It further investigates how these working situations are impacting the employee’s commitment. The qualitative research design and methodology in the research study seek to provide deeper insight into the commitment issues faced by employees and how they manage to overcome or reflect on their assigned task. The data was collected from the ministry of education employees and supervisors and analyzed their experience through thematic analysis. The analysis concludes that HR has introduced significant health crisis management practices in the ministry of education. These implemented practices include SOPs, work from home, telecommunication, and reduction in staff, which have significantly impacted employee performance and commitment. Working conditions have changed due to the acceptance of online gadgets.

Book excerpt: The present study seeks to investigate the human resource management (HRM) syste ms' dynamics and applied human resource (HR) practices in Lebanese organizations and to establish their relationship with employee commitment and citizenship be havior. The research exploits existing secondary literature to generate recent research themes related to HRM, commitment and citizenship behavior. As well, the project will include a primary research component through semi-structured interviews wi th key people in leading Lebanese companies and also through questionnaires admi nistered to a sample of employees in these firms. The study shows that HR practices such as supportive environment, fairness and e quality, and employee empowerment have significant positive effect on fostering employee organizational commitment and citizenship behavior. In the Lebanese context, the study reveals that there are very promising example s of vital HRM structures that promote employees' support and acknowledge their efforts while trying to capitalize on their competences, commitment, and display ed discretionary behaviors. Finally, the research proposes some suggestions for further research as well as recommendations to companies' management and HR management.

Descriptive approach was applied in this research. In order to collect primarily data, a self-completed questionnaire was designed and distributed and received 100 in-house respondents. The participants are from the human resources directorate forming a mixture of managers, officers, policemen, and civilian employees. For descriptive statistics, SPSS was applied. Based in the findings of this study, the conclusions are as follows: The HRMS is effective and can improve the Ministry’s employees’ performance and the Ministry has benefited greatly from it in terms of availability, integration, ease of use, and time saving. However, it needs further technical improvements, information-related enhancements, teamwork communication, and end-of-service delivery to customers. Key Words: Availability, Integration, Ease of Use, and Time Saving.

The 2019 World Development Report will study how the nature of work is changing as a result of advances in technology today. Technological progress disrupts existing systems. A new social contract is needed to smooth the transition and guard against rising inequality. Significant investments in human capital throughout a person’s lifecycle are vital to this effort. If workers are to stay competitive against machines they need to train or retool existing skills. A social protection system that includes a minimum basic level of protection for workers and citizens can complement new forms of employment. Improved private sector policies to encourage startup activity and competition can help countries compete in the digital age. Governments also need to ensure that firms pay their fair share of taxes, in part to fund this new social contract. The 2019 World Development Report presents an analysis of these issues based upon the available evidence.
