Book Human Resource Management Practices

Download or read book Human Resource Management Practices written by Monica Sifuna-Evelia and published by Partridge Publishing Singapore. This book was released on 2017-07-25 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objective of this book is to link my human resource management experiences with my perception on what the Bible demonstrates about human resource management in general. My experiences are derived from industries such as health, media, security, education, manufacturing, and the banking industry. The Scripture quoted in this book is from the Holy Bible, New International Version (NIV). In the book, I have also made a number of references to the Kenyan Labor Laws of 2007 (Employment Act 2007, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Labor Relations Act 2007). This book serves to enlighten employees about human resource management. Employees should learn that when a human resource practitioner does something, it is not out of malice but rather in line with the human resource policies. It is therefore the duty of the employees to adhere to the employee code of conduct and the human resource policies. Managers in other departments will also get enlightened to embrace and support the human resource department. These managers should learn that human resource policies apply to everyone in the organization regardless of their job titles. The human resource department is just as important as any other department in any organization. Human resource practitioners are therefore to be treated with respect and dignity as a part of the larger team driving the vision of the organization. Human resource practitioners will be encouraged to learn that in my perspective, the Bible is in support of human resource management practices. The Bible also gives human resource practitioners guidelines on how to run the human resource function. The human resource practitioners should therefore demonstrate integrity and professionalism as they work in this noble profession. Students joining universities will get motivation to pursue human resource management as a career from my story in this book. This is a unique, interesting, and well-rewarding career.

Book Contemporary 21st Century Strategic Human Resources Management

Download or read book Contemporary 21st Century Strategic Human Resources Management written by Aaron Bradley Locklear and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2024-01-03 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the macrame of complex strategies weaved together to align an organization's human resources with its objectives. Solidly placed at the core of modern business operations, the importance of SHRM cannot be overstated. As an HR consultant and a tour guide through this terrain, I find particular intrigue in the merging of biblical teachings with current SHRM practices. In essence, SHRM is people-oriented to its core, underpinned by principles akin to the Bible's teachings of love, respect, and fairness. Behold, then, an ethical framework rooted deeply in fairness and respect for human dignity emerges from the confluence of religious principles and modern human resource strategies. Imagine integrating the wisdom of the Bible, such as the golden rule - treat others as one would like others to treat oneself (Matthew 7:12) into business strategies? Picture a workplace culture shaped by servant leadership where leaders use their influence for the benefit of their team, akin to the shepherd overseeing his flock (1 Peter 5:2). Such is the stunning vista we encounter when we approach SHRM from a biblical perspective. In this new light, conflict management becomes less a contentious issue and more a path of harmonious co-existence. Paul's teaching in Romans, to "live peaceably with all" (Romans 12:18), advocates for a harmonious workplace environment, a tenet aligned simultaneously with both biblical principles and SHRM. Integrating these religious tenets into corporate strategy may appear akin to fitting a square peg in a round hole. However, the result is the formation of an ethical axis on which managerial decisions pivot to foster respect for humanity and promote fair practices. What the Bible brings to the SHRM table is invaluable wisdom and guidance. By aligning human resource practices to biblical principles, organizations build an empathetic, respectful work environment that motivates every employee to achieve their full potential. Remember, people are the organization's most valuable asset. Therefore, viewing SHRM through a biblical lens reminds us of the essential dignity and respect that each human deserves. The marriage of biblical teachings with SHRM practices results in a concerto that strikes a high note in organizational harmony, productivity, and success. After all, every successful organization thrives on the foundation of compassion, justice, respect, and love.

Book Biblical Principles of Leading and Managing Employees

Download or read book Biblical Principles of Leading and Managing Employees written by BRUCE E. WINSTON and published by Palgrave MacMillan. This book was released on 2019-06-14 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the scriptural concepts that apply to leading and managing people. It begins with a chapter that contrasts leaders, managers, and administrators and the roles they each play. The book then presents the seven virtues from the Beatitudes and how these virtues result in leaders and managers' behaviors. The book then reviews the 15 characteristics of what love is and what love is not from the 1 Corinthians 12 passage. The book presents the four modalities of leaders as conveyed in the Ezekiel 1 and 10 chapters, as well as Revelations 4 where Ezekiel and John describe the four faces of the winged beings. The modalities are described in terms of contemporary leaders interacting with employees in the workplace. A chapter follows, based on the Parable of the Vineyard and how leaders should provide a minimum living wage. The book then compares the wife in Proverbs 31 to a good leader/manager in today's contemporary organization. The book ends with an admonition from Ecclesiastes 3:1 about the need for leaders/managers to step away and not meddle when the leader/manager's role is finished. Throughout the book, composite case examples provide practical application of the concepts to contemporary organizations.

