Book excerpt: How to Stop Stuttering The logical and traditional way to approach stuttering is to try to treat, stop, overcome or manage it. The only problem is, this way often does not work. This guide will present to you another view, one that I think you'll find far more effective and successful in helping you achieve your fluency and life goals. You know that you are capable of being, doing and having more. You know that you are intelligent and are able or want to be able to contribute more to your job, class, family, community and world. But, something has been holding you back. You've felt limited, even controlled by stuttering. Well, the great news is that you can learn to start speaking more smoothly, fluently and confidently, but only IF you approach it from a completely different direction. My name is Michael Williams and I'm the founder of The Start Speaking Training Center and the PRO90D Speech System, and I stuttered for over 20 years. In this guide, I'm going to share with you no only how I have used stuttering as a springboard to excellent speech, but, how I am helping thousands of people around the globe do the same. If you are truly ready to make a change, and have an open mind, I believe you WILL find something in this guide that will truly transform your entire life. And, I don't say that lightly. This guide contains the pure essence of all of the techniques and strategies I use everyday to help people just like you unlock their speaking potential. This is not hype, or theory. My approach to how to stop stuttering draws from the fields of Neuroscience, Neuroplasticity, Accelerated Learning Strategies, High Performance Training and real life experience. Book Self therapy for the Stutterer

Download or read book Self therapy for the Stutterer written by Malcolm Fraser and published by The Stuttering Foundation. This book was released on 2002 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Malcolm Fraser knew from personal experience what the person who stutters is up against. His introduction to stuttering corrective procedures first came at the age of fifteen under the direction of Frederick Martin, M.D., who at that time was Superintendent of Speech Correction for the New York City schools. A few years later, he worked with J. Stanley Smith, L.L.D., a stutterer and philanthropist, who, for altruistic reasons, founded the Kingsley Clubs in Philadelphia and New York that were named after the English author, Charles Kingsley, who also stuttered. The Kingsley Clubs were small groups of adult stutterers who met one night a week to try out treatment ideas then in effect. In fact, they were actually practicing group therapy as they talked about their experiences and exchanged ideas. This exchange gave each of the members a better understanding of the problem. The founder often led the discussions at both clubs. In 1928 Malcolm Fraser joined his older brother Carlyle who founded the NAPA-Genuine Parts Company that year in Atlanta, Georgia. He became an important leader in the company and was particularly outstanding in training others for leadership roles. In 1947, with a successful career under way, he founded the Stuttering Foundation of America. In subsequent years, he added generously to the endowment so that at the present time, endowment income covers over fifty percent of the operating budget. In 1984, Malcolm Fraser received the fourth annual National Council on Communicative Disorders' Distinguished Service Award. The NCCD, a council of 32 national organizations, recognized the Foundation's efforts in "adding to stutterers', parents', clinicians', and the public's awareness and ability to deal constructively with stuttering." Book Stutterer Interrupted

Download or read book Stutterer Interrupted written by Nina G. and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2019-08-06 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nina G bills herself as “The San Francisco Bay Area’s Only Female Stuttering Comedian.” On stage, she encounters the occasional heckler, but off stage she is often confronted with people’s comments toward her stuttering; listeners completing her sentences, inquiring, “Did you forget your name?” and giving unwanted advice like “slow down and breathe” are common. (As if she never thought about slowing down and breathing in her over thirty years of stuttering!) When Nina started comedy nearly ten years ago, she was the only woman in the world of stand-up who stuttered—not a surprise, since men outnumber women four to one amongst those who stutter and comedy is a male-dominated profession. Nina’s brand of comedy reflects the experience of many people with disabilities in that the problem with disability isn’t in the person with it but in a society that isn’t always accessible or inclusive.

Download or read book Stuttering How to Stop Stuttering Learn to Speak Fluently Speak Without Fear and Stop Stutter Permanently Get Rid of Stutter in 7 Easy Steps Without Expensive Speech Therapy written by Michael Hooper and published by Michael Hooper. This book was released on 2022-01-18 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stuttering can be explained as a conversation problem in children. Speaking fluently and concluding the word without taking any pause is nearly impossible for stuttering children. Through the full years, data shows that stuttering is more prevalent in boys when compared with girls. Stuttering, or stammering, can be a very puzzling disorder; neither your near ones take it seriously and nor can you explain to them how difficult it is for you to speak. In fact, stuttering has not got the same amount of coverage or importance as other disabilities have got over the decades – namely, physical disability, mental challenge or visual impairment. Just imagine, a very normal person, is reduced to being a mere robot without the proper speech software. Even though he can speak, he is not able to control it or even assure its fluency. Stuttering is thus, one of the most mysterious disorders ever known to mankind and to science; but despite being so, it is still not prioritized on par with other disorders for its rectification. Hence, most of the stutterers, i.e. 70 million around the world, have to find their own methods to deal with their condition and come to a compromise with it. This book will cover the following: •What is Stuttering •Techniques to help with stuttering by reducing anxiety •How to manage Stuttering •Stuttering in Children • Medical Solutions Get instant access today!!

  • Pages : 0 pages

Download or read book Stop Stuttering written by Michael Ferris and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2024-02-19 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book goes beyond instilling hope; its mission is to provide a concrete and highly effective pathway to overcome the challenges of stuttering. As you embark on this journey, know that I, too, have traveled this path-a journey that took me from the depths of severe stuttering to the liberating realm of fluent speech. You've likely picked up this book because previous attempts to conquer stuttering have left you seeking answers. Traditional avenues such as speech therapy, stuttering support websites, and conventional resources, unfortunately, have a dismal track record in assisting individuals in their quest to stop stuttering. Here's the good news: a paradigm shift for stutterers is finally underway. A paradigm shift represents a radical change in thinking from an accepted point of view to a new one, driven by an advancement of knowledge that has a profound, large-scale impact. Those who cling to the existing paradigm may resist contradictory theories or evidence that challenge their established views or practices. However, it's essential to be open to new possibilities and discoveries. The brain's capacity for creation and evolution knows no bounds. We wield more influence over the shaping of our brains than we once imagined. We are not mere spectators or victims of our brain's neural network. We are active participants, steering the course of our brain's evolution. This extraordinary capacity of the brain to change is known as neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is the phenomenon through which the structure of our brains undergoes constant transformation in response to the multitude of experiences and thoughts, whether positive or negative, that we encounter. It extends to every habit we cultivate, including the challenges faced by those who stutter. The revelation of neuroplasticity heralds a monumental breakthrough in our understanding of the human brain. If your goal is to stop stuttering altogether, it's time to explore the world of neuroplasticity. It's time to move past mainstream thinking about stuttering and embrace the power of brain neuroplasticity to overcome this challenge. The paradigm shift is here, and it's time to stop stuttering and start living a life free from the constraints of speech dysfluency. Within the pages of this self-improvement book, we will explore the StutterMind Neuroscience Protocol, an easy-to-follow, practical, and effective self-help method designed rewire the brain and eliminate stuttering. This self-help method, based on the principles of brain neuroplasticity, has not only been a transformative force in my life but also serves as a guiding light for you to achieve the same success. Included in the book are exclusive links (QR Codes) to supplementary videos explaining the principals of brain neuroplasticity and coaching on the use of practical Tools to avoid any stutter. Together, we will explore the tools, brain training exercises, and support resources that will empower you to break free from the chains of stuttering and realize the full potential of your life with confident and fluent communication. Your path to Stop Stuttering starts here! Michael Ferris Neuroplastician and Author
