Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you picked up this book then you are one of two types of people. You are either a fan of dodgeball and are curious to learn more or you hate dodgeball and can not believe that anyone would actually write a book about it. Which ever type you are you will find useful information in the rest of the book to support your position. I am a Physical Education and Health teacher in Columbus, Ohio. I have been teaching for 14 years, and have taught all age groups from kindergarten to seniors. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Capital University and currently I am working on receiving a Master's Degree from Ashland University in Sport and Exercise Sciences. I have played dodgeball with all age groups and have had nothing but success. I am a firm believer that any game-properly structured-can be a positive experience for the students, parents and teacher. Bottom line on dodgeball is that kids will play the game with more enthusiasm than any other organized game. As a professional educator, I am will to do whatever it takes to get children moving for fun and fitness benefits. If dodgeball did not work I would not use it. As you read this book you will find some history and theory related to dodgeball theory and a whole lot of different games. I will state up front that what is written in this book is nothing more than my opinion (shared by my fellow teaching partners) and should be viewed as such. I tried to set the book up so that it would an easy format to follow and humorous to read. I hope that you find the book enjoyable and useful in your pursuit to find games and activities that kids will actively participate in. If you are an anti-dodgeball person you will still find plenty of goodfuel for your fire within this book. Then again I might just make you a believer.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An ordinary leader is someone who leads a small organization or team that is doing great things. They manage the majority of the world’s workforce, but they don’t lead large corporations or big government agencies. Ordinary leaders are rarely written about in books or quoted in magazines. They are, however, important. Maybe not globally, but in their own realm of influence, their leadership makes a difference. The term “ordinary” is also used to highlight the belief that no one ever arrives as a leader. In fact, if someone thinks of themselves as extraordinary, they will not be a very effective leader. Author Randy Grieser presents 10 key insights for building and leading a thriving organization. These are the principles he identifies as instrumental to success as a leader. Writing for leaders everywhere, he inspires, motivates, and explains how to make each insight a reality in your organization. Become a more passionate, productive, and visionary leader by exploring and embracing these 10 insights: Motivation and Employee Engagement: Organizations flourish when employees go beyond what is expected of them. Passion: A passionate, inspired workforce begins with the leader. Vision: Visionary leaders energize and inspire people to work towards a future goal. Self-Awareness: Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is vital for leading any organization. Talent and Team Selection: The right employees must, first and foremost, fit the workplace culture. Organizational Health: Employees are most engaged when leaders are committed to the emotional well-being of everyone. Productivity: Focusing on how and what things get done increases efficiency. Creativity and Innovation: Building processes for innovation puts creativity to work. Delegation: As you free up your time, you will also increase employee engagement. Self-Improvement: Personal development makes all the other principles easier to achieve. Also included are the perspectives of 10 ordinary leaders from a range of professions, survey feedback from over 1,700 leaders and employees, and a resource section that provides detailed guidance and examples for putting these ideas into action.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The Philosophy of Dodgeball” is a first-of-its kind treatise on the many facets of play found in the popular playground game, now played on the professional level by the National Dodgeball League and the National Collegiate Dodgeball Association. The book's sixteen chapters examine many different aspects of the game, including a history of dodgeball, the philosophy of play, and what it means to play with sportsmanship and honor. Many physical skills and techniques are discussed and examined, including methods of throwing, catching, and ducking. Not ignoring the namesake of the game, in-depth looks on the mindset and methods of dodging are presented, including details on how to jump and land, both properly and safely. Each of these topics participate in a study of what it truly means to play dodgeball, and how to treat the sport as more than exercise or mere competition. Less common is the player who studies these many talents and techniques not for simple victory, but for a higher appreciation into what it means to excel at this sport, which for the player becomes art.Written for both the player and the instructor, “The Philosophy of Dodgeball” is fully illustrated with over sixty illustrations and several graphs and charts to indulge the player who loves the sport. Topical quotes from significant and popular authors appropriately introduce each chapter. This treatise, available in print and for Kindle makes a great entry-level book for the beginner's learning, and provides an interesting and enjoyable read with a new trick or two for seasoned players to consider.
