Book Managing Brand Equity

Download or read book Managing Brand Equity written by David A. Aaker and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2009-12-01 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most important assets of any business are intangible: its company name, brands, symbols, and slogans, and their underlying associations, perceived quality, name awareness, customer base, and proprietary resources such as patents, trademarks, and channel relationships. These assets, which comprise brand equity, are a primary source of competitive advantage and future earnings, contends David Aaker, a national authority on branding. Yet, research shows that managers cannot identify with confidence their brand associations, levels of consumer awareness, or degree of customer loyalty. Moreover in the last decade, managers desperate for short-term financial results have often unwittingly damaged their brands through price promotions and unwise brand extensions, causing irreversible deterioration of the value of the brand name. Although several companies, such as Canada Dry and Colgate-Palmolive, have recently created an equity management position to be guardian of the value of brand names, far too few managers, Aaker concludes, really understand the concept of brand equity and how it must be implemented. In a fascinating and insightful examination of the phenomenon of brand equity, Aaker provides a clear and well-defined structure of the relationship between a brand and its symbol and slogan, as well as each of the five underlying assets, which will clarify for managers exactly how brand equity does contribute value. The author opens each chapter with a historical analysis of either the success or failure of a particular company's attempt at building brand equity: the fascinating Ivory soap story; the transformation of Datsun to Nissan; the decline of Schlitz beer; the making of the Ford Taurus; and others. Finally, citing examples from many other companies, Aaker shows how to avoid the temptation to place short-term performance before the health of the brand and, instead, to manage brands strategically by creating, developing, and exploiting each of the five assets in turn

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An American Tail is a beautifully rendered animated flim that tells an overly familiar story in terms children can easily understand. Fievel Mousekewitz and his family of Russian-Jewish mice escape from their homeland in the late 1800s, boarding a boat headed toward America to evade the Czarist rule of the Russian cats. Fievel, however, is separated from his family upon his arrival in New York City, and he discovers to his horror that there are cats in America too (his father said there weren't). Fievel meets his share of friendly and hostile mice, and he eventually befriends a cat as well. This book contains step by step instructions of how to draw your favourite cartoon characters from An American Tail in a picture book format. Art grids are used to help improve your work by breaking down intimidating imagery into more manageable portions. The grid basically divides the original image into smaller blocks so that you can more easily see what belongs where. This can help you create more natural, effortless artwork, and increase your understanding of shapes, composition and color. The grid method has been used by artists for centuries as a tool to creating correct proportions. All the steps in this book are visually depicted in a very detailed manner and are self explanatory. Hence there are no written instructions required. In this book you will learn to draw following characters:Learn To Draw Bridget, Fievel Mousekewitz, Gussie Mausheimer, Henri, Honest John, Mama Mousekewitz, Papa Mousekewitz, Tanya Mousekewitz, Tiger, Tony Toponi and Warren T. Rat.I hope that you enjoy this book.

Book British French and American Relations on the Western Front 1914 1918

Download or read book British French and American Relations on the Western Front 1914 1918 written by Chris Kempshall and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-06-16 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a thorough examination of the relations between the men in the British, French and American armies on the Western Front of the First World War. The Allied victory in 1918 was built on the backs of British, French, and American soldiers who joined together to fight for a common cause. Using the diaries, records, and letters of these men, Chris Kempshall shows how these soldiers interacted with each other during four years of war. The British army that arrived in France in 1914 became isolated from their French allies and unable to coordinate with them. By 1916, Britain’s professional soldiers were replaced by civilians who learned to love their French ally, who reached out to them in friendship. At the end of the war the introduction of American soldiers caused hope and conflict before perceived British failures brought the alliance to the brink of collapse. Final cooperation between these three nations saw them victorious.

Book Notable Books Notable Lessons

Download or read book Notable Books Notable Lessons written by Andrea S. Libresco and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2017-09-21 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides teachers, librarians, and education methods professors with strategies, lesson plans, and activities that enable them to use literature as a springboard to social studies thematic instruction. With the amount of time and resources allocated to teaching social studies being significantly reduced, social studies lessons need to be incorporated into other subjects. Notable Books, Notable Lessons: Putting Social Studies Back in the K–8 Curriculum offers the tools to teach students social studies concepts that are increasingly relevant and essential in today's diverse, globalized world—lessons that are vital in order to prepare students to think critically and participate in our multicultural democracy. Providing information that elementary and middle school teachers and librarians, district-level curriculum directors and principals, staff developers, and social studies and literacy methods professors will find extremely useful, this book uses the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS)/Children's Book Council (CBC)'s current and past lists of Notable Books at the elementary and middle school levels to offer easy-to-follow lesson plans that integrate social studies instruction with reading and language arts. The lesson plans pose compelling questions to facilitate discussion and critical thinking and suggest engaging activities that are connected to the social studies concepts. The book also includes sample student handouts for the selected pieces of literature.
