Success in optometry school is defined as National Board of Examiners in Optometry Part One score and cumulative optometry school GPA. Methods: 11 years of student data (2000-2011) collected from Northeastern State University-Oklahoma College of Optometry. 275 student academic transcripts and admission data have been made unidentifiable to by a school administrator. Data was analyzed using a step-wise linear regression.

However, with the advent of the Optometry Centralized Applications Service, no research could be found on the predictors of success as it relates to those variables. This study evaluates the ability of these variables to predict the GPA of students in the Michigan College of Optometry.
