripts include empowering and open-ended language patterns and transformational approaches for presenting issues related to the body, mind and spirit. Unlike most published hypnosis scripts, these hypnotherapy scripts use therapeutic processes that allow the hypnotherapist and client to personalize the trance experience by following the client in an interactive way. The client will engage in a direct relationship with his higher Self as an inner resource and guide throughout the trance experience. The fifty-two hypnotherapy scripts and a script for teaching the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) are proven approaches Dr. Holmes-Meredith teaches hypnotherapists at HCH Institute and uses in her private practice.

Book The Trinity of Trauma Ignorance Fragility and Control

Download or read book The Trinity of Trauma Ignorance Fragility and Control written by Ellert Nijenhuis and published by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht. This book was released on 2017-04-03 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Enactive trauma therapy is grounded in so-called enactivism, which holds that, like anyone else, traumatized individuals are (1) embrained, embodied, and environmentally embedded; (2) constitute biopsychological organism-environment systems that are essentially interested in preserving their existence; (3) are primarily affective and oriented toward making sense of things. Individuals exhibit a phenomenal self, world, and self-of-the-world through self- and world-oriented actions. They do not act on the basis of knowledge, but possess knowledge on the basis of world-engaged sensorimotor, affect-laden, and goal-oriented actions. Whenever interpersonal traumatization by significant others occurs, individuals may get caught up in affective and relational conflicts they cannot resolve on their own. Their generation and maintenance of a trauma-related dissociation of the personality involves a kind of sense-making that supports their continued existence when their capacity to integrate traumatic experiences is still too low. However, what starts as a courageous effort to navigate a traumatizing life may at some point in time become a serious problem. Enactive trauma therapy comprises the collaboration of two organism-environment systems: the patient and the therapist. Together they spawn new meaning and adequate actions – an interaction that resembles dancing: It takes pacing, mutual attunement, good timing, a sensitivity to balance, movement and rhythm, courage, as well as the ability and willingness to follow and lead.