Book Management

Download or read book Management written by Myron D. Rush and published by David C Cook. This book was released on 2002 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is your model for management? Most Christian leaders will answer one of two ways: * I gleaned it from college and work. * I gleaned it from theological training and ministry. The problem is, what the first can lack in biblical principle, the second will often lack in biblical practicality. In this updated classic, Myron Rush gives excellent counsel--biblically principled and biblically practical--to those who have been called of God to lead and manage others.

Book Biblical Economic Policy Ten Scriptural Truths for Fiscal and Monetary Decision Making

Download or read book Biblical Economic Policy Ten Scriptural Truths for Fiscal and Monetary Decision Making written by David Arnott PhD and published by AuthorLoyalty. This book was released on 2021-09-06 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does the Bible say about economics? A lot. What about socialism, which is becoming an increasingly common concern in US economic policy discussions? In Biblical Economic Policy, Arnott and Saydometov build a biblical framework for analyzing national economic policy that takes on everything from taxes to spending to tariffs to minimum wage. The Bible has something to say about all these critical present-day issues, and this book explains how to apply it to 21st-century policies. Authors Dave Arnott and Sergiy Saydometov hold up the mirror of the Bible and ask their fellow Christians, “Is this the way we're supposed to run a biblical economy?” What the book is not: ● It is NOT a financial advice book. ● It is NOT about how to apply business principles at work. ● It is NOT about stewardship or giving. ● It is NOT about how to run your business for the glory of God. Biblical Economic Policy takes the macroeconomic view and analyzes how well America's economic policies align with biblical principles. This book tackles difficult present-day economic policies, including taxes, spending, national debt, interest rates, and money supply. Written with sound biblical grounding, in accessible language, Biblical Economic Policy will turn the common reader into a biblical economic analyst.

Book excerpt: From globalization to the digital revolution, secularization to the great recession, change has never happened so fast and wide and deep as we have seen in recent years. The nature of information and the speed with which it travels is unparalleled, and it is changing our world in seismic ways that reach into every crevice of our lives. It's as if the tectonic plates of society and culture are being torn apart and reshaped right under our feet. We are living through a cultural "GLOBEQUAKE." How should we respond as families? In business? Through our churches? With the hope and stability found not on this shifting ground but in the one who created the heavens and earth, says pastor and best-selling author Wallace Henley. Drawing from his experiences in politics and journalism plus his deep biblical knowledge, Henley's analysis is clear, insightful, and thought provoking. There is no alarmist agenda here. Globequake is a well-reasoned guide to navigating the spheres of our lives in a godly manner, even as those spheres wobble on their axes. "Globequake looks at current events and puts them in the context of the larger prophetic picture." ?Cal Thomas, syndicated and USA Today columnist, and Fox News contributor.

Book excerpt: In this new edition of a modern classic, Thomas Howard contrasts the Christian and secular worldviews, refreshing our minds with the illuminated vision of reality that inspired the world in times past and showing us that we cannot live meaningful lives without it. Howard explains in clear and beautiful prose the way materialism robs us of beauty, depth, and truth. With laser precision and lyrical ponderings he takes us through the dismal reductionist view of the world to the shimmering significance of the world as sign and sacrament. More timely now than when it was first written, this book is a prophetic examination of modern society's conscience.

Book Faith Based Human Resource Management

Download or read book Faith Based Human Resource Management written by David A. Robinson and published by . This book was released on 2018-01-11 with total page 157 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is for managers (owners, executives, and supervisors of businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government entities) who occasionally or often think about God and the Bible when managing employees. Written by Connecticut lawyer David A. Robinson, it discusses laws pertaining to employment and human resource management. It occasionally uses Bible quotes to illustrate what the employment laws say. Employment law is derived in many ways from the Bible. David is not a preacher. But he has found some Bible quotes that happen to be very good teaching tools for employers. They teach how to achieve a diverse workforce, maximum worker productivity, legal compliance, fewer lawsuits, clearer conscience, and, hopefully, good profits. David's book is for people of all faiths. It is an excellent textbook or supplemental reading for business students and law students. David has 40 years of experience handling employment discrimination cases. He taught business ethics and human resource management at the University of New Haven from 2005 to 2014. He taught legal ethics from 1979 to 1982 and business law from 2001 to 2005 at Western New England University. He earned his J.D. in 1977 from Washington University in St. Louis.
